This is my first time in Kansas City and I was looking for a line dancing venue and was in between this place and Thirsty Bull Saloon, and I'm so glad I opted for this place. Line dancing lessons started at 7:00pm and went on for about an hour and we learned four different dances. The instructor was so fun and easy to follow. I stayed for a while after the lessons and the ambiance was fun, energetic and it did get a bit crowded but it was nice to experience the line dancing scene in KC! Highly recommend and I hope to be back on the dance floor whenever I return!

Love going here for a date night with my husband. Drink prices are reasonable and live music is always great. $10 cover on weekends but some weeknights are free to get in.

Great time with a live band! We came on a weekend and it was absolutely packed but great vibes. Got a table a few hours in which helped. Great mix of couples and especially line dances toward the end of the night!

It's always a good time here! I feel safe and it's close to home. Great security and great service! Amazing music and atmosphere. Aces!

I'm not a country music fan but this place is always a fun place to come to and enjoy the music, dance or just people watch. Cover charge $5-$10. Plenty of parking. Reasonable price on drinks.

Get harassed by bouncers and they harass other people especially about dancing to certain songs.

Even walking in, we weren't quite sure what to expect. The entrance is small, and you're greeted right away, which was a nice touch. Once inside, it's very dark with deep red lighting--almost like stepping into a cave. It took a moment for our eyes to adjust, but once they did, we immediately felt at ease. The space is cozy and perfectly aligned with its purpose: it's all about the jazz. The service was great--welcoming, attentive, and added to the overall experience without taking away from the music. And the music? Absolutely captivating. It pulls you in and transports you--you can't help but settle into the vibe and just enjoy the moment together. We went on a Monday, so there was plenty of seating, but I noticed there's also a lower level that likely accommodates larger weekend crowds. There's a solid drink menu and a small selection of food, but honestly, this isn't the place you come for a full meal. Come for the drinks, stay for the music, and soak in the atmosphere.

The place was fairly crowded and noisy at 6pm on a Saturday. The drinks were priced well and our waitress was awesome. We ordered a side of fries to get some food in our belly and we certainly won't make that mistake again - processed mashed potatoes formed into fat spiral shapes are not French Fries!!! My only complaint. After the concert we crossed back over the tracks and paid $5 cover charge for more drinks and to listen to Dating Sarah - fantastic cover band that had the place rocking at 10pm. We stayed for 2 sets and had a great time. I really liked the old school dive bar vibe in an old building that seemed out of place for Johnson County's upper middle class suburban aesthetic. A repeat return for all my future Green Guitar events and maybe some pizza next time - and for the love of god Jerry, get a new french fry distributor.

For those non-locals like me who haven't been going for 20 years, it's an outdoor free music festival held once a year in Corporate Woods Business Park. All donations and proceeds concessions and such go to local children's charities. What I really appreciated about the event was that many of the concessions were run by local favorites like La Bodega, Jack Stack and Bo Ling's. Don't worry though, you can still get your nacho's and funnel cake for those seeking a some traditional fair food. Beer, wine and sangria also flows aplenty! Live Jazz playing Friday and Saturday night and there's a fun run on Saturday morning. Personally the run is not for me after all the Sangria from Friday night, you won't catch this girl tackling a 5K or 10K. But don't worry runners, I'm here for moral support! I'll meet you for another glass of Sangria at the finish line! Hints - Don't bring a cooler, they aren't allowed as you are supposed to buy the food there. Before you complain remember it's for the kids. Trust me I'm using that line all weekend "I need this kettle corn, it's for the kids!" - Bring blankets and lawn chairs, no seating in the park. Unless you are going fancy and buying a seat ($60) in the jazz pavilion (read: picnic tabled area with while picket fence)! - Bring cash. Enough said. - Come early to stake out your claim in the grass and to deal with parking. How can you not love it? Free jazz, an excuse to relax in the park all afternoon and evening and eat and drink your weight in goodies from local eateries! This might have to be my new KC tradition!

Recently, I went to the Knuckleheads Garage to see the Texas Headhunters, which is a newer band featuring my favorite guitar player and singer Ian Moore. The experience was pretty great from start to finish. I was able to buy a ticket online and save it to my Apple wallet. It was super easy to get in. Parking was on-site and plentiful. They had a great opening act that was a local band from Kansas City. I liked that the drinks were affordable and super cold. I got a tall Quirk for $8. Beers were similarly priced. Later in the evening, I got hungry and scored a hotdog for six dollars. The whole place is cash only. Be advised you will not tap to pay. They have an ATM on site if you need cash. The concert was fantastic! The band was amazing and I was very pleased with the experience. This was a planned night out that we were genuinely excited about. My husband was removed from the venue for "swaying" a few times on the dance floor. That was it. No aggression, no disruption, no intoxicated behavior, no confrontation. He has severe knee issues and was simply shifting his weight while standing and enjoying the music. Instead of checking in or handling the situation with any kind of discretion or compassion, security immediately escalated it and kicked us out entirely. It was humiliating, unnecessary, and completely ruined our night. We lost our VIP experience, the show we traveled for, and the money spent on tickets and lodging. There was absolutely no attempt to understand the situation or treat us like paying customers. This could have been handled in a respectful way, but it was not. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, and I would caution others that security here seems overly aggressive and unwilling to use basic judgment. A night that was meant to be fun turned into an awful memory. Side note: We did not drive , we took uber to and from hotel. It was an expensive evening-RUINED! Also , I googled voodoo lounge after we got back to hotel and the aggressive behavior seems to be a trend of theirs. Something needs to change. We had a lady directly in front of us thrashing about and spilling her drink ALL OVER THE FLOOR and she was left alone. Made zero sense.
