Arrived in the afternoon and got the best hour facial experience with Helen while my friend had her mom. Helen was professional, funny and super fun to chat with the entire time I got a facial. She educated me on how to properly moisturize and take care of my skin and explained every bit to me as she was working on my face. My skin was super dry so I felt brand new coming out of there. Wow- BEST FACIAL EVER!! After going to overpriced skin care salons and spas for years a friend of mine recomendable Helen, the owner of Aura Skincare. I have gotten the best results with micro needling with stem cells, I started getting this years ago and all the sudden it just started getting very expensive. Upon entering this adorable salon, I was guided to the most comfortable chair I had ever laid in for anything - I asked " is this a foam memory bedding? She smiled said " yes" why wouldn't everybody do this? I then spent over an hour while she meticulously did the treatment. She ended with a lazer treatment that sealed my face ( why doesn't everybody do this?) by the way, I drove over an hour to get this, and I've already made an appointment for next month. I am a first time customer and I have to say, I WAS IMPRESSED. I absolutely love the fact that they are so knowledgeable and use organic products as much as possible. My History: I have had acne since I was 8. Now I am 20 with an oily skin. I have been to multiple Estheticians and dermatologists. I have tried everything ranging from antibiotics, topicals, injections, multi-varied facials, chemical peels AND laser surgeries. For the past 6 months, I have clear skin, but since temperatures have risen, my acne came back. Treatment: I had the Aura Acne Facial. Usually after a typical acne facial, my face feels clean, but painful and dry (even with hydrating products) after extractions. With Helen, my felt truly clean and refreshed. My face did not feel sore from the extractions. One of the products Helen applied was coconut oil and I could NOT stop smelling my face! Professionalism: There are two Helens, but they are both mother and daughter who owns the business. I did my facial with the daughter. Helen knows what she is doing and what she is talking about. Not only that, she gives good aura, kind and is very friendly. She is tough when it comes to extractions, but she effectively knows how to clean my face. Location: You would have to look closely. I used my iPhone's map app to locate it, but you would have to look closely because it is in the middle of a shopping area. Spa and Salon Ambience: In the main room, the room is bright lit because of the sunlight, but the setup is beautiful. The bathroom is VERY clean. I am absolutely in LOVE with the facial rooms. This review is LONG overdue. I found Aura on yelp (of course) many moons ago. I came in and was treated like royalty. I had the most amazing facial and I didn't want to leave. Helen is one of the sweetest people you will meet during your time on earth. The salon is so clean and cozy and once you slide into your bed for your facial you will have entered heaven! Your skin feels and looks so good when she's done but more than that your spirit is also satiated. Helen has a way with people and when you speak with her it feels as if she has known you for years. I had such a great experience with my custom facial with microdermabrasion at Aura, all thanks to Helen. She was so sweet and so careful with everything she did with my face, letting me know what she was going to do with me before she actually did it and always making sure that I was comfortable, like asking whether or not I was claustrophobic, which I am not, because she warned me that the face mask would cover my eyes and lips. When I got there, I took a short survey about my skin type and daily/nightly care routine and she examined my face before we began to see how she would go about treating my face and she did an amazing job using organic products on my face that only she trusts and everything that she used smelled really nice. The place is nice and clean, by appointment only, so it was not noisy during my session, making it nice and calming. The room where I got my facial was a nice size and well-organized. I pointed out to Helen how comfortable the bed was because I sunk in and felt so relaxed. My skin tends to be really sensitive and dry and altogether a huge insecurity because of how cautious I need to be with what I use on my face because of uncertainty of a bad reaction, but this was not at all the case and as for my skin; my face felt so clean and hydrated right after and the next day, I received some compliments on how my skin looked noticeably better by a few of my friends and my confidence was completely boosted. The price for the service that I received was shockingly inexpensive (I got the custom facial with microdermabrasion and she massaged me and put these stones on my chest while the face mask was sitting). During the extractions, I was scared because I have a pretty low pain tolerance, especially when it comes to my face, so I expected there to be way more pain than there actually was; Helen's hands were so soft and gentle on my skin, again adding to the relaxation I was feeling. The microdermabrasion, which I was the most hesitant about because I did not know what to expect or how my skin would react, ended up being my favorite part of the whole facial; the suctioning feeling was indescribably satisfying. It was something that I had been really wanting to try for a while, but was too afraid to try again because I never know how my skin will react to something new, but I am happy with the results and it was very well worth my money. It was obvious that Helen was not just trying to get me to buy a bunch of products after my session, unlike a lot of salons and spas I have been to before who just service me and really push for me to buy products that I am unfamiliar with. She gave me free samples (a tinted face sunscreen and a night cream), which I have been using and loving and I have been taking her very detailed advice to maintain my healthy skin. I felt comfortable with her right when we started, she was so genuine and clearly loves what she does and it showed in her work and her vibrance with a new customer. I went home and went on and on about how great my experience was and my mom, who is not always so easily convinced to try the new things I try, was persuaded and she scheduled her appointment with Helen right away, and after her session, she had nothing but positive comments, similar to mine, and I noticed right away that her wrinkles were a lot more calmed down than before. Helen did not even have to recommend that I go in for more sessions before me asking to come back again because I already knew that I wanted to return for more(and the same with my mom). I had the pleasure of meeting Helene the owner of the place and Helen (her daughter) who does the facials. She was very welcoming and she was interested in what I wanted to get out of the facial. I explained to her my frustrations of trying everything to clear up my acne and she totally understood me. The room for the procedure was very relaxing and comfortable. I was excited to get started and Helen just works wonders. She is a very KNOWLEDGEABLE esthetician. After just a couple of minutes of explanation about things she was going to do I totally trusted her! 2 hours later.... my face felt awesome, it felt soft and I felt rejuvenated. I absolutely love Helen, I went in on Friday looking to get some information on microdermabrasion because I have acne scars. I was however concerned about starting on Friday because I had a party on the the next day and knew I was going to spend time in the sun (research I did online said to stay out of the sun for 24 hours after). She said it wasnt a problem, she would give me some sunblock for face for the next day... I went ahead with the 1st session and my scars are already visibly lighter! I have been going to Helen since I was in high school and actually found her through Yelp. I've always dealt with acne prone skin and have literally tried EVERYTHING you can think of and nothing has ever worked. Until meeting Helen! She uses the best of the best quality products that are actually meant for your skin to target any imperfections or anything that you want to work on. Although I did stop going to Helen for awhile just because I moved and couldn't finically do it as a broke college student. But when I moved back I started going to her to get my facials again because I was now starting to deal with hormonal cystic acne that was so painful and again nothing that I used seemed to work! She was really patient and understanding. I was worried about the treatment since I didn't want any reactions to his skin prior to his prom. She reassured me and really made me feel comfortable. The products she uses are organic and great for sensitive skin. This was essential since my son has a combination of acne and dermatitis. He had a facial and microdermabrasion.
