We stopped in on a Monday evening and had a great experience. Had some friends visiting who adore Aurelio's. I've always been a bit on the fence about the pizza, but it's good enough. Our friends LOVE the pizza so it's a win win. Had the Monday special, $15 cheese pizza and $3 PBRs. What really differentiated this visit is when Tom, the owner stopped by to chat. It wasn't very busy but it was delightful hearing about Tom's experience in running the place. The bar area seems pretty quant. Tom said they have music on Fridays that we'll have to check out. I love Aurelio's and have ordered from a few locations on my visits this summer. Was super disappointed July 4 and again this past Monday, July 13. Since my to go pizza was over done on the 4 th I was sure to mention to the girl handing me my pizza and checked it before but once again it was over done. I showed the cashier but she just stared at me. Since I had a meeting to get to I just left. I decided to write the review after showing my sister the pizza. We grew up in Homewood and love the pizza but this was not up to the Aurelio's standard. I had orders this summer from New Lenox and Palos Heights and both were good. Ordered online (ticket #60) a 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage fiesta for carry out. Once home, saw that there was no sausage. When we called (we had to talk and wait on hold) to speak with the third person, "Tom". He offered credit for the missing ingredient ($1.75 on a $30+ pizza) or we could return the pizza and they would make a new one but, of course, that meant 30 minute round trip drive and an hour wait. When we told him this was unacceptable, he offered a $10 credit. At this point we asked his name for a Google review and we would take the credit. Then, most galling, he said if we write a review, he was withdrawing the credit or any compensation for their mistake. Our daughter and son in law brought over a pizza from this Aurelio's last night. Worst pizza ever and I'm 72 and like pizza. They had to know at Aurelio's what was in the box and that most people don't open the box when they pick up an order. If they only would have known. Stuffed pepperoni --[actually black: seemed like the pizza burned and then they layered on another layer of sauce which also burned. Large black burned areas. You had to peel off. Last two times I've gone here I've gotten EXTREMELY sick. Only had pizza and salad both times. Pizza tastes different I think it's the cheese. Came here for the Bosco sticks and they were delicious! Not a big fan of the sweeter sauce but my gf likes it so we gave it a try. Big bummers was that they do not have a red sauce that is dairy free. So my daughter had to get bbq sauce on her pizza but she liked it. read more

Still a very quaint and cozy place to come to. Plenty of parking, there's also outdoor seating. The last couple of times I've come they're very short staffed ,so the wait is a little bit longer than normal, given the workforce this is not anything abnormal. Pricing has increased a little bit but this is also apart of the inflation. The host and server were very polite and gave some good recommendations. The place was very sanitary and plenty of room to pick a spot to see wherever you like. Trying the new stuffed sauce pizza, it is deceiving and very filling! read more

Absolutely horrible. I ordered chicken Parmesan. They gave me sliced microwaved chicken breast. No Parmesan, no cheese in the dish at all. And with some weird sweet meat sauce dumped on top. I usually go to the one in Addison but on 02/19/20 decided to come to this one because I was in the area. It is very different in terms of ambiance than the one in Addison (which is 1950s theme). Its modern, plain, sparkly clean, bare bones nothing fancy comfy. I asked if they charge for extra sauce. She said no. So my pizza comes with extra sauce criss-crossed on top of the cheese instead of underneath the cheese. I did not like it prepared like that but ate it anyway. It seemed to lack seasoning but was ok. The check came and they charged me for extra sauce. We had a conversation about that because she said there was no extea charge. They did take off the extra charge and were very nice about it. We have always loved Aurelio's, starting back in Homewood. The Aurelio's is Winfield is the closest we have come to the original. We were so disappointed to find out that we were right on the outside of their updated delivery range. After getting turned down a couple times trying to order delivery, I figured it would be worth reaching out through the website to see if there was any way they'd be willing to deliver to us. I received a call from Jon (the new general manager) the next day. I was blown away by the willingness and customer service. He has made sure that our address is accepted within their system - he also some of my other family members that live near us. After that, he told us to ask for Jon if we can and ever have any questions - he even offered his personal cell. It was a great experience, and we plan on ordering a lot more from them. I grew up on this pizza and enjoy visiting the Homewood, IL location. This place is spectacular in terms of the decor and the bar area is going to be a great place to spend some time with friends & family. Saturday and Sunday football games will be great there. Ok if you don't like their sweet pizza sauce ( I don't) here is an idea suggested by my helpful server Sean... Go with light sauce and I added my idea of baking it with crushed red pepper. It worked. It is a very nice thin crust pizza with my favorite ingredients of sausage, mushroom, onion and garlic. Since this new location (they renovated and expanded the old Jake's pizza) in Winfield is within walking distance I'll be back. read more

The food is very good - just like the Aurelio's my wife and I grew up eating. Prices are reasonable for what you get. And this new location is beautiful -- much more "upscale" than I expected. There are some quirks though, and they are still having some startup/growing pains: -No lunch hours? Really? What gives? Can't you at least open for lunch on weekends? -No delivery? Really? You are a pizza place! -I trust that someday you will get my carryout order right, and perhaps charge me what you quoted me over the phone. Or if you are going to quote me the wrong price, try sometime to charge me LESS than you told me you would, rather than always charging me more. A bit of a pizza snob, I love great deep dish, and enjoy tasty thin crust. Their crust isn't super thin, its tasty not too filling. Something worked really well. The spicy/sweet/strong sauce blended with great flavor on the 6-ingredient pizza and surprised how it burst with flavor. First off, this place is VERY inconsistent. One visit the pizza has awesome thin crust with excellent sauce. The next visit will have spongy crust and overly sweet sauce. It keeps going back and forth and has become a gamble to visit when you have a specific taste in mind. It's very bad, I'll give them that. When it's good, there are hardly any leftovers. Their pizza crust makes this place unique. I think they put a Parmesan or some kind of hard cheese near the outer ring. It gives each piece a satisfying and savory end. Sauce and toppings tend to vary. Sometimes it's perfectly cooked, sometimes it's not. I think their main chefs have different styles. Neither is bad and I think one is the best pizza in town. The other is okay, nothing to write home about. I'd like if I could request the same thing every time. I'd say this is better than the Jason's pizza it replaced. Ordered a fiesta sausage- $34.00 and change to pick it up. My phone and the receipt said I called at 4.52 pm to order. I was given a half-hour window so I walked in at 5:20. the box barely felt as if anything was in it and it wasn't even warm. This pizza not only didn't have extra sauce, IT HAD VIRTUALLY NO SAUCE! I'm eating leftover slice as I type this, there is no sauce!! Aurelio's is all about the sauce! An absolute waste of $40!
