Was really excited about finding a new esthetician in the Portland area. It had been a while since I've gotten a good facial, plus I just had a baby and self-care had been on my mind and especially important to me. I had reached out and they were unable to get me in even though I was open 6 weeks out. They came back around and "squeezed me in" but did not forget to NOT SO SUBTLY remind me that a 20% and upwards tips were basically expected... ok, that's fine.. I always tip my service providers.. ALWAYS.. I was a nail technician for 10 years! I had to reschedule my appointment because a situation came up last minute and I was not able to find last minute childcare. I contacted them 8 days out to cancel. I was told that Sunshine would be contacting me to reschedule. This was over 30 days ago. I reached out again after not hearing from anyone 2 weeks ago and was told I would get a phone call.. literally nothing. When I contacted them again, I definitely did not feel the customer service was at all present. Maybe they are very busy with the Groupon deals... but if you are unable to provide service in a timely manner, then putting out deals does not help your clients or your business. Bottom line is: I didn't ask for any royal or VIP treatment. I believe giving a business multiple chances to do what they promise to (return my phone call to reschedule me) within a timely manner isn't asking too much and when I voice my concerns I expect some form of customer service for my patronage. Base on scheduling alone, I will not be using their service. I'm going to wait to go to the girl that I use for waxing at Lotus Blossom Organic Spa (Angelica is seriously amazing at what she does. She also has Groupon deals but I have never been made to feel like my business doesn't matter!) Also- I'm getting my money back from Groupon! read more

I was so excited about getting a facial and about finding someone I could go to regularly to get my skin cleared up. I used to live in Arizona and the weather change has really messed up my skin. The place is very cute and sits above a hair salon which is very very noisy. My aesthetician was named sunshine and she was very nice but she had just eaten something and smelled like food her hands smelled like garlic. She cleansed my face very quickly and then put a steamer on me very closely to where it was suffocating me. Then she left the room for about 7-10 minutes. I had pads on my eyes so I couldn't see the steamer to move it out-of-the-way and I didn't want to sit up because I might burn myself. It is a big liability to leave a client alone with a hot steam on their face. It actually burned my upper lip. Then she also left the room when I was masking. Also my hour treatment started at 2 PM and I was out by 2:50 that included me putting my clothes on and checking out. Of the 45 minutes of the actual treatment, I was alone for about 15-20 minutes. Just laying there. I can do that at home. It was one of the most horrible facials I have ever gotten when I left I was caked with Dewey moisturizer I had to go home and wash my face she also did not do any extractions. And try to upsell me several times. Buyer beware! I will not be back. Since posting my experience this is what I received from the owner (attached) very unprofessional. I don't think she even knows who I am since she didn't use a cleansing brush on me. It was my first time there, so how was I supposed to just know when she left the room she could still hear me? She never said, holler if you need me. She just said "steam away" and left the room. I since have found a great place for customized facials and my esthetician never leaves the room or tries to sell me on more than I need. read more

My first impression was of the lovely space I walked into. Very clean, professional, and relaxing energy. I have had lots of facials in my years but this one was by far my favorite. I just had an amazing skin treatment experience at Aura Aesthetics. I went to see Shine on a recommendation. She did not disappoint. I walked in filled out my initial intake forms in the waiting area and then she took me into her private treatment room . The atmosphere was clean, organized and I felt completely comfortable (the treatment table is amazing). Shine's consultation, service (I got one of the many different peel services that Aura Aesthetics offers), and post instructions were thorough and left nothing for me to question. dear sunshine, i'm writing this to you because i know of now other way to get your attention. on November 20th i purchased my wife a Groupon for three visits to your business. she called to make an appointment and initially a voicemail indicated you were booked out through the rest of November and would be returning calls after the beginning of December. no calls were returned after the beginning of December. on the 2nd week of December we visited your location and left a hand written note which prompted you to call. this is the only time we've spoken to you. during that call my wife explained the limitations of her schedule; she has to pick up our son at 3p on school days. also during that call you apologized for the scheduling issues and attributed them to an employee or employees who declined to take Groupon clients due to poor tipping. by the end of the call an appointment was made for 1/4/18. a week before the appointment you asked if it could be changed to 2p. this would not work, my wife explained. however, you moved the appointment to 2p anyway. then you cancelled it the day of the appointment because you were in salem and couldn't make it back in time. text messages since then have gone unreturned. calls to your number are met with "the voicemail box is full" or aren't returned. we have never worked so hard to spend $155. actually Groupon makes it easy to spend the money. the hard part is getting the services we paid for. we wondered if our experience was unique. a review on yelp told us we weren't alone. in the review it's clear that this isn't your first groupon experience and you bemoan how much money you make from them. given that fact it's mystifying why you would ever do it again. it's equally mystifying why you would do it without the support of your other team members and that you would blame THEM for scheduling issues. be prepared to handle the uptick in calls so you can deliver the five-star service you claim to possess. you may be a five-star esthetician but your customer service doesn't register a single star. we asked for you to issue us a refund for $155 ten days ago but, wait for it, that call has not been returned. so we would like to issue a warning to other groupon customers who think they're getting something they paid for. read more
