This was the best pizza since the old OakBrook Terrace Aurelio's . We ordered a large Cheese and Sausage extra sauce and crispy crust! It was scrumptious! Great sausage the crust perfectly crisp the extra sauce oozed out from every bite... the gluten free pizza was fabulous too! Their anti pasta salad is excellent using the house dressing get extra olives ... It was so nostalgic the tastes sent us back thirty five years ago when we went every Friday and had every birthday anniversary and graduation party at the old Aurelio's the only thing missing was the scary Mickey Mouse Guess where we will be next weekend Thanks for a great family restaurant ! read more

Ordered large Pizza tasted good but crust was so thin in middle that you had to fold it to eat it. It seemed like it wasn't cooked all the way because the crust was real soft. Got a coupon in the mail for the Aurelio in Winfield and thought we'd give the pizza try. We were all disappointed in the sauce. It had an unusual taste for pizza sauce. Hard to describe but it was different. My wife thought it leaned on the sweet side. The pizza wasn't cooked evenly. Half of it was Ok, the other half a little too crunchy. Better than Maggiano's! OK - Maggiano's doesn't make pizza (do they?) but they do make Chicken Parmesan and the Chicken Parmesan at this Aurelio's was better than Maggiano's and 100x better than the exact same meal at the Geneva Aurelio's. I asked them to serve it with Sauteed Spinach instead of Pasta and they were happy to do so, even brought out the owner and chef to double check exactly what I asked for in advance and it was fantastic. My wife and daughter enjoyed their pizza and we all liked the calamari, as well. As for the rest of the experience, it's a new restaurant and they are clearly still 'gelling' and learning to work together as a team. The evening took longer than it should have but our server was nice, still getting to know the menu, clarified a few questions to make sure that she got it right - which was much better than being afraid to confirm or just not caring and getting it wrong (which so many servers do). Ultimately the fact that the owner, server, and even the chef cared and took the time to get the dinner right along with the great Chicken Parmesan (and pizza) caused me to sit down and write this review - which I rarely do. ***We'll be back to support a local business and recommend you do as well! I noticed a few negative reviews here and encourage people to give new businesses owners a break - it's a huge risk and challenge to open a business, hire a team, get things running the way they need to be to keep customers coming back and, ultimately, survive - especially with social media causing a single bad experience to be permanently etched in stone. I would like to start off by saying that this place is a complete disaster, starting off with the tall skinny old manager with glasses that thinks he's the owner, word around town is that he was handling a pizza and a piece fell off to the floor and he put it back on the tray and still served it like that. (that's so gross dude) And the midget manager has a horrible attitude and horrible hygiene. He has dandruff from his beard all over his shirt smh. I love Aurelio's Pizza. I've had Aurelio's Pizza in OakBrook, Naperville, and Geneva. I was so excited when they opened in Winfield. But the pizza being disguised as Aurelio's pizza in Winfield is not the Aurelio's pizza I've enjoyed in other locations. The "thin-crust" pizza is thick and mushy; there is an over-abundance of cheese (yes, there *is* such a thing;) and overall it lacks any flavor whatsover. Maybe that's what all the cheese is supposed to disguise. First time, I thought OK, maybe it's a bad night; we'll give them another chance. But after the second experience this past weekend when the pizza was equally as bad, I'm done. I'll drive to Geneva instead. read more

Under-cooked, doughy mess. I grew up by the original in Homewood, so I know what this pizza should be like. I was so excited to get an Aurelio's close by, but I won't be back. I talked to Tyler last time I got an under-cooked pizza. He said to tell them to cook it more the next time I ordered. So I did and it was better. I forgot to tell them to cook the pizzas yesterday and I got $68 in under-cooked pizzas that I had to fry on a griddle when I got home. Folks this is usually good pizza, so try another Aurelio's. I am done with this one. And BTW- the reviewer that got the wrong dish chicken parmesan should have received a free replacement, not assurances it would be better next time. Huge disappointment. Thank goodness Joe Aurelio passed away years ago so he doesn't have to see the embarrassment of the horrible service and pizza produced at this location. The phone staff are untrained millennials who act as if you are bothering them and interrupting their evening of posting selfies on SnapChat. The delivery driver is rude and after waiting nearly 90 minutes for my pizza delivery, on a slow Thursday evening, he delivered the wrong pizza. When he returned with the correct pizza it was cold and he threw my payment back in my face adding insult to injury. First of all the guy that helped us with a beard was one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. Super nice guy and very informative. Unfortunately he's working in a place where the pizza is very very mediocre for some reason they put the pizza on a cooling rack when they serve it instead of directly on the aluminum pan. Not sure where the last pic is in that I would think you'd want a piece of this stay hot as long as possible. However that's not the real problem. The crust is like chewy white bread. The sauce has no flavor I didn't see any oregano or other spices at all. Lots of mozzarella cheese. The sausage was in really small pieces about the size of a dime or nickel it was obviously pre-cooked Italian sausage it lacked flavor. I don't understand one piece of places don't put raw sausage on top and when they bake the pizza the juice from the sausage drips onto the cheese. That's flavor. read more

