Mosaic is one of those places you either really enjoy or it's not for you. Some of my friends are always down to go, others would never consider it. I really like Mosaic because it's a nightclub with trendy DJ's, a great outside patio that overlooks the KC Live! block and lively dancefloor (usually started to heat up by 10-ish). And because it's in the Power and Light District, it feels safe to me (compared to other nightclub locations in the city). I have had good experiences with the crowd there and haven't felt uncomfortable or out of place. What I don't like is the cover - it is typically $20 which is steep for a Kansas City club. I try to go on the earlier side and/or for special or ticketed events where the cover is waived or the cost feels more "worth it." Last time I went the drinks weren't anything special (typical club mixed drinks, beer, etc.) but that's what I expect from a nightclub. And I think they do try to improve their more specialized cocktail offerings. I would suggest taking an Uber/Lyft to PNL or street parking in the North Crossroads and walk over. Otherwise you'll have to pay to park in the KC Live Garage. The KC Live Garage is located at 151 E. 13th St. The garage is operated by Towne Park and has 1000 parking spaces and is equipped with electric vehicle charging station.. "If his *faggot ass*wouldn't have said anything you guys would have gotten in no problem. That's what we were told after some of my group paid $68 to just get into the bar. We were still in line not even in the actually bar yet! We got 2 drinks, and then a $20 cover fee. The blonde bouncer, about 5'4 started claiming that one of our friends said something to him. We kept asking what was said but the only thing we got from him was "idk what he said but he said something and he needs to tell me or you guys can leave" our friend was wearing a crop top and dancing a little in line so maybe the bouncer didn't like his look.. No point in arguing with club staff so we left. Thank GOODNESS we got our cover pack from the girl taking money. When one of my friends went back up to ask him what was said this is when the blonde bouncer replied to him him that " if our fa**ot a*ass friend didn't say anything we could have gotten in no problem." Mind you one of my girlfriends was talking to this bouncer and he started complaining about how people call him mean names and cuss at him etc. Yet he turned around and calls my friend a Fa**got??? the music tonight was NOT it. the djs were mid and they kept playing country edm like?? cover is $20 I expect to hear more of other types of music other than country ? it gets crowded and hot. the drinks are $20 so expect to spend a lot. there's barely any alcohol in them either. i've came here a lot and the music is not that good but this time it was just unbearable. i would at least be a little better if the drinks were like $5-10 but no.... can't even be drunk without spending $20 on cover and then another $40 for just two drinks. if you're going to go out in P&L you'll have a better time somewhere else. read more

So this is a nightclub that looks really cool in pictures, but once you get there you think "oh wow, this is a lot smaller than I expected." I have to admit the set-up is pretty nice and the lights are cool, aside from it being pretty small. There's a very photogenic outside patio area where you can get your basic picture in front of the glowy, neon lights (peep down below for my basic pic). Unfortunately, the music was not very good and the drinks were insanely overpriced (which you can expect anywhere in P&L). With all of this being said, Mosaic is still one of my favorite nightclubs in KC, I just knocked it down to three stars because quality music and drinks are important to me and that's hard to find in a nightclub. This place reminds me of Miami or LA - legit club scene with great DJs #cashcash. It is on the pricier side but it's a great night if you're out with a fun group!! Bottle service will run you $250 +. Getting a table is worth it if you want some extra private space - but frankly even if you have a table it is SUPER crowded. Our waitress was fantastic! All in good fun, just super crowded, which, depending on your scene, is a good thing. read more

There are some good nights. But they are rare. Here is MY opinion as to why: Starting at 10:30pm on 03.04.2022, the DJs we're playing the SAME. BASE. BEAT. FOR . 45. MINUTES. I even showed the DJs this message typed in my Notes app: PLAY A DIFFERENT BASE/BACKGROUND BEAT. PLEASE. IM BEGGING YOU. ITS BEEN THE EXACT SAME THING FOR THE LAST 45 MINUTES. Their response: laughed and shook their heads. Most DJs would take that as a challenge, and mix it up more. Nope! Not these two. They kept taking photos with drunk people and acted like they were doing fantastic job. It was a very typical male-response to a woman calling them out for their less than mediocre performance. I get it, not everyone is a pro DJ. But if your bar's main appeal is as an EDM haven in the Midwest, don't cheap out on DJs. If that doesn't bother you and you don't pay much attention to music when you're drunk and dancing: GO FOR IT. Love this place on some nights. But this night made me so incredibly disappointed. I remember MOSAIC being better before COVID lockdown. I wish it would go back to that. read more

