I've now gone in to see Lisa about 6 times for laser hair removal, and she is absolutely the best. I was weary picking a place for this particular service since it was the Brazilian treatment, and wow did I make the right decision!! Not only is her salon lovely, but Lisa herself is a gem. I decided to write this review in the hopes that others will read it and think twice before deciding to visit Lisa. I've seen Lisa maybe 8x over the past 3 years. At first I liked her a lot, her prices were good and she seemed to know what she was doing. But quickly I started experiencing extremely questionable behavior, she seemed to make decisions about her business on the fly and as opposed to what she said when I met her, "I guess I could charge more money but I care more about my clients..." she suddenly she spiked her prices extremely high and behaved in a way that showed me she cared far more about how much money she was making than being fair to her clients. Here are some things I experienced with Lisa: 1) I got micro-needling twice from her. The first time I had the procedure, at the end she attempted to sock me with an additional $25 for a healing ointment I was supposed to use in the following few days. I've had many facials and laser treatments over the years and NOT ONCE has anyone thrown a charge at me like this without telling me beforehand. Not only that, this ointment she gave me? It was the tiniest bottle you could imagine, hardly anything and I found it for 1/3 less price everywhere on the internet. She literally tripled the price and attempted to sell it to me, something she should have included in the full, listed price for the procedure and should have told me beforehand. I objected and said she couldn't conduct business that way. She quickly relented. 2) For micro-needling your skin needs to be numb because otherwise it's pretty painful. This is something THE AESTHETICIAN does... it's part of the procedure. During my second micro-needling, Lisa had the gall to suggest I go out and BUY MY OWN numbing cream, apply it myself at home and come to her salon already numb so she could lessen the appointment time to, I suppose, squeeze in more clients? As if $180 an hour (the price at the time, she's since increased that by 80%) isn't enough for someone who was paying a miniscule $450 rent on her space. I was speechless. Hey how about if I pay for all the cleansers and masks you apply on my face too? I looked at her and didn't say a word. She dropped the issue. 3) Over the few years I saw her which amounted to maybe 6 or 7 times, the amount of time she would spend on me for micro-dermabrasion got less and less yet her price continued to increase. She initially spent about 1.5 hours which is pretty standard. The last time I saw her it was barely an hour and see seemed to spend far too much time talking and doing nothing. 4) When I first had micro-needling from her 3 years ago she charged $165. Even though she outright owns the machine she uses, as of this summer her price was a ludicrous $295. She gives you a deal on 3 treatments and takes off additional if you bring her CASH. I asked if she would reduce the charge by 1/2 since I have a beard and she would only be doing half my face. At this point I wasn't surprised that she said "no because I'll still be working on you for the same amount of time"... which made ZERO sense because if you're only doing half my face.... COME ON. You can only micro needle the skin for a certain amount of time too so it's a mystery as to what she would spend the rest of the time on. Another example of Lisa caring far more about money than doing right by her clients. I have since found 3 aestheticians and 2 dermatology offices that only charge HALF PRICE for HALF A FACE. 5) In July I went to Lisa for micro-dermabrasion. During the procedure she asked if I wanted a peel too. I asked her if it was a strong peel and if I would be very red the next day because I'm a MAIL CARRIER IN THE SUN ALL DAY, which she knew. She said "oh no, it's a mild peel, you might be a little red for 12 hours but nothing more." Mind you Lisa KNEW my skin and how easily it gets red and she CERTAINLY knew how strong that peel was. It sounded mild enough so I said ok. She put it on and after a few minutes it began to burn like a MAJOR chemical peel. I told her it was burning a lot and she said it would calm down. Well it didn't and I asked her to take it off. The next day... my skin was RED AS A BEET all over and was very uncomfortable. As the day progressed and I had to work it got redder and redder despite putting on 70 SPF sunscreen. By the time I got home my skin looked like a 2nd degree burn and was so red IT HURT. The next day I had off fortunately but my skin was STILL red like a very bad sunburn and was actually painful. I was FURIOUS with Lisa. I specifically told her this is NOT what I wanted but she went ahead and gave me a major peel anyway. I texted her about it and she said "well what are you putting on your face?" Are you KIDDING ME? At that point I expressed my sincere anger at what she did... she didn't respond. This is the real Lisa. I just wanted to share my experience with people who might be thinking about using her. I sure as hell won't ever again. read more

