This may work as a bar, but it doesn't work as a venue. The floor backs up to the bar, so when the bar lines get long they crowd out standing room to watch the DJ. It gets too packed and people are rude. I saw an inebriated man fall down and one of the bar staff just stood there and looked at him. Friends with the bouncer, skip the line. Know someone that works there? Skip the line. Single woman? Skip the line. I was almost tempted to tell the women to say that they weren't with me to get inside quicker. Also if you're VIP? Feel free to skip the line. Speaking of VIP - VIP runs the club. If you aren't VIP or paid to be VIP - I would really hesitate to even coming. If you aren't VIP you can't sit or chill. As a bouncer literally told me - 'You have to pay to sit.' On the plus side, they did have their own parking behind the building - and you shouldn't have to pay to park. While the ambiance is extremely cool and very Vegas-esque, but having to 'pay to sit' in an extremely small atmosphere and the way nothing is uniform at the door will definitely have me hesitate to coming back to the club. read more

It's definitely a vibe. Smaller than I expected and SUPER crowded. I didn't love the music that they played and wished it was more main stream or maybe I just needed to be more drunk, who knows. It's a nice looking place for sure with a big bar and fun lighting. It feels like the majority of the space is for private parties/bottle service, so that makes it feel even smaller. So far this one of my favorite club's I've been to since I moved here back in 2013. I've learned not to compare clubs from my hometown Vegas. It's a lot smaller, more on the laid back side. Every club I've been to in Kansas feels more of a lounge to me because of it's small space. It's gets very jam packed at times. None of the less, I've always had lots of fun here. The best time was when I got hammered with Patrons, and Jin and tonic, and I danced on the go go booth. I used to go go once, and I didn't like it. The last time was different, I didn't feel like I danced because it was my job. I danced, because I love dancing. The plus was there were no boys bothering me. I enjoyed Indulging in the melody, and let the glimmering lights take me to ecstasy. Conclusion: Aura always have good DJs, much better than the resident DJ that works at Mosiac. He kept on changing songs so fast, and plays the same songs twice in one night. My friends has to drag me to the dance floor every time, I'd rather just sit and drink. read more

For the countless time I have been to Aura I loved it until last Thursday. I had always counted on this place to be fun, exciting, and an amazing atmosphere to hang out with friends from out of state. When invited to a birthday celebration in vip I was excited to show my friend their first club in Kansas City! We had fun until the night was cut short for us for an unknown reason. The head of bottle service had decided to threaten me saying I walk out now or get kicked out by security. Mind you there was no prior fights let alone interactions that night. To then be bashed in front of security, and the light technician was very unpleasing and unprofessional. I had not argued let alone said any profanity and to be escorted out and have the woman talk rude to me in my ear was frustrating. I really hope the owner takes this into consideration and is able to correct the staffing. I want to be able to be able to still invite friends and spend money at this establishment but with the behavior from the woman on the 8/17/23 I don't think I will. read more

Let me start by saying I'm not a "club" type of person. However, I will set my feelings aside at times to hear live music that I enjoy listening to. Each time I've attended Aura that is what brought me here. I have enjoyed some amazing EDM djs. While the place isn't my "scene" every experience has been positive. The security at the entrance were friendly as were the bartenders who have always seemed endlessly busy. The dance floor can get a little packed later on into the evening so be aware if you don't like crowds! Aura has a number you can't text with questions. Yes, I'm one of those customers who actually utilized this service (twice)! The last time I went and closed out my tab their systems had gone down. Not a problem. Stuff happens. Later in the week I noticed my card got charged twice as a result of this. I text the number and ended up interacting with the manager, Shaun. He was extremely kind and saw the double transactions. He ended up taking care of this and I got my money back. I don't know how many places would take the time to fix this error so I was extremely appreciative. read more

