My husband and I ordered a pretzel dog and the Monte Cristo stuffed pretzel to share. I loved the pretzel dog, it was my favorite. A good sized hotdog wrapped in pretzel with salt sprinkled on top, so yummy! The Monte Cristo stuffed pretzel was served with a raspberry serrano jam. It was tasty, but my husband and I thought it tasted better with mustard. It was good, but their pretzel dog won out over that. Next time I'm in the area, I'm going to revisit this restaurant. They have a lot of pretzels and stuffed pretzels to try.

But, I am reviewing the Lombard location. The selection was good and fresh, although some of their items are a bit pricey. I ordered cake pops, brownies, and a chocolate chip cookie. The sales person was pleasant and quick. This store is their biggest store, and they feed the Winfield and Schaumburg stores. They make their pastries at this location, so you'll probably get the freshest selection at the Lombard location. I had bought a gift card from Costco for Sweet Reserve. I admit if I hadn't bought it, and received a discount at Costco for it, I probably would not have noticed the store. It's in a small strip mall on Roosevelt road which has hundreds of strip malls off the road. The store itself is clean and well kept. It does have a limited selection of products but they were all pretty good. The brownies are very frudgey, just the way I like them. The cake pops are sweet, but a little dry. The cookie has a lot of chips in them. Overall, I liked the place.

Close at 10pm but if you need longer later hours a 1am tea shop is about a quarter mile down the road with good options also. Parking lot with plenty of parking. My highlight is that they have booths. Plenty of tables and seating. Good menu options for lattes, iced, hot, espresso, etc. Reasonable priced and they have 20oz coffee. The service was nice as the girl was kind but she didn't seem to understand me well and she didn't know if the coffee was Turkish or not. Therefore, I ordered an Americano with their homemade pistachio sauce. It was a nice beverage. I also ordered a Turkish bread with ground beef. It too was delicious, hot and fresh. The ambiance is inviting. The pastries and mini to small cake options were quite beautiful. The nose level was very quiet until little ones came in. Still tolerable but if you are studying and it's busy don't forget your headphones. Lol. I studied for about 3 hours and I would definitely return again.

The Lombard location is floor to ceiling windows throughout, letting in natural light. This location is very spacious and has plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor). It is not cramped at all. There are several places for great photo ops too. Service throughout was great. The staff member that assisted me was very helpful and friendly. He may have been the only person there and he was able to keep up with the constant influx of customers. I got a hot Yemeni chai as my drink and it was creamy, bold, and flavorful. MOTW's chai is my favorite when compared to other Yemeni shops. It is sooooo good!! For food I got a samosa empanada which was very tasty. I appreciate that they warmed it up for me too. There is an up charge for sauce, which I did get. The spicy aioli paired very well with the samosa empanada. I believe the empanadas are from savory crust.

The seasoning had just the right balance of heat and depth without overpowering the chicken itself. The sides and sauce tied everything together perfectly. Honestly, it was so good it would give Hattie B's a run for their money, and that's saying something. If you're anywhere near Lombard and craving Nashville-style hot chicken, Ride Rooster is definitely worth checking out.

The interior of Rude Rooster is fairly big and looks decent. I like how they have a huge menu posted right up on the wall before you reach the ordering counter, so you don't have to look up and behind the counter. Their menu is similar to other hot chicken places, with tenders, fries, sandos, etc. I ordered a 3-tender combo with mild heat level. It included fries, toast, coleslaw, and Rude sauce. The tenders were generous in size, but a bit on the chewy/tough side. The fries had a very tasty seasoning. The toast was decent, and the coleslaw was tasty. The Rude sauce had some kick to it; definitely not as sugary as the orange sauce at other chicken places. I will say, too, that the mild version at Rude Rooster has a little more kick than the mild version at other chicken places. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal. Not the best chicken I've had, but not bad. Pricing was on par with other chicken places and service was not rude.