I am so glad I found Lisa! I have tried a lot of facial places in Portland, and I have to say, Lisa is one of the best estheticians I have found. I love that she does more medical grade peels than other places I have gone to, and she also does two procedures that are not as well known: Micro-Needling and Thermo-Lo. I did some research regarding Micro-Needling, and wanted to give it a try. It's good for scarring and improving skin texture and I felt like my skin could use some improvement in both of those areas. I got a couple of treatments done with Lisa last fall, and I'm really happy with the results. I also got a couple of Thermo-Lo treatments done as well. This was another area I had researched, and was really interested in getting rid of some white spots on my face that had been driving me nuts over the past few years. The Thermo-Lo treatment is painless and doesn't take long at all. It's basically a very fine needle with a current that zaps the problem areas. I also had a light colored mole on my chin that I really hated, but Lisa zapped that as well, and now it's completely gone! All of the areas she zapped, scabbed over in a few days, and in about a week, flaked off and were gone. My skin looks so much better. I have also had a couple of peels and facials, and I was really happy with the results of those as well. Lisa is not only really knowledgeable, but she's incredibly sweet and you can really tell she loves what she does. She's offers a lot of great treatments that will really improve your skin. *Lisa told me that she used to have problem skin, but she has done peels and Micro-Needling, and she now has incredible skin. I chosed her because of her past reviews she seems like someone who has earned the client's trust by providing noticeable results in her services. I came to her for a chemical peel hoping to fix my terrible acne scar skin, after a week of skin peeling my skin had less scars, was more even textured, and the skincare routine I always do finally seem to finally absorb better. I can't afford her services every month yet, sadly...(student).But I love to refresh my skin when I can or before vacation, because skin dulls over time. All you have to do is take one look at this effortlessly beautiful woman to know she knows her s**t! Fortunately for the rest of us she's willing to give up her secrets. This is my 1st yelp review and don't take or have the time to spend on social media but am making a one time exception. I'm obsessed with my skin and looking my absolute best for my age- I research products extensively and have a plethora of on-line devices. My go to before I buy is Lisa G... She recently pointed me to the Celluma Pro LED Light and my skin has never looked better! If you don't want to plunk down eighteen large bills to purchase she offers treatments for only 40.00 a session. You can try before you buy - but you WILL want this product! Needling is another fun activity that isn't for sissy's but it DOES work and Lisa's the best at making that happen for a lot less than a doctors office with likely a better result! I recently attended Lisa's Open House at her new space in G Best Salon on Broadway! In addition to Champagne and Chocolate- everyone received a goody bag filled with PCA skin care samples. One of the products was a Hyaluronic acid lip booster. I'M OBSESSED! I had chronically full dry lips before using this product! My lips are now dry peeling skin free-soft and a little bit plumper in an inconspicuous way. If I was limited to three make-up products they would be Mascara for eyelashes and brows - concealer and Hyaluronic lip booster! Lastly- Lisa is the only Esthetician outside a doctors office I trust to put chemical peel on my face! The only negative I have is I have to wait to get an appointment -book early. read more

I've gone to Lisa now for a peel and microneedling- and can definitely say she's amazing. My peel made a significant impact on my sun damage and my pores look smaller too. (I just had the needling done so can't report on results yet, but am certain I'm going to be really pleased.) In both appointments, I found her to be not only super sweet, but extremely thorough and informative regarding any treatments I was curious about. Lisa listened to my concerns and told me the honest truth about the advantages and drawbacks/healing time (if any) of any potential treatment- in a helpful, caring manner. This was my treat to myself before my birthday. Lisa is such a sweet woman from the inside out. She explained everything as we went along with the peel. The environment was so nice and calming. I never felt like someone out of place. I can't wait until April so I can get another peel done. Being African American I was a little scared of scarring but Lisa informed me that the Sensi peel was just for that ( those with sensitive skin) The results were great, way better then the five microdermabrasions I had done prior to the peel. Lisa was kind enough to take me for a last minute appointment because I was having roseacea and acne issues. She gave me a fabulous facial and peel using her PCA products. She really takes the time to review your skin history and select the products that will work for you. Her pricing is really reasonable for the quality of service.
