The clinician called me to ask if I could come in early and I said yes hoping to be feeling better but as I began to work on some things at home I felt worse and worse. (I just found out I have Covid). I attempted to reschedule through Vagaro, but because my appointment was less than six hours away, the system would not allow me to do so. I called the salon and was informed by a staff member that I would be charged a $10 cancellation fee despite being sick and wanting to reschedule rather than cancel outright. Since my service was only an underarm wax, the fee amounted to approximately 40% of the total service cost. I asked whether an exception could be made given the circumstances, but was told it was the "manager's policy." The response felt very scripted and lacked any empathy for the situation. I ultimately agreed to pay the fee, but asked that the manager be informed they had lost a customer over $10. Unfortunately, the experience became even more disappointing. The manager, Sarah, called me after I had already explained that I was sick and wanted to discuss the situation. I was really not feeling well and did not appreciate receiving a call to discuss this further. I told the manager that, because I wasn't feeling well, the only discussion I was interested in having was whether the cancellation fee would be refunded. Instead of addressing my concern, Sarah ended the call abruptly by HANGING UP ON ME. I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, but customer service and compassion matter. A little flexibility for a client who woke up sick and was trying to reschedule, not avoid paying, would have gone a long way. Instead, I was charged a fee that represented a significant portion of the service cost and was treated in a way that ensured I won't be returning. If you book here, just be aware that if you wake up sick on the day of your appointment, you should expect the cancellation fee to be enforced regardless of the circumstances.

One special thing to note is if you book a service that's at least an hour, you receive a complimentary foot soak as long if you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. This was a nice touch. When I arrived, Cristina, from the front desk walked me to their quiet room, which has the ultimate relaxation vibes. She was amazing! She had my foot soak ready to go, along with a heated neck wrap and a blanket. On top of that, she made me a delicious vanilla chamomile tea, accompanied by a chocolate. A literal pampering angel. My facial was done by Chasity. She was also so nice and she gave me plenty of time to change and get comfortable in the spa bed. She listened to my skin concerns and tailored the products for my face. Throughout my appointment, she explained each step of the facial. At one point I was so relaxed, I fell asleep. It honestly feels like I paid for nothing. They finished a full face in less than 10 minutes, which has never happened at any other threading place I've been to. My daughter also got her eyebrows done, and they gave her a horrible shape. I would never come back and would not recommend this place to anyone. I have paid a total of $102 for the worst service ever. This place has changed ownership, and the girls who used to work here are no longer there, and it really shows.

I would leave 10 stars for Aura Nail Place, if I could! From the moment you walk through the front door, you are greeted with warm smiles and exceptional customer service. Everyone is so professional, kind, and they check with you every step of the way to make sure you are happy with your nails. My technicians were Tam (for my nails) and Tammy (for my toes) and both are absolutely amazing. I have been to Tam several times for dip nails, and he is a true nail artist. I showed him a design I was thinking about, and he created nails that were even more beautiful than I thought possible! This salon is under new management, being run by a 23 year old male , who sits at the front desk putting together models ,eating ,drinking, not paying attention to what needs to be done, Puts on blood and gore on the tv had to watch women being assalted, people getting heads chopped off , is this what should be on when you go to relax and have your mani- pedis?Not for me, really too bad love my girl, this business will go down the crapper real soon if he does not tend to business. Her tone upset me so much that I ended up tearing up. And apparently, even expressing how I felt was too much, because shortly afterward I was removed from her Instagram. ‍ Honestly? That's okay. What really bothers me is that Julie aais plenty of things about the drama surrounding the salon. Julie talked about the owner (Lynn) and other situations. I should have paid attention to those red flags instead of brushing them off. So here's my warning: if you can't handle a customer respectfully bringing up a concern, maybe customer service isn't for you. I won't be returning to Peony Nail Lounge, and I personally would not recommend Julie or the salon. This is MY experience. During my most recent visit, I turned on Google Translate and heard a staff member making derogatory comments about my appearance in their language. Specifically, they said that "all this skin could be be made as pork grinds." Hearing this as a customer was shocking, offensive, and deeply inappropriate. No customer should ever be spoken about this way, regardless of language. It created a very uncomfortable and disrespectful environment. In addition to this, this is not the first issue I have had here. On a prior visit, I was almost overcharged and only after asking to see the receipt did the staff suddenly realize the total was incorrect and said it had been a mistake. During this same recent visit, when I tried to pay using Zelle or Venmo, I used the exact phone number that was posted on their payment sign. I was told the number was wrong and that the payment had not been received. Only after I showed my confirmation screen and pointed out that I used their posted number did the staff say it was fine. Taken together, the derogatory comments, attempted overcharging, and confusing payment handling show a pattern of unprofessional and concerning behavior. This experience crossed several lines, and I will not be returning. This raises concerns how many other customers may have been overcharged in these cases. This is clearly a pattern of behavior, not a one-time mistake, and I will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau.
