The cullet was cooked perfectly either ample amount of mozzarella, The sauce was on the thick side ,the way my mother and mother-in-law made it but of course not as goodz(well what did you expect me to say). My wife had ravoli and loved them , big square ravoli smothered in a meat sauce and two big meatballs (extra) . The bread seemed to be homemade was stlll warm and tasty.Oh salad not included. This place has such a warm, welcoming, "homey" feel every time you walk in. The menu is extensive, but everything we've tried has been consistently delicious--it's never hard to find something you're craving. Place is gross and negligent when your buddy Cody V is the bartender he will happily over poor and give lots of free shots to his friends. He even laughed off and commiserated with his friend whom has a serious alcohol problem when it was brought to his attention. Whatever keeps you bringing in tips I guess, even if the bar looses. This bar may get sued for sending home people inebriated in vehicles without any intervention or care for their wellbeing and the wellbeing of the community. Great attentive staff. Drinks were well made. We had patty melt. Not a thin slab of burger, but a generous pub size burger. Sides were Tator Tots. This restaurant is FANTASTIC! I would give them 6 stars if possible. Customer service was unparalleled, the quality of the food was second to none, and the atmosphere is inviting! My wife and I stopped on our way through the chicago area on our way back to MN, and we plan to come back on a future trip through Illinois. The restaurant offers 3 different food challenges for those who would like to test their capacity, and I attempted the giant calzone. The flavor was phenomenal. We dropped in for our first visit on a quiet and rainy Sunday evening. We were promptly seated and serviced in the dining area. They also have a separate bar section that's open to later hours which had a few people there watching some football games. The menu is pretty extensive ranging from traditional Italian entrees, baked items, burgers (another table ordered them which looked great), along with handhelds and pizza. Food was served shortly after orders were taken and was delicious with generous portions. Next time we are in the Winfield area, we will head back to Caliendo's! read more

I came here for lunch and I came here for dinner as well. On a Friday during lunch time it seemed fairly slow, the drinks and service were good. I had a fish sandwich which was made very well, and a ton of fries. I came back later on Friday dinner time to really look at the service here, the bartender cody looked like he was backed up but worked through it in quite a fantastic manor, and quickly. I ordered the steak medallions which were cooked PERFECT, with mashed potatoes and veggies. It tastes like a scratch kitchen. Highly reccomend the food here. The draft options are minimal, but service is fantastic and fast, and they have a menu worth looking at (both drink and food). Prices are mid to high range. read more

Modest amount of beef that is bland. $1 for a small cup of giardiniera. Make your own pasta when you add scallops - you get FOUR bay scallops for $9! We stopped in here for a quick lunch. We sat on the bar side at a table. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The menu was huge.We ordered the Spicy Beef and the Godmother sandwiches. Both were really good. My fiancé got the fries as his side. Fresh cut fries are always the best. I got the pasta salad which I love as an option and it was really good too. I have been to Caliendo's twice now and I love it more and more each time! Their pizza is so good. You can't stop yourself from eating all the slices! Their house salad was very fresh, and their loaded fries were a nice big portion. Our servers have been very pleasant both times, and I love it when the owner comes out to chat with the customers. We saw several people enjoying the all-you-can-eat crab legs - the customers all looked very satisfied! I definitely recommend this spot for a date night or a night out with friends. The food is very shareable and the portions are great. The one thing I do not recommend is ordering ice cream from the attached carry-out section. I got the most measly little scoop possible, it seemed like the ice cream was old, and there was no flavor at all to the moose tracks ice cream. Definitely skip out on that! read more

Before I moved in 2019, I used to love this place. The food was so good and always hot and fast. We tried it again last night and it was awful. The food quality has definitely gone downhill. Both our dishes were bland and just not good. Entrees don't come with salad anymore, had to ask for a small piece of bread. They forgot to send the soda and utensils. When I called, they couldn't refund the soda because it was on a credit card so they just offered me a credit next time. Never heard of not being able to refund to a credit card and there won't be a next time so the credit is no good. Super disappointed. Will not return. read more

My family and I stopped into Caliendo's Restaurant one random evening and had a very tasty meal. (Full disclosure, the owner was one of my wrestling coaches in high school and I've been wanting to check his place out for a while... too long!) We were there on a weeknight but it was still a pretty full dining room. They have a nice assortment of tables and they easily accommodated our group (3 kids and 5 adults). The lighting is low, but it helps to set the mood of a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The menu has a lot... A LOT of delicious sounding items on it. In fact, I had a hard time deciding on what to order. And I wasn't alone, that seemed to be the consensus across the table. We started with the wings, which were very tasty, and then moved on to dinner. After going back and forth I finally decided, with a nice recommendation from our waiter, on the Italiano Chicken. It came out HOT and tasted delicious! Not to mention it was HUGE! Let me tell you, I can do some damage when it comes to eating and I ended up having to take some of it home with me, the portion is just. that. big. (either that or I'm getting soft!) Speaking of our waiter, he did a really nice job. He was friendly but stuck to "business", he was attentive, and he provided good recommendations (both on food and brining out to-go boxes). Also, the prices are right where you'd expect them to be - even better when you factor in the good food, service, and portion sizes. So disappointing. We used to go here fairly often and the fried chicken was amazing. It was a strange thing to order at an Italian restaurant but it was fried perfectly and so juicy. This is the first time we did pick up. We asked for 2 orders of fried chicken and as I knew they told me that it would be ready in 25 minutes. Got there at 20 minutes to make certain I would be ready to get it as soon as it was done. I stood waiting for another 15 minutes. Now I don't know if my wearing a mask influenced the behavior, but none of the employees were wearing masks (we are in the midst of the Omicron surge). Got home and found baked potatoes, no butter or sour cream and extremely dried out and tough chicken that was totally over cooked. Some of the worse I have ever had. Will definitely NOT go back, which is sad. Inedible and very poor value. KFC would have been a lot better. read more

Came here for pizza and ordered black olives on half. Server- who had no idea what he was doing, brought it out covered with what must have been an entire jar of green olives. They refused to remake it, or comp it. Manager refused to come to the table to speak with us. If it was possible to give this "restaurant" negative twenty stars, I would. Employees not wearing masks. The reason restaurants and bars are open is because they have to follow safety guidelines to keep the safety of themselves and their customers. Since this place does not want to follow that, they shouldn't be open! One of the plate prep/servers had his mask around his chin for the most part, was wiping his nose and scratching his nose with his bare hand, then proceeded to sprinkle parsley on someone's plate and serve the customer their food. Our server who was rude and short with us and acted like he didn't want to be there, took our temporary menus and ripped them up, threw them in the garbage, and didn't sanitize his hands and proceeded to handle food afterwards. 2 employees, whom looked to maybe be management, and 1 additional female server made no attempt to wear a mask at all, as well as their cooks in the back. We were told that they aren't required to wear masks. Terrible service for only serving 2 tables, waited forever for our drinks/salads. By the time our plates were ready which took roughly 40 minutes we had it and left. Won't be coming back, and hopefully the health department shows up and shuts them down. read more