Mosaic is hands down the BEST club in Kansas City. any review that says differently is an example of why exclusivity is key when it comes to being the best. If they didn't have a dress code, code of conduct, cover charge, etc. that all of these negative reviews complain about, they would be just like any other unpopular venue in Kansas City. Eric Coomes is an incredible DJ, i've been going almost every weekend for over a year now and he is still my all time favorite. The bar staff and the bottle service staff are some of the highest quality i've ever experienced. If you get the chance to experience Mosaic, I highly recommend it. I went to Mosaic for the first time last night, and the experience was pretty good. When we arrived a little after 10pm, it was not very crowded. However, the venue was smaller than I had imagined, and within a couple hours it was packed. Overall, the music was decent, but it was very Top 40 heavy and the DJ rarely played more than 30 seconds of the same song. The drinks were pretty good, but nothing phenomenal. I enjoyed my night here, but not enough to make it a favorite of mine. read more

UGH. Like someone else said, if you are not VIP you will not get into this stupid place. The line for non-VIP is probably about...oh...60 people long and believe me, it does not move. We went to Howl at the Moon, came back, and I'm pretty sure I saw the same people standing there as I did when I left. It is ridiculous. Also, they make themselves out to be a dance club, but it is so packed you can't dance. You just sort of stand there, awkwardly, waiting for the drunk girl next to you to stop flailing her arms so you can get out of there. I have this theory that Mosaic is so packed every Fri. and Sat. night because it's filled with people who haven't been there yet. Once KC runs out of those people, I'm sure Mosaic's appeal will wear off. read more

We bought a table at a charity auction and communicated with a promoter prior to arriving who told us she had it all set up for us and our guests. Not only did they give us the smallest table in the far corner, they then 'resold' it to another group later in the night and let a bunch of guys take over our table. Some of our guests had items stolen from them as well. Shockingly terrible service unlike anything I've experienced in a club before. Very disappointing because we were really looking forward to having a fun night. Won't be returning and would NOT recommend. UPDATE: Management apparently thinks they 'explained the situation' to our group, this still doesn't explain why they created such a hostile and uncomfortable situation to begin with. They don't enforce capacity limits, they don't bus tables or throw away trash enough, and they also don't search people entering the club either, so you could easily get shot or stabbed here. Overall, I been attending this club on and off. In every attendance, I always enjoyed my time there. Security staff are for the most part are professional and efficient. There are multiple stations within the club and on the patio that allows for easy access to the purchase of almost any alcoholic beverage. Also, I want to give a recommendation to Madison. If your looking for a professional promoter who responses promptly, this is my number one recommendation. I have had 5 VIP tables through her and each experience has been absolutely amazing. The venue itself is really cool! Everything looks nice. The issue is the service. The bartenders look miserable, and they are so slow. Not once did one say thank you or even smile back. Because it's apparently not in the system and the bartenders think it's extremely fancy lol the chubby bartender charged my friend don Julio blanco (i think) X5. It was $60 lol I'm from Chicago, i always drink 1942, i have NEVER paid 60 for a shot of it. And if that was actually their price okay sure whatever. If you're old folk like me at 31 years old and are just now visiting an EDM dance club for the very first time -- and you enjoy dancing and don't mind crowds -- you're going to have a good time at Mosaic! Maybe I've just been living under a rock. I visited Mosaic with a bachelorette party, and we stayed at Mosaic for probably an hour or a little longer. We went on a Saturday night around 10:30 p.m., and the club was very crowded. I thought the crowd added extra energy to the atmosphere, so I didn't mind the crowd. There was no cover to get inside. My four stars instead of five comes with my slight disappointment with the DJ. While he stuck with mostly popular songs -- think Top 40 or a wedding reception -- he only played about 20-30 seconds of each song before mixing in a new song. For example, when he played Apache's "Jump On It," I was only able to jump around twice, or do two full spins/rotations to the line dance, before the DJ moved to a new song. I wanted to hear the song in full! Perhaps this is the style of such a club/DJ, and I just didn't know that. I only ordered one drink there, but the bartender was prompt and friendly. I would recommend Mosaic if you like dancing with the strict caveats that you don't mind a big crowd of people and don't mind loud music. read more