If your looking for a night out to dance and relieve some energy with Friends, this would be a great choice. Majority of the music here consist of EDM and hip hop. From my experience, the DJs have all been excellent in making sure the crowd enjoys the music. Lastly, I absolutely recommend everyone to get a table here! Personally, this is what makes the club stand out from its competitor. I been going here for the past three years and thoroughly enjoyed my VIP experience. The waitresses are extremely efficient and professional. As soon as your table runs low on ice, redbull, cranberry juice or etc, you'll quickly get a refill!! Great unique LOCAL night club with an amazing sound system, live DJ's (local and out of town guest DJ's) that tends to attract a great diverse crowd of people. If you are looking for a place that is NOT a 'chain' or 'franchise' (think McDonalds and Burger King or Power and Light bars) then this is the place to be. The owner is typically on hand making sure everyone is having a great time, the music is great and fast paced, drinks are better priced than Power and Light and poured well. It is an upscale night club, they do have a dress code and there is always a nice crowd of 'beautiful people' along with the average person out for a night on the town with a date. The club is well decorated with several flat screen TV's playing video's and showing photos of the crowd. Paid for a birthday section here & I DO NOT RECOMMEND ‼I arrived 11:30pm, I was told by the door security my table was section 11 once, got to the section someone was already in my section. Ask the people in the section was they in the wrong section. Rudely shouted "No this my fucking section you ain't got one", then their bottle girl proceed to try & kick us out the section as I'm trying to explain, I just PAID $350 for a section here tonight. After miscommunication we get to the right section enjoying the night. As we was told BEFORE booking by the owner STUART we could smoke in the section, so that's what we did, as the night went on it became a problem of us smoking & was told to take it outside by the one guard by the dj booth, as we are walking outside , a BIG OVERSIZED GROWNMAN steps in my face & yells "STOP FUCKING SMOKING IN THIS CLUB NOW". I told him we know we headed outside sir & brushed passed him . He proceeded to follow Me , my sister , my cousin & best friend (ALL WOMEN) outside & continues to yell stop smoking in the club so we tell him sir we understand we outside leave us alone he gets in my face so my sister tell him you don't have to do all of that , he PUSHES (full force) her into a metal fence so she reacted & threw her drink at him, he then PUNCHED her in the FACE. I reacted & hit him back so he turns & PUNCES me in the face. Then proceeded to call for back up to kick us out the club for literally doing NOTHING wrong! My family came 8 hours to celebrate my birthday with me at this establishment & we were brutally attacked for absolutely no reason at all! Yet to hear from the owner or anyone at this club. Let's not forgot the SHERIFFS was there & did NOTHING not even detain the guy, but tells us that since we are outside the gate now just leave they'll handle it later. No report done, no names taken . Ew. Anyone who thinks Mosaic is too pretentious, you have another place for your list of places to avoid. Seemed like most of the folks here were TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL-yes all caps-and were as douchy as the decor of this dance club. If your goal is to wait 45 mins at a bar that barely has a line for an 8oz drink and to see and been seen, while you do it then you will never leave this place. If you want some beats for dancing and not feel that you might catch something from the tables or couches, do not go here. Just have a house party because this club, like many others like it in KC, is trying too hard to be something you'd find in LA or NY and is wayyy off the mark. I have danced in those kinds of clubs and they were worlds above what Aura has to offer. Because this was an MLS event and I have some friends who play soccer, I was on the list for my trip to this place but apparently others had to pay $10 to get in the door. Strike one in my book. The bar line was only about two deep the entire night with 2-3 bartenders on staff but no trip (to get water and wait for my friends to get booze) was less than 30 minutes long. We joked that my friends should get two drinks each but the prices were insane so no one wanted to make that investment in the hopes that we would be leaving shortly. I finally decided to leave the party after about an hour and a half-if that-and I do not feel that I missed anything. I wasn't drinking because I was DD but someone else decided not to drink too so I knew my other four friends were in good hands and I could split. I had work the next day and none of the others did. The lights above and below the dj booth were cool and the dance floor was pretty spacious but separate from most of the couches. The talent that I saw on that floor-looks and skill wise-were not impressive. As pretentious as it sounds, my one-footed running man (due to the stress fractures in my other foot) were more impressive than much of the drunken stumbling around from most of the women on that floor. I do not fancy myself a pro by any means but simple bobbing to a beat was more than some of them could muster. I saw more than one thong and I am glad that I left before anyone could get any drunker. People were already starting to grind up and down on each other in the two raised pedestals surrounded by sparkle lights so I took that as my cue to leave around 1am. So you know, if you want to dance to some techno'd Bieber in sexy dresses with your girls for a bachelorette party, give it a shot but chances are you won't see me there. It's been awhile since I have heard great things about this place, and since my friend has a birthday party celebration in the VIP area of this place, I was blessed with the opportunity to check it out with a group of friends. It did not live up to the hype. I mean, don't get me wrong, it is decent for what it's worth. The drinks are good, the bartenders are cool, and the DJ is acceptable. However, the crowd that goes to this club really killed it for me. Coming from a bboy background (breakdancers for those that don't know, I been to quite a few competitions that are hosted in a bar setting. People danced and vibed out like there is no tomorrow in those kinds of events. This is clearly not the case in this club. Yes, people dance, but it looks more like bunch of intoxicated individuals swaying left and right and occasionally lifted their hands up to the music. Being in the VIP area, that means we have access to a few free bottle services. In addition, since we were celebrating a birthday, the birthday boy got a free bottle that is equipped with a sparking fuse that is lit. At least that's something I haven't seen a club does. The club itself owns a private parking lot that has very limited space, so if you have plans to come here, do arrive early and get your car in there, since parking otherwise can prove to be difficult. the club itself is located next to a pizza joint that also offers burgers,pizzas, wings, and other things that are nothing short of a perfect way to end your nightly endeavor. read more

