City greens is my favorite restaurant. That's a big thing for me to say too. I have been coming here since before Covid. I am a salad junkie so everytime one of my friends comes from out of town we grab a quick lunch here and then sit on the bayou and eat it. Everyone in there since 2019 has been so nice to me and I've never had a singular problem in there. I told my mom for my wedding one day I want city greens catered. In my personal opinion, the build your own wrap is the best. I always get the spinach wrap with Parmesan, romaine, tomatoes, croutons, tofu, and avocado with the truffle ceaser dressing. Listen to me, croutons are a MUST in your wrap. One day, I hope they bring back the hummus they used to have because it was so tasty. read more

Salad restaurants fill a fairly narrow niche in my book; after all, you can just buy some ingredients and put them together yourself. Nonetheless, when I did need a quick lunch in the area of Old Metairie and didn't have the luxury of having a lot of fresh ingredients on hand, this place filled that niche pretty well. I did not have time to customize a salad, which I would like to have done. Nonetheless, their standard Southwest salad did well for me, with some black beans and avocado getting me to where I wanted to go nutritionally. The lemonade I ordered was tasty enough, and it was a time-efficient stop. More expensive than a trip to the farmer's market? I have doordashed City Greens a couple times and every time im impressed with their consistency! Ive gotten the Truffalo Chicken as a wrap and it is my favorite! The flavor and the ingredients are always top notch that it honestly surprises me every time. I have also ordered their bbq chicken wrap which is always just as yummy! Im taking a star away because i went in person recently and they accidentally made my wrap a salad first and then had to change it and the spice ratio was way off and made it hard to eat. When it's two weeks past summer bod deadline and you're trying to moonwalk your way back to the goals you set, City Greens is a lovely local option with healthy, fresh ingredients that'll make you say, "mmmm, na-nah na-nah..." While a good pun, of which they have many, is the way to my heart, their wraps and salads have really found a way to my belly. I think to each his own, but my favorite wrap is the Thai Peanut Wrap on a spinach tortilla with Gulf shrimp, basil, cilantro, carrot, cucumber, peanuts, spinach, and spicy thai peanut sauce (heavy on the sauce). The flavors meld really well together and there is a really nice crunch. I didn't think the thai peanut sauce was spicy at all so I like to drizzle a bit of sriracha. Whilst I do miss the Farm Fresh Greek salad that they no longer have on the menu, their Caprese Salad is delightful! Cut grape tomatoes (so you're not struggling to fork them), delightfully tasty mozzarella balls, the best croutons I've ever eaten, basil, arugula, mixed greens, lemon basil vinaigrette, and a balsamic reduction. I go medium on the dressing here so as not to overpower the other ingredients, and it works really well. This is the kind of salad where you leave no ingredient behind, no mercy. The space is very clean with lovely little succulents everywhere, and a thoughtfulness when it comes to Trash and Recycling. There is a patio, but it's a touch hot for that right now. They'll give you big ol' water cups and they gots that good good Sonic ice. #winning. I know there is some talk of their prices, but when you see local brands like Bellegarde bread (possibly for their croutons which were fan-freakin'-tastic and didn't break my fork) and Willa Jean chocolate chip cookies that are worth delaying that beach bod goal just a few more days...well, that makes it less of a sticker shock when they're supporting other local businesses. read more

I'm so happy that we now have a City Greens so close to home. I've already visited several times and have been happy with the food each time. There are lots of healthy salad and wrap menu selections, and if none of them sounds appealing, you can build your own. The selection of fresh ingredients is large, so you have many choices. Also, the dressings are tasty, and they don't skimp. You can choose light, medium, or heavy dressing. They offer soups daily, and they're good too. I'm usually offered a sample of the soups and juices when I get to the register. Make sure you try what they have. I've noticed that they have a few prepackaged items near the register, but I haven't tried them yet. I think I saw tuna salad in one of the containers. My only complaint is that the prices are a little high. read more

I can't thank city greens enough! I work at a hospital in an intensive care unit and dealing with the COVID-19 patients. My parents wanted to order food for the unit, I reached out and contacted City Greens. They were so accommodating, kind and professional. We ordered 4 different wraps and fruit bowls for everyone. The wraps were absolutely delicious!!!!! I had a southwest wrap and a turkey avocado one. The food was fresh, presented nicely, tasted amazing! Trendy salad bar in Old Metairie. The set up reminded me of the salad bars I've been to when I lived in NYC. I got mixed greens with mozzarella, avocado, tomatoes, grilled chicken and balsamic vinaigrette. Overall, I enjoyed my salad. It was fresh and tasty. With that said, there could've been a bit more dressing, and the chicken was a bit chewy/dry. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but definitely very good! As far as cost, I paid almost $15 for my salad and a bottle of water, and as much as I enjoyed my salad it definitely was not big enough to justify the cost. I'd go back again since there aren't too many salad bars in the area, and like I said I really did enjoy my salad, it's just not a place I'd necessarily frequent given the cost. read more

