It's rare to step into a restaurant before the doors open, an almost behind-the-scenes experience…read more You get to see what makes people tick and who they really are. In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

I also like that they feature a daily special that isn't on the regular menu--it adds a nice element of variety. Everything is cooked to order, which is definitely a plus. Just keep in mind that most of the menu is fried, so this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a particularly healthy meal.

Poured over steak fries which is her favorite, what turned into a few bites because she wasn't hungry into a full on fry feast, she enjoyed them as did I. They are good for sure, I enjoyed them a as well. We cut the Roadhouse burger into 4 sections as my wife just wanted one Slider, but they don't sale ala crate sliders, so we ordered the this one and split it. It was really good. The patty was thick and not overly cooked. Very juicy. The burger patty itself didn't have a lot of flavor from seasonings. The other items on the burger were well done, juicy, and had good flavor. This looks like a sit down and order store tho it isn't . You order at a counter, get our own drinks, complementary ice cream cone, place a number card on a staff on the table, then wait for it to be delivered. Oddly enough, all they do is bring the food and clean the remains from the table, yet with all of this tip culture going rampant, they check out asks for a tip for them basically doing their job. This I didn't like. The place wasn't busy at all for a Saturday night. Wasn't very noisy at all either. There was a lot of older generation couples in tonight. They have several TV's showing the football game with the volume at a decent level to still have a conversation with your date, spouse, or friends. Other odd thing, this place has a lot of various options, from Tacos, to seafood plates, to hamburgers, to salads. Seemed like an odd combo of options, but it must work for them, we say tables with patrons consuming all the different types of plates and foods. It's a neat place, glad we stopped, the fries alone are worth the stop.

The portions were a nice size. I would recommend going at least once. For me, it gave me a MCL cafeteria vibe. If someone wanted to go, I would go again as the food was decent.

It's been almost 5 years since I've been to Shake Shack, so we decided to stop by and try it out…read moreagain. The inside was pretty standard and neat, but there are multiple touch screen kiosks where you can place your order which I found really convenient. Service was also okay, but just standard. For our meal, we got their Big Shack Burger ($11.99), Parmesan Garlic Fries ($4.99), & Large Pomegranate Sweet Basil Lemonade ($4.99). Everything was delicious! You could tell the burger was made fresh compare to McDonalds or Burger King. The Parmesan covered fries dipped in their garlic sauce added some rich flavor to the fries. The pomegranate lemonade was not overly sweet and had a sour pomegranate taste to it which I really liked. Even though our meal tasted great, the sizing of the food was really small. In contrast to the drinks, the burgers and fries came in one size. We felt like it should've been bigger for the pricing of everything. Overall, a bit overpriced but still a pretty good burger chain in the Metairie area.

As they grew, they expanded their menu. One of the many reasons to go here is to taste they're made fresh to order food. Vast expansive menu. Especially to note they added doggie treats and ice cream. So I assume pets are welcome? Be sure to keep them leashed and mindful of your surroundings. For your information. You will love them cause they are one of few fast casual restaurants that caters towards your allergies and dietary needs. They have few spots in the Crescent City. We just happen to be in Metairie location. This particular location is a little different and easier to get to. Besides the traffic. They cannot control. I like this location better since the parking lot is right next to it. Unlike other locations. Tend to be a bit of walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. This happens to be right next to it. This has an outdoor seating. Cannot say much of the view but it is very nice and enjoyable. Definitely recommend it as long as weather permits. It is semi shady and with ceiling fans and few plants to make it more comfortable. As we walked in they have a large lobby/dinning area. They have several small ordering tablets on the side for people to order. They do not accept cash at time I believe? (Card only) We started out with: The Big Shack - Two quarter-pound*, 100% Angus beef patties made to order, topped with secret sauce, green leaf lettuce, American cheese, pickles, tomatoes, and onions on a three-layer toasted potato bun. ShackBurger - angus beef cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. Chicken Shack -Antibiotic-free, hand-breaded, white-meat chicken breast over lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo on a toasted potato bun. Parmesan Garlic Fries -Crispy crinkle cuts dusted with parmesan cheese served with a side of roasted garlic parmesan aioli. Onion Rings - Crispy beer-battered onion rings made from sliced sweet Spanish onions served with your choice of sauce. Fries Crispy crinkle cut fries We washed it down with: Cookies and Cream Shake - chocolate cookie crumbles hand spun with our house-made vanilla frozen custard. Pomegranate Sweet Basil Lemonade - Pomegranate, basil, and lemongrass mixed with our Shack-made lemonade. Mango Passionate - Mango and passion fruit puree mixed with our Shack-made lemonade. All was made fresh to order. When you order. Grab a table number. They will make fresh to order and bring it to your table by the number. For your information they have plenty of tables. Be cautious about where you sit. It is a bit chilly inside due to it is open kitchen. Especially cold if you sit and the vent happens to above you. We ended moving to another booth. we did not sit under the vent. They have plenty of tables and booths inside. And several tables outside too. All are hard wood seats with no padding as far as I know. No drive-thru at this time. Why would you want fresh food in hurry. In my opinion. If you are in the mood for a fast casual meal. They definitely have your stomach in mind and calm down your hunger. We were so satisfied and the food is delicious! Especially how fresh and made to order. A little bit of a wait. Well worth it! In my opinion. Give them a try and see for yourself. I enjoyed it and I know you will too. They do have free WiFi as far as I know for customers.

The doughnuts are delicious. I'm a particular fan of cinnamon rolls, and they have two completely different styles. There's the honey bun, the usual fried doughnut shop style, and that's as good as any I've ever had. The second is at the other end of the spectrum, not an in-between thing like Cinnabon, not one of those that's really just a loaf of bread, but a dense, chewy, yeast-raised and baked cinnamon sweet roll doused in white icing. That's my personal favorite type, and this one is top notch. And just a bit huge. My wife has tried a number of the doughnut types and raves over them. For comparison, don't think greasy, wet, sugary fat bombs like Krispy Kreme, and don't think airy and dry like grocery doughnuts. These are dense, sweet but not greasy yeast-raised doughnuts. Like LaMars, if you've ever been lucky enough to live near one. The five stars is for the pastry and the old-fashioned neighborhood cheap breakfast joint feel. Don't expect gourmet bacon and eggs. It's decent breakfast for not much money. Whaddaya want fer nuttin anyway?

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing visit to Sweet Things Metairie…read more From the moment I walked in, the service felt off. There were no menus visible, and when I asked what was available, the employee didn't offer any guidance--just asked what I wanted. When I said a dozen donuts, she pointed at the display and said "this is it." No explanation, no friendliness. Only after I specifically asked if they had breakfast sandwiches did she pull out a folded paper menu, which I found odd since it wasn't offered at the start. The biggest issue was the food quality. When I got to my car and opened the croissant breakfast sandwich, the bacon was completely burnt--so burnt it wasn't edible. I threw the entire sandwich away. The donuts were also handled poorly. Two of the iced donuts were placed upside down in the box, with the icing smashed and stuck to the packaging (as shown in the photos). Between the lack of customer service, poor food quality, and careless packaging, this was not a good experience. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend it to others.