My friends and I visited this place over a week ago and let me tell you, it is definitely the best place that I had ever been to! just perfect. The ambiance of this place is immaculate, the settings and all are just so neat and neutral. The vibes are really on point and it really did change y mood up. The visual of their place was quite awesome, especially the inside. It is clean, neat, tidy, well organized, proper, decent, and bright. It really gives off the best hang-out vibes. We ordered their Classic pizza, Buffalo wings, and pasta. All of those are large and doubled and it really didn't disappoint. Really worth the money and satisfy our cravings. Would really recommend all of those for you to try. Their pizza is stuffed and the cheese is just immaculate, the crust is perfect and the sauce is well seasoned. Everything is well cooked! This was our first time at this location, and we got take-out pizza. It was not quite as good as Addison's, but we'll try again. The place has a full bar and plenty of room to eat in, but it is very, very noisy. Concrete floor, industrial ceiling, all of which makes the noise just deafening! Also, seats are not comfortable. Very modern looking, which I'm not sure goes with the menu. Anyway, we'll try their pizza again, and maybe go at a less busy time. read more

First I have to say I'm team Aurelio's! I've been eating there pizza for 30 years. As a kid our family were regulars at the old oak brook terrace location. (Before it moved, and became a carry out only). Having grew up in Addison, I was a regular at that location as well. I've had the Wheaton location to go on 3-4 occasions, over its ok. Few issues I've had, pizza was typical Aurelio's it was dry on 2 occasions. One time when ordering they couldn't get our order right and we're out of the signature Aurelio's breadsticks. Was thrilled when we saw there was an Aurelio's closer to home. Ordered small cheese pizza and small taco pizza. Simple right? The cheese pizza was burnt and could not eat it. I took one bite and it didn't even taste like Aurelio's pizza that I have come to love. Very very disappointed. I've been a huge fan of Aurelios pizza since I was a kid and we went as a family to the original in Homewood. I've done carry out from the Geneva location before and never had a bad pie or experience. Decided to go into the restaurant to eat Saturday. First we called to see if we needed a reservation and was told no. I also asked if the patio seating was open and was told no. We get there and sure enough there were people seated outside. We opted for inside anyway. It was not busy at all we were seated immediately at the high top tables over in the small bar section. There were only 4 guests seated at the bar. There were 2 people behind the bar one guy worker server manager not sure which standing at the bar 10' away watching tv almost the entire time. several servers passing by and not one person even came to acknowledge us bring us water or take a drink order. Finally we went to the hostess and she was too busy looking at her phone but we asked if we were supposed to order at the bar or if there was a server? She said the bartender is supposed to serve tables in the bar area and even though we were in plain site he never once came to us or said a word and plenty of servers just hanging out at the bar. Again he only had 1 group of 4 people at the bar drinking only. Finally after 10 minutes a server came to take our order. She was very nice and apologized for the delay. we started with a Dinner salad and were informed when it was served that they were out of onions. Really 8 pm Saturday night and it was rather slow and they are out of onion? No biggie we ordered a pizza then just a simple sausage and mushroom thin crust pizza no special request nothing complicated and not only did we wait a rather long time it was still slightly undercooked and I don't think they put any sauce on it. It was Dry and tasteless. While we were waiting for our pizza another couple was seated in the same bar area at a booth and low and behold the bartender had no issue serving them immediately. At that point I was really annoyed and since the pizza wasn't very good we just paid and left. Just really disappointed in the food and the service. First visit - thin crust cheese pizza, too much sauce which squished out when you bit into it and the crust wasn't crisp. Had to walk past tables to get to pay/pick-up window, small area and crowded. Second visit - thin crust sausage, mushroom, onion asked for extra crispy crust. Crust was mushy. Third visit - tried sandwiches, not impressed, nothing special. Arrived at the time it was supposed to be ready but they didn't start making them until I arrived. Gave me a chance to watch the teenagers making the pizzas, explains the lack of quality control and inconsistency in sauce/under cooked crust. They are not pizza makers just unsupervised and untrained cheap labor. Also, they had a pizza back there and were eating it while making pizzas to order. Fourth and last visit was last night. We decided to try the pasta. Spaghetti and marinara