Guys wear shirts that have tattoo designs because they are too pussy to actually get the tattoos. Most guys over the age of 30 here have roommates because all their money goes to partying and coke. The girls have a chance to wear a tight form fitting dress and have guys try and compete for their attention buy offering bottle service or free drinks. If you don't live in KC: You are just looking for a place to dance and have a good time with good people watching. No problem here. I've been to plenty of douchey type clubs outside of my area code. It makes for good stories. So, if you like to have your picture taken, wear clothes that make you look ridiculous, love bottle service and a little bit of blow, it's the place for you. read more

I was visiting from out of town, was looking for a place for me and my boyfriend and two others to hang, and this place caught my eye. so i got in line...Thats about as far as i got, as soon as we got to the front, which was after 35mins of waiting, they stop letting people in. they said a 15 wait period to clear off tables. what a bunch of bs, they were letting many people in where the VIP ropes are, and i will say one or two of the parties did buy bottles, but the rest of them were friends of the door people. it was a bunch of bs. So we wait 20 minutes, then grab the guy and he tells us that he doesn't know when they are letting people in. next time I'm in town WONT EVEN try to go to this place, and i would tell everyone the same. read more

Update: Down rating to a one. I recently "won" a " VIP" night. It's pretty much a scam, they'll sell your information and in turn you might have a chance to win a few free WELL drinks per hour from 9 to 11, but try to screw you out of your last hour of tickets or any way they can, so you won't get your drink tickets. They'll tell you your friends get the perk of getting half of drinks and free entry, but it's already that price for everyone if you get there before 11pm. They don't give you a table or anything. The notification for winning is so vague too, I felt lied to and disappointed. Twas' a disappointment and not worth the random spam phone calls I recieve almost every day. This lounge is a hit or miss for me. I mostly come here when UF throws after parties or events here. I love the lighting, decor, and patio; but there's something about this place that irks me... It might be the mean mugging stuck up bitches, or the douchebags, or the creepy old men that eye-f**k you and don't even offer to buy you a drink (lol jk). Another annoyance of this place is trying to get a drink, people just crowd around the bar to talk. Please leave room for others to get their drink and be able to leave the bar once they get them. read more

It was crowded but I can bit a bit self-absorbed and wasn't really paying attention to strangers. We went early so no problem with the line although to have an extra cover at power and light seems silly. For that, I will probably not be back. At one point I was dancing on a podium with my boyfriend and the bouncer told my boyfriend to get off. They only wanted girls up there! So then I stepped off. I don't like rules - especially when you're paying a bit for KC. Also, what is up with all the bathroom attendants in power and light? As someone not from KC this club is definitely a lot of fun. Got in before 11 so didn't have to pay cover, drinks were reasonably priced and the bartender was very attentive and we didn't have to wait more then 5 minutes for drinks. Music was good but depends on the dj because at times it was very choppy and they didn't let the whole song play or even 30 seconds of it. The only downfall was that towards like 1 pm it got extremely crowded but that will happen anywhere. Overall, Power and light district was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend coming here for a night out over any bar in Westport. read more

I was fortunate to be able to attend the Ink VIP party at Mosaic before the official opening and its definitely a cool, fairly unique new place. I don't buy the "feels like you're in South Beach or LA club type of feel." It doesn't feel much different than Blonde, NV, Seven or the old Empire Room did, in terms of vibe and sophistication. The best part about it, in my mind, is the outdoor area. Its on the second floor of the P&L and features a gorgeous, romantic, unobstructed view of the H&R Block, One Kansas City Place and other downtown buildings and at night, its pretty incredible. Great place to bring a date after dinner and enjoy a warm summer night. I'll likely go there again, but I'm not much for the crowd that frequents places like this in KC so it remains to be seen if this ends up just being another Blonde or something really different. read more

The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because I was able to jump the line. Maybe it was because I was a lady, however, I have experienced way better. THIS CLUB DOWNRIGHT SUCKED! It was like a hole in the wall. I assumed it was going to be posh. The decorations in the club are okay. I came on a Friday, maybe this is the day people's fashion is horrible?. The way it is advertised on the website I assumed it was stylish people in a posh club. Not even close. At least my drink was served in a prompt matter. Kudos to the lady bartender. But, I never went back for more drinks. I do not know if Fridays are their off days or not, but I am disappointed in this club. It is not what it advertises. read more
