    Flounder and shrimp combo dinner
    Kenya J.

If my plate looks picked through, it's because I couldn't wait to get home for a taste. I've driven past this place many times over the years and never stopped. It was recommended to me by another seafood lover. I gotta say I am not disappointed. There's a sign inside that says "this is not fast food, all food is cooked to order" and it's true. I placed my order and was told it would be a 15-20 min wait, but I didn't wait that long. Service was friendly and amazing. I feel the need to mention, if you don't care for the smell of raw seafood, put in your order and wait in the car.

    Fresh and very tasty

Fried bream, flaky and cooked perfect

I'm never getting seafood anywhere else!! Fried bream for lunch was delicious, then when I realized it was a market, I returned after work for shrimp. The shrimp and grits I made at home, but the shrimp came from Galle's. They get shipments on Tues and Thurs (I believe that's what he said). I can't wait to go back!!

Delicious seafood! I had the perch and shrimp plate. It was amazing! If I had to choose again I would go with potato salad over the slaw. The hush puppies are ok. We also got a few pounds of bream. It was cooked perfect. The cups of cocktail and tartar are tiny so ask for more!

I tried this place because a group of colleagues were ordering food to-go. We placed our orders over the phone. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because they have no vegetables that are not fried. They fry everything, even vegetables! Other than that I liked it. Now Galle's Seafood is not a place you want to sit down and have your food unless you are a fan of the smell of fresh seafood. It has seating for you, but all the people that visited were picking up orders. Galle's Seafood is a seafood market as well. You can get mullet, croaker, nile beam, catfish, sheephead, trout, flounder, red snapper, black bass and the list goes on. Again, the fish is displayed near the area where you place or pick up orders. They also have crab legs and jumbo scrimp - all the makings of a good cook-out or low country boil. I ordered something pretty simple. I had the 10 piece fried shrimp, which I would have preferred grilled, but as I mentioned before, they fry everything. This meal came with one side. I ordered the potato salad and I normally don't eat potato salad that was not prepared by my Mom, but it was really good. Your meal also comes with corn nuggets, a kin to hush puppies. I liked them and I counted them as my vegetable. Lol! The other sides available are cole slaw, fried okra, baked beans and hush puppies. Overall, the food was awesome. My colleagues eat here often and they always enjoy their meals. The location is off Laney-Walker Blvd. toward East Boundry. If you aren't familiar with the area, you may need to use your navigation. You can't miss it. There's a huge sign with an arrow pointing to a blue and white building. There is limited parking on the side of the building. The staff was really nice. They work quickly and do so with a smile. The owner made sure to tell me that although they fry everything, they fry it in peanut oil, so it's healthy. *Snickers*

One thing I love about this city is the hospitality. Walked in, and felt like a regular. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I had a taste for fried catfish and yelp lead me to the right place. A seafood market and a restaurant and the food was done right. I got a catfish filet, and whole catfish, and fried shrimp. Seasoned to perfection, hot and fresh! I'm in the city working twice a year and can't wait to get back!

Cigarette in the tartar sauce. The food administration should close them down. I will never eat there again.

My wife got the black eyed peas jambalaya and two of us got catfish platters, one fried and one blackened. My wife didn't eat a lot of her meal because she said it was too spicy, but she's a spice wimp so I'm not holding that against the restaurant especially since I never tried it. My daughter's blackened catfish was very salty. Our fries were very salty but good. My catfish, fried, was excellent. I would have liked to give a 3.5 but couldn't and my fish was so good I just couldn't give a 3. I'd eat here again but only fried catfish for me. I could see myself eating here at least once a month. Bonus: after dinner take a walk along the waterfront.

There is plenty of parking. I'm not sure why it's called "at the river" bc I didn't see a river. There is inside and an outside enclosed area for seating when you enter from the parking lot. It is decorated like a casual bar and grill. My server was in training but friendly and worked alongside his trainer head server. For beverages, I ordered the oyster shooter and that Bloody Mary did not disappoint. I also had a Black Raspberry Margarita. This seems to be a thing in Augusta for Margaritas as well as this was the 2nd restaurant I went to and had this. The other place was better though. But let's talk about the food! The catfish was super tasty. They gave me fries although I didn't order them, and of course I still ate them. I had a side of baked potato salad. I should've asked why they're baked, but that was just okay. I had the TASTE OF BEAMIES- chicken & shrimp gumbo, black eyed pea jambalaya, shrimp and grits, my fav's in order were the chicken and shrimp gumbo, the shrimp and grits, then the black eyed pea jambalaya. I also ordered the 1/2 dozen Rockefeller oysters and they were amazing. The hush puppies that came with them were just okay. Overall, I enjoyed this meal.

If you've never been there, they will start you out with samples of all of their lemonade (which all of them are incredibly flavorful) and you'll inevitably get one because it's THAT good. The staff comes with recommendations to help you navigate the menu and they are so attentive and helpful. I'd go as far to say that they had some of the best service in Augusta. Now to the food, 10/10 I could not recommend them enough. I've had the honey lemon pepper wings and the loyalty platter. And it was so good. The honey lemon pepper wings were full of deep flavor and they give you at-least 10 wings with the plate. The steak and shrimp are the best seasoned meats I've ever had at a restaurant. I've also had a few nibbles of their seafood and ‍. Then when you're ready for dessert, don't worry you get samples too. The blue velvet is my favorite but all of them are award winning so you can't go wrong when it comes to Nattas sweet treats. Over all, great experience, great people, and great place. Get out and support local, it'll never disappoint. P.S. if you think it's pricey, you're wrong. You get what you pay for here. You get no less than two meals out of one plate.

They have a valet system, so no worries about parking. Staff have been very professional and friendly, so 5/5 stars for that. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon, medium rare. Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly! It came with asparagus and mashed potatoes covered in a crispy layer of batter, which all complimented the steak well. I tried their tuna tartare, which had an interesting take on what the tuna was served on. I've always been used to tuna tartare being accommodated with bread, but this was sushi rice compacted and covered in some light batter. Felt like I was eating tuna sushi. Apply some of the sauces it comes with and seriously was fantastic. I also got to try 4oz of their Japanese A5 Wagyu. Super expensive; $80 dollars for four ounces, but worth the experience. You cook the thin pieces over a hot stone and apply some of the seasonings like salt it comes with. I cooked each side for about 30 seconds, sprinkled some salt, and it melted in my mouth! I ended my meal with their carrot cake and it was moist, not overly sweet, and had a great savory taste. I really enjoyed my time here and certainly will be back again. There is a bar and at the back of the restaurant, you can see the baseball field. Restrooms were clean, but only one stall from what I've seen in the men's room. Overall 5/5 steak house experience.