It is 4pm on a Tuesday and I guess they've decided to close. There are employees in the store looking at me standing here. The tape on the door now says they're open till 8pm but when you call it says 6pm. But don't worry, the phone just rings and rings while the employees do their thing at 4pm so customers don't know what's going on. I get that times are tough but pick your hours and stick to them. This is not the first time I've shown up to this store being closed when the hours say otherwise. But I thought 4pm on a Tuesday was for sure safe. I always get the Thai Peanut Shrimp wrap, sometimes with seared tuna. They've always got Boylan soda pop in bottles and whatever healthy drink my hubby grabs. We eat here often... The tab for 2 salads, 2 wraps, 2 drinks and TIP (please yall, tip the STAFF, please, be classy!) is usually around $50. It is totally worth it AND super healthy! Enjoy! I've had a lot of variations of City Green in other cities - Chop't, Sweet Green, etc and have always wished we had it in NOLA. City Green is totally comparable to those places. You can order from a menu of different options or make your own salad. You walk up to the counter and tell them what kind of lettuce you want then go down the counter to order different meats, salad toppings, then dressing. The nice thing about it is they have everything you could possibly imagine, when you wouldn't necessarily stock all those ingredients in your house. It takes only about 5 minutes to order and you get a pretty heafty portion. It's the perfect spot for a quick lunch/dinner on the go and obviously a good place to keep healthy. My biggest complaint about City Green is the price - $12 for a salad at not a sit down restaurant is a bit much. But it is comparable to other places like it. There were maybe three bites of tuna on each half, and they even skimped on the vegetables, leaving me with a plain spinach wrap. I had an extremely disappointing experience with City Greens tonight. I ordered the southwest salad (with additional ingredients) for delivery on Postmates and there were multiple key ingredients missing. The salad description reads as this: "avocado, black beans, corn, tomato, shaved onion, pepper jack, blue corn chips, romaine, mixed greens, jalapeno lime dressing," but mine was entirely missing avocado, black beans, blue corn chips, and shaved onion. There was essentially nothing left besides lettuce and the items that I added on and paid extra for! What was there was good, and the cheddar cauliflower soup was delicious, but overall I felt pretty scammed. Update: I am bumping this review up to 4 stars because after posting the original review, I was contacted by management who offered to leave a giftcard at any of their locations for me so I could give it another shot. I did, and the salads I got this time were quite good (and all the ingredients were there!) Despite the poor experience to start, 4 stars for a good salad and excellent customer service. read more

They could stand to offer a few desert options that would be vegan too. The staff behind the counter was friendly and helpful. They made sure to read the ingredients on one of the salad dressings; to make sure it contained no animal products. The limited menu options gave little room to appreciate the idea of this place. Now, I will start this review by saying that before today. I've had City Greens on several occasions and absolutely LOVED IT. Here is where all of that has changed. I ordered a spinach wrap and fruit bowl for lunch and it arrived within 30 minutes. I open up on half of the wrap and there's a brown hair in it. Ok.... I look at the other wrap and there are 2 brown hairs in it. At this point, I'm disgusted and I just throw everything away. I love this place way too much for this but I really need y'all to wear hairnets because I can understand 1 hair BUT 3? What are we doing? That's why y'all lost 2 stars. Please work on this. This place is amazing. I've heard such great things from friends for a while but had not had the chance to try it until recently and boy was I impressed. I am always on a quest to find decently healthy foods in NOLA and this one has definitely moved to the top (good chopped salad places are just few and far between here!). I splurged on the build your own salad and was gleefully delighted by all the amazing topping choices (butternut squash!candied walnuts! pickled carrots!) The truffle Caesar dressing is what dreams are made of. My friend also tried the Thai chicken peanut wrap which was delicious as well, almost reminiscent of a spring roll. City Green is a really fresh and healthy quick service food option in the heart of Old Metry. Today was my first visit... the restaurant was clean, the servers friendly, and the food fresh, unique and flavorful. I had a Ceasar salad with a truffle dressing, shrimp and parmesan cheese. The salad came with hot fococia bread and I added a bag of spicy baked chips. All was fantastic and I especially enjoyed the truffle taste in the Ceasar... a unique twist on an otherwise typical dish. This location also has a nice outdoor patio... perfect for lunch on a 65 degree sunny day like today! My only complaint is with the pricing. I was with 2 other people today... everyone had a salad, a drink, and a bag of chips... $43. BOTTOM LINE: A little pricey but fresh, healthy, clean eatin! read more

I'm not a big salad person, but I was very impressed with this business. The farm to table concept is great!! I went here for a late lunch with my buddy who swears up and down by this place. He's just as much as a foodie as I, so I was definitely down. We ordered the Truffle Ceasar salads with chicken added and it was one of the best salads I've ever eaten. The veggies were super fresh as well as the chicken. Plus, the chicken comes fresh from a local farm that raises them ethically. I also tried the tomato bisque, which was also quite delicious. Word of advice though, don't try to eat your salad the next day. Most, if not all, of the ingredients here are made without any preservatives so, it will not keep for much more than a matter of hours. read more

When I lived in New York City, I remember the great salad invasion of 2009 (or so). All these little salad placed popped up all over the city and every midtown corporate monkey was running out at noon to Just Salad to get their healthy lunch in a little plastic bowl that could easily be munched out of while continuing to make spreadsheets and speak in annoying business jargon. Lucky for New Orleans (or Metairie, if we want to get technical regarding this location), we now have the salad part, but without all the other horrificness described above. City Greens is a place where you can build your own salad with whatever fixins you want, pick one of their regular menu salads, or even (gasp!) have a sandwich or a wrap -- with salad inside it, of course. There's really not much to it. You pick your stuff, they mix it up for you, and you're on your way. It's fast, it's easy, it's (relatively) inexpensive, and it might even be healthy, if you don't add the bacon and extra cheese and heavy ranch dressing. My ladyfriend loves it, so there ya go...
