So I've been coming to this park for about 10 years. The park has really been out-of-control lately. The bushes are overgrown trash on the floor feces all over the floor. I recently went on the weekend to use the restroom. There was no toilet paper there was no paper towels and there was no soap, including liners to use the restroom in the women's restroom. I already called the city and spoke to them about the issue. Something needs to be done. Other than that the park is a nice place. If they would maintain it it would be nice. Since our tax dollar pay for it. Nobody enforces the rule of picking up anyone's trash or anyone's dogs feces . I literally had to walk around all kinds of feces in several areas because it was full of the parking is not being maintained like it should. In addition, I have seen aggressive dogs and I have seen people let their dogs loose without a leash. Just because nobody is enforcing it doesn't mean people should do it. Everyone thinks their dog is an angel, but in reality, dogs can be aggressive, not all of them just some of them. read more

I say take caution before bringing your pets here. While I do love this park it's hard to ignore the people who bring aggressive dogs or refuse to put their dogs on a leash while walking around or to the dog park because "my dog is friendly". It's also hard to ignore people who don't have proper harnesses on a strong reactive dog. Basically I stopped bringing my dog so much because people tend to overly trust their dogs. I witnessed these peoples dog, a German shepherd and clearly reactive dog as it was barking and snarling the moment they parked, attack a smaller dog walking with its owners and a baby in a stroller twice! The owners of the shepherd had this dog on a collar only leash and the owner clearly couldn't control the dog and still with a park full of people (children included) and dogs decided it was a good idea to continue and bring the dog around the park. The second time the victims were literally trying to walk away from the people and their vicious dog and the shepherd owner lost control again and the dog went after the little one again! Then they hopped in their car and literally sped off! Craziest thing I've ever seen at this park. I have a shepherd myself and even though I do trust her I always keep her in a 4 clip harness with one leash on the harness and another on her collar when we go out because I don't trust other people and their dogs. On occasion I'll take my dog and walk the areas I know people don't normally frequent but for the most part I walk my dog around the neighborhood now. This dog park is pretty kept up for the most part. The usual dog poop left around but nothing abnormal for a dog park. The dog water station is broken and there is a decent amount of holes in the grass. Not many dogs come by here so that's a bummer. read more

First time here it was noontime on a Thursday another couple was in the large dog pen. My little dog enjoyed the wide openness and being with their 3 dogs. Very clean area and doggie bags available. Bench and picnic tables are available. Nearby is a children's playground and parents were there playing with their child. I loved the surroundings and definitely will come back again. The trees and landscaping is beautiful. The trees are turning orange right now because of the time of the year. The park isn't as obvious from the street. Not too many dogs at the dog park, which other people in the reviews complained about, but personally I like that. Very relaxing and peaceful place. You can hear many birds and get a good view of the mountains. I haven't checked out the bathrooms or trails yet, but I already like the park. read more

Really enjoy the fact that it's a 3min drive from my house, which makes it very convenient! Aurantia is an average dog park, I like that they have 2 fenced sides, one for small breeds and the other for large. Each equip with picnic tables with cover, water fountains (for your pups), and doggy bags. The park itself is small with a very nice view of the mountains. There are scenic trails that you can take your pup on a scenic walk. They also repaved the parking lot with plenty of space. What I dislike about this park is the dog park side is not as well kept as I would like. There are lots of dead grass patches. I've noticed a lot of aggressive dogs, and dog owners not picking up after their pups. I've also noticed "cliques" that come at certain times and mingle with each other, which is fine but don't single out other people there with their dogs. Overall it's a decent dog park that I can take my pup to when he needs to let out all his energy, but I try to take him when I know there won't be many people. Only dog park in Highland that Ive found. My mom actually showed me this place! Its way up there off Greenspot rd. I love that it has a big patch of grass between the dog park area and the playground (perfect for picnics). Its easily a great little family place. Its a decent size dog park. I've never been at night so I'm not sure how busy it gets -Small and Large dog section -Benches all over the park (super convient) -Little trails behind the park -Nobody there during the afternoon hours (12pm-3pm) -Hardly no shade =( -Clean and safe area read more

I've taken my dog here a couple of times and to be completely honest there's several reasons why I don't care to take him back. They do have separate play areas for the larger dogs and the smaller dogs but this doesn't seem to stop fights from breaking out. There's been so many dog attacks here and my own dog has been attacked here as well. Charlie was actually playing and a schnauzer came up to him and was feeling him out. I stood by closely to watch and the other dogs owner came over to do the same. Well mistake on her she got nervous and picked up her dog out of fear and as soon as she did that little rat attacked my baby. Thankfully my brother in law was with me and pulled that thing off of my dog but Charlie did have a little bite on his neck so we did take him to the vet to get vaccinated. Obviously if the other dogs owner is careless enough to bring a violent dog to a dog park she's probably careless enough to not keep up with his shots. The craziest part is after that incidence everyone at the park looked at us like we were in the wrong. Which leads me to my next point everyone who comes here is in their own special click it's sooooo weird. I forgot I was at a dog park because it felt like I was in high school all over again. I've been taking my puppy, Honey, here pretty consistently for a couple of weeks now. All the dogs I've encountered have been super friendly! Some are a little rough, but they're dogs so that's completely normal. They do separate big dogs from little dogs, but you're able to bring your pup in the area of your choice. Overall, it's nice little park with lots of area to run around and play in. It's also very convenient since it's only a mile away from my home. Honey LOVES playing with her new friends :) read more

Great dog park as well as a playground for the kids, two walking trails, and a groovy old bridge. Bathroom Is located next to the playground. The dog park is pretty well kept and fairly big. Not the biggest I've been to though. I'm docking 1 star for no shade. They planted some trees but they are way too small and not quick growing! Only 1 gazebo and its not in a good spot IMO. Almost nobody comes during the hot part of the day for this reason (including us) but as the sun starts to set it can get pretty busy. Both in the small and large dog areas. Especially on the weekends. There is definitely dog owner "clicks" here. They can be pretty unfriendly, but just don't pay attention to them. There ARE friendly people like us there also! The only thing I like about this park is that it's so close to home. I take my dogs walking to this park however don't trust the actual dog park where the dogs are off their leashes. My dog's gotten attacked here before because of a careless owner. Also, I've seen other dogs get attacked multiple times which is why I would NEVER bring my dogs back into the park. The owners know their dogs are aggressive yet continue to bring their dogs back. Stay away for the safety of your pets. read more

The Aurantia Dog Park has become a place where people bring their aggressive dogs that they can't control at home. The owners of these dogs are irresponsible and should not expose other dogs to their pets who have not been trained properly. I would not recommend this park to owners who have dogs that just want to play and have some fun. read more

My dog dakota and I love this park. It's clean most people pick up all their poop and there is shade. Its a nice place to go to especially with your dog. read more