Mixed thoughts on this place. Very fun to dance you butt off! Awesome pizza conveniently next door and they have a coat check (for $). Good drinks, good music, upbeat environment. There is a cover but if you get on the list prior to coming you won't have one, fairly easy to get on! My first trip to Aura was an absolute success. It is a fun and up-beat club with a great DJ. The security team was very professional and seemed to be on top of their game. The bartenders are attentive and do well with the amount of people that were requesting drinks. The club has a VIP lounge and a few booths. The girls working there, bring out bottles with sparklers which is a neat touch for celebrations. The dance floor is dead center of the club next to a large DJ booth. There are a couple of platforms as well for women (only) to dance on. It was a good diverse mix of people. Parking can be challenging which is expected. read more

One of the neatest places to dance in KC for a girls night out! The music is great with a live DJ every night, the club is clean with very good security, locally owned and managed by people who clearly love what they do and a great lighting system. Drinks are less expensive than the Power and Light area and there is a great pizza place next door for when you leave but need to eat before heading home. We had bottle service/table service which was well done, the server brought us anything we needed quickly and the price was 1/2 that of Hotel or most of the other clubs. The table given to us was behind the DJ booth which was neat since we could look over the entire place and 'people watch' while also seeing what the DJ's were mixing. Aura is a smaller club, we often run into friends and the bartenders recognize us which makes you feel more welcome. Went to Aura and experienced discrimination. I was in town with my brother and he was informed that he could not enter 'with sweat pant joggers' (he's African American). 5 minutes later an individual enters the club 'with an entire sweat suit -- joggers n hoodie', 'white tennis' and 'a hat' (he's Caucasian). We confronted the person at the front door and he without a doubt denies (he's mexican) that he just let someone in with the "same joggers". My husband and I are from out of town, and had a great time at this club on a Monday night. We got a table and ordered a bottle. Our server was super cute and checked on us just the right amount. The music was great the DJs kept the crowd hyped and the lighting was perfect. We do like to step outside so I hope the back patio one day ends up equally as dope as the inside.