sauce, fettuccini and alfredo sauce with grilled chicken. Both had a lot of pasta but very little sauce, the pasta was hot but stuck together underneath the rationed amount of sauce. LAST STRAW: I asked about the fresh baked bread that the carry-out menu says comes with the pasta dishes. I was told that is for dine-in only. I picked up the carry-out menu and showed her that it is stated in the menu. I was told they copied their menu over to the carry-out menu and again the bread was for dine-in only. I said it states it comes with the dish in the carry-out menu. She reluctantly gave me a piece of bread. Overall, the staff is young and inexperienced. They don't know how to treat a paying customer and it doesn't appear there is any management in sight. I did look around for someone. I felt like I was interrupting each time I've been there to pay/pick up food, staff are in the area by the register and kitchen and talking, last night there were four of them watching as I begged for bread that goes with the dinner. I love Aurelio's. I still do. I was super excited when this one opened literally 30 seconds from my house. I've been about 5 times since they opened 3 weeks ago, and each time I've had problems. I totally understand that it's new, they need to work out the kinks, everyone's still learning, etc. That's why I've still come back after 5 times of having issues. The servers is what worries me. They are all clueless. It seems that not a single one of them have experience. Which is fine, I know they have to learn sometime. But they all just seem so lost and confused. There's so many of them standing around. One issue we had is my husband's pizza didn't come out with the rest of the food and the cooks said it was made but it never was. The server we had immediately got defensive and said it wasn't his fault, even though we were nice and didn't accuse him at all. I've never had that happen before. And they make mistakes about stuff that should be common sense. For example... I have 2 young kids and not once have their drinks come in a kids cup. My kids are super clumsy so we need that kids cup with the lid. I shouldn't have to ask for that, should I? Speaking of kids... PLEAAAAASSE add a kids menu. I know they don't have a kids menu at any of the locations but I don't see why. Tonight it was packed with families with kids. And for my non-pizza eating kids, that leaves me ordering chicken tenders for $7.99 and a side of fries for nearly $4. Why can't they do a kids meal version of that, pasta, etc? It really stinks. Also, we got charged for refills of soft drinks tonight. When questioning the waitress, she said they don't do free refills (of Pepsi and iced tea...). Everywhere offers free refills for regular drinks like that. But she seemed positive that they don't do free refills instead of checking with someone. To me, that seems like a training issue. You can't just be charging your customers extra like that when that's not even your policy. Another small detail... my husband ordered a salad and they charged him for his dressing. Not extra dressing, just the cup that comes with it. Granted it's only 50 cents, but it's mistakes like this that unnecessarily added on a good $15 to our bill. There was also a random line under tax which had a tip for $6. Not even the owner knew how it got on the bill. I was also super excited that they offer an individual size of the antipasto salad but it's so puny it makes me sad that it's $7. A tiny plate with a few leaves of lettuce and meat. Literally gone in like 5 bites. I want to love coming here especially for the proximity to my house but I don't know how many chances to give them. I will say, each mistake has been made right by the owner and/or the manager (I wish I knew her name). The girl manager is awesome and has taken care of each issue but still, these are issues that I don't think should be happening, even to a new place. Hoping they take some time to retrain (or train at all?) their servers because the food is great. But the service makes me not want to come back, and I really want to come back! read more

The food is very good there, but the service is something that needs help. I have eaten there with family 4 times and every time there was a problem. One time everyone got there food except for one family member that ordered a pizza, and the waitress kept saying it was coming and in the end after asking several times about and when the rest of the family was done eating they told us that his pizza order was never put in. So he would up taking the pizza home and they gave him a voucher for another pizza. They charge 50 cents extra if you want another cup of salad dressing. They do not have a kids menu, and when we get the bill it is always wrong and we are overcharged. This last time we were charged extra for refills on our sodas and a $6.00 charge with no explanation for what it was, even the manager didn't know what the charge was. So if you go to eat there the food is good but the wait staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing and make sure you check the bill when you get it. read more
