This is a total secret amongst the locals. I've got to admit that I was super hesitant as I drove up in pure darkness. I'm not kidding or exaggerating when I say that there was not a streetlamp for at least 10 minutes. The first time, I was just about to turn around when a parking lot full of cars suddenly appeared. I couldn't believe that this casino was full of gamblers when the more famous casinos such as agua caliente and fantasy springs had noticeably empty parking garages as I drove by on the freeway. Anyways, they check your ID before you enter so children are not allowed. Tucked away in the back, is a no-frills all you can eat seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights for $30. They give you one lobster tail at a time and it's definitely the best way to get your money's worth. The rest is a typical buffet with nothing else to rave about. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE & WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANOTHER SPOT.... Stopped off here to get out of the heat driving back home to San Diego. When we arrived, we walked past 1 door with 1 security guard & towards the side door. I have a service dog so I was making sure he didn't need to use the restroom before walking in. When we where finally ready to walk in 2 security guards opened the door & questioned me, but not my friend. They checked my ID & said they needed to run a report on my ID, but couldn't explain what the report was. When I asked for his supervisor he said he was the supervisor & yet he couldn't explain what they where running my ID for. From there I was followed by security & after about 30 minutes, I found the casino Hostes & said something about security & how they treated me like I was a criminal & that what they where doing was discrimination. I didn't notice another security person the rest of the time I was there which was while sitting there eating the $5 burger special they had going on. I did see the security guard that said he was in charge & asked for his business card. He said to give him a minute & he would be right back with it. I sat there a good 30 minutes waiting for him to never show up. I spoke to the hostes & told her i was still waiting & she called the supervisor & come to find out the guard i encountered had lied as another person came out to meet ne & that was not the guy who said he was the supervisor of security on duty. Horrible 1st experience there & if you go with your service dog you will know what it feels like to be a subject in a police investigation so expect to have your ID run against some report that security can't give a name for & for them not to give you their information after telling the Hostes you don't feel comfortable there & that the security there has made you feel unwelcome & like a criminal. At least she got them to stop following us around while we ate & left to find a better casino in the area. The place is very nice clean and the people are friendly. The reason that I give them a three star is because they used to have a killer buffet there. That was really good and they took it out and put in some fast food places that are expensive and not that good as I have tried them they need to get it together and get the buffet back if they want to make the money a lot of people used to go there just for the buffet. read more

Solid 3.5 Stars! The recently remodeled Augustine Casino looks very great both inside and outside. It is located in Coachella; somewhat far from anything else. This casino continues to make gains but still needs to make improvements to compete with some of the bigger more well-established Indian casinos in the valley. They have a couple of short rows of table games, several digital slot machines, and a very small high roller slot area. Some of the older style machines are simply just that; older. Regardless, there is a game for everyone. The all you can eat lobster/seafood buffet in CAFE 54 was very good. There was a period of time where we had to wait for items to be replaced, but not a huge issue. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced, and the bar is well-decorated. I've never seen such entitled and rude behavior from ladies in the Hospitality Industry especially in Gaming where people spend hard earned money. If you have an issue while visiting this place, please expect the female managers to react rudely and accusatory towards you, they really need to be retrained in Customer Service. The reason I was hitting jackpots was because I was playing $100 a push machines, let's be honest at the end of the day I lost over $10,000.00 and you guys took for ever to pay out the jackpots which meant I was sitting and waiting for ever to get my money so I could continue to play! Very ghetto casino. Lots of vagrants and low lifes inside. Very unsafe to go to. Security accused my mom of stealing a drunk guys 1.70$ on a machine. They followed my mom around until the machine was checked and saw she didnt play the money. They had accused her of theft and did not apologize when they were proven wrong. Will never go back and highly recommend to avoid this casino. You can get way more entertainment and better quality service at any of the other 9 casinos in town. read more

Hi! 3 stars because of the inconsistency in general staff hospitality. Regarding friendliness, it's just hit or miss with security and custodial staff. Intimidation tactics don't work on me but I'm sure that those same attitudes will drive away some customers. Slot staff is almost always upbeat and congenial even when busy. Players club staff always has a smile and ready to help out and answer questions. Deli staff, again, is a hit or miss depending on mood or situation. Deli cooks are awesome in skill and attitude. Table dealers have always been friendly and helpful. I haven't tried the Cafe 54 yet. This is my fifth time here since the remodel and I like the coziness and decor but not the inadequate ventilation. Here at Augustine over the past few months, there have been many more cordial and friendly encounters with staff than not. Security seems to have a movement toward a more positive culture. He did this with genuine sincerity and I retract my original view because it has been resolved by learning more about their procedure and why the incident occured. Before the new expention Augustain's Casino was a fun place to dine, gamble. Cafe 54 went and raised their Monday/Thursday night buffet price from $12.95 to $14.95 Not worth the money. Not when the prime rib is (always cold) poor service, management out of touch with reality. The casino floor for starter's (Where is the Fun?) Can't find it here with total unforgiving slots. AWESOME casino. Small compared to the other "big guys" in the area. Though much smaller, this is THE place to be for a good time AND ACTUALLY winning a little cash. They even offer hourly drawings to 5 guests at a time of 100.00 each from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday's. THAT, is a lot of winners! ALL the newer machines are here, the employees are are ALL very nice (Security Guard opens the front door for EVERY single guest!), NOT overly crowded, clean, air works VERY good son you are NOT suffoctaed by smokers and PLENTY of parking. There is a small grill at one corner of the casino which offers some VERY tasty food (FRIES are AWESOME!!!). I ahd NO idea there was a buffet until I read the other reviews. I loved this place! VERY busy though. Drinks are reasonable and so are their table games! Sunday through Thursday they have $3/hit blackjack tables and $5 on the weekend. $10 of free slot play or table games upon signing up for their players card! Tons of promotions!
