Why are they out on the lobby if they are not meant to be used? If it bothers them that they lay the seats down then why have them out at all!!! "you get what you pay for". Outdated movie theaters. Lobby has a weird smell. Popcorn that I bought was stale. Tasted like it was under a heating lamp for hours. While they are a fandango partner, you still must go up to the register and have them print the stubs--there's no way for them to scan the tickets. This place was mediocre! I'm so use to more fun, exciting set ups and visual themes ! This is more for children 5 and under. The hub paid 21 for both courses with a 1/2 off for one course. I definitely would not recommend this for adults. They have 2 course with 18 holes that's exactly the same! Nothing difficult. The staff was very friendly. But overall if you want to have a great time you can. I'm lucky enough to actually enjoy my husband and make it a great time everytime!!! Love this place. Nostalgia and all. This used to be star time, and then they closed down and re did the theater and mini gold courses. They opened with a bang a couple years back with amazing groupons, but we quickly realized it is affordable to go here without a groupon. They have all the staple theater food plus bakery good and delicious cookies!! You buy the drink cup and they have 2 huge drink machines and the slushie ones as well, You can refill them as many times as you'd like throughout the movie or if you are playing putt putt. They have a great staff, extra friendly and polite, with a sense of humor. have met the owner/manager a few times and hes really nice as well. Fun movie theater with lots to do. We've been here a couple of times with the kids for free showings and the kids have had a blast both times. They have deals on their concession stands on certain days so those are the best days to get popcorn! There's also a mini golf place right outside so another thing to do after you get done with your movie. The one thing I will say that is kind of annoying is that the bathrooms are outside the movie theater. I find this annoying because I have a toddler who needs to go to the restroom too many times during a movie and I'm constantly having to tell the person who checks your ticket that I'm going to the restroom with my kid and that I will be right back. Other than that, decent theater. The seats aren't updated and the theater isn't a cinebistro or anything, but it's a good old fashioned theater. read more

Checked this place out via the Groupon Movement. It has two seperate minature golf courses and a movie theatre. I heard it's been renovated so good for Aurora. Definitely going have to check out the golf carts for sure. Recommend bringing the nephews, nieces, your children, a cute date. You need someone who has an inner kid in them. Don't bring no stiff, you will be disappointed. I wish there was more venues like this all around Atlanta because Roswell is Oregon Trail Far! Has it been 100 reviews already? I wanted to mark this occasion by reviewing a place I really love, and Aurora Cineplex definitely fits the bill. When I moved to Roswell a few months ago, finding a new favorite movie theater was near the top of my priority list. That probably tells you A lot about me! Luckily, I live pretty close to this place, and I discovered it quickly. From the outside, aurora Cineplex does not look like much. It looks kind of rundown, honestly, with a sort of small sign facing the highway and a weird parking lot. There's no lit up my key or anything like that, so if you want to know what's playing, you pretