NO!! The waitress was rude, the place was dirty. The menus were sticky and dirty. Even the servers bill fold was sticky and had food all over it, I didn't even want to see the bill, it was so gross. Refilled drinks only once and there was only a few people in the establishment. The food was tasteless and not worth the money. 11.99 for 7 shrimp and an up charge if you ask for fries (out of a bag). There are plenty of other places on Front Street to eat that are worth the money. We will not be going back and I would not recommend this place at all to anyone. The waitress was really not happy that my husband wanted to add fries to his meal. She wanted him to choose from other sides that we were not interested in. Fries, really, is it that hard to drop in a fryer? The portion size was ridiculous. I thought it was an appetizer. The waitress's attitude was horrible and she was rude from the beginning. Fantastic! I was hoping for breakfast but we got there a little late - but the super friendly server made a fresh pot of coffee for me anyway :) we had the shrimp and grits - unique to me, with fried shrimp and a smoky brown sauce, and the best grits I've ever had. Have been getting to know the restaurants in Georgetown and decided to give Aunnys a try. Great meal, we will be back! I had the meatloaf, mac&cheese, collards and neckbone rice. It was all delicious. My husband had fried shrimp, squash casserole, collards and black eyed peas and he enjoyed his as well. Portions are generous so I left with a meal for the next day. Hubby had enough room to also sample the Lemonade pie which he said was delicious. If you are in Georgetown and want some great down home food this is the spot to eat! read more

Soooooo I usually have to go to my mother for some good soul food but this place is... top notch. First time I went there I had gotten a Rib dinner with mac and cheese and collards and proceeded to get a food coma. It's nice and cozy and the workers there are very friendly. Needed takeout food after a long day on the road. My wife had a hankering for fried chicken and Aunny's was her choice. The place is on Front Street, which is full of upscale places. Aunny's is more like a casual neighborhood spot. The woman working the counter was extremely nice and the food was ready when she said it would be. The chicken was great, not heavily breaded but really flavorful. I loved the collards and rice. I don't like my collards too sweet, and Aunny's had just the right light touch. Where does one start?!?! The complimentary cornbread was homemade and hot (fantastic). The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We got a variety of dishes so we could eat off of each other's plates. (Again, all made from scratch!) my only regret was that we didn't start with dessert because we were too full! To have any. Oh, my. Everything I've read and more. The food here is outstanding, down-home cooking. The huge smothered pork chop is fork tender, and the ribs tasty, juicy and tender. We don't find collard greens and black-eyed peas on menus back home and the little I've had in the past, I didn't care for. We ordered here based on other reviews and they were absolutely delicious! Other sides we had were baked beans, mashed potatoes and cole slaw. We highly recommend all. (Meals were large- meat and 3 sides for $10.99! Come hungry). Our server Jayna (sp?) was as sweet and attentive as could be. We stopped here on our way to Charleston and this is definitely worth another visit, set in the historic waterfront area of Georgetown. read more

Excellent hash, hashbrowns - tiny potatoes and onions, grits, bacon - perfectly cooked, and my favorite - whiting fish. The breading on the fish was slightly spicy and so so tasty for breakfast. There was one lady cooking for everyone, so the wait was longer than expected but so worth it. I'm not sure my kids would be patient but I would definitely return if I'm in the area again. read more

The fried pork chop with squash casserole and tomato/okra were delicious. The salad with chicken strips was huge! Mac-n-cheese was creamy rich. Tough to decide when everything looked so great on the menu and on the plates passing our table. Worst shrimp and grits I've ever eaten. It was a bowl of grits topped with this thick brown gravy with fried shrimp mixed in. The grits weren't that bad but the gravy and shrimp were absolutely disgusting. Definitely not worth the 11 dollars they charge. Will never eat here again. read more

My water had a film on top with lots of "floaters" in my glass. Our server brought our water in to go cups as requested. I ordered the fried chicken salad. The description of the salad included lettuce, cheese, bacon, tomatoes, and onions. I asked for no tomatoes or onions and balsamic vinaigrette, both tomatoes and onions were included and the bacon was actually imitation bacon bits. The server brought out balsamic vinegar and she asked if this was dressing. My husband's hamburger steak was a piece of congealed meat peppers and onions embedded. Our daughter's French fries were greasy and scalding hot, obviously just taken out of the fryer. Although the servers were nice, we will not eat here again if we ever go back to Georgetown. read more

Went to Aunnys today! The staff was great and very entertaining with the customers that were there. We all had cheeseburgers, which in all honesty tasty like frozen patties ( I think they are more used to serving the southern food thats on the menu) as we were pressed for time however we Will be going back for a dinner soon. read more

On our way to the beach for our 10th anniversary we decided to stop in Georgetown for lunch - after browsing through the local restaurants guide we decided on Aunnys for some southern cooking. This was by far the best choice we could have made. We were greeted and treated like we'd been coming there for years!!! The food is reminiscent of grand-mamas cooking. If you are interested in getting your belly full of southern cooking - I highly recommend trying Aunny's. We will definitely be making more trips to Georgetown!!!! read more

We asked a very gracious, talented SC/Gullah lady where the best place to eat in Georgetown was located. She suggested Aunny's and we are so glad we took her advice. We experienced great, quick service and even better food. Between the four at our table we ordered every side dish on the menu along with fried chicken and shrimp. Each one was delicious. Passing near Georgetown NC on our way to Charleston, we stopped by Aunny's for lunch. The southern style fried chicken was excellent, as was the shrimp and grits. Our sides of butter & lima beans, of okra & tomatoes, and of candied yams were fantastic. I think the best aspect of Aunny's, in addition to the delicious food, was our server. I first experienced Aunny's last year. I would only recommend to people who like big flavor of whom I am one. You will find these dishes elsewhere only rarely. They are prepared as well as possible. I am shocked that this restaurant has such good reviews. My fried chicken was so dry it was actually inedible. The mac n cheese was just yellow noodles (not sure where the cheese was and we were concerned that the noodles were that color of yellow...). I really don't understand how this place got such good reviews. We stopped here for breakfast and chose this restaurant based on these reviews. However after looking more carefully I read that some people have had the same experience as me. The food was ok but nothing special. I got the salmon croquettes with grits on the side. If I have hadn't ordered the grits I think it would be just 2 croquettes? Who doesn't have sides for breakfast. My husbands pancakes were good but nothing special. His toast arrived 20 mins before the rest of the meal. But mostly the service was unacceptable. They never refilled our coffee until I asked. They acted like we were a bother to be there. And the food took so long even though we were the only people there. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more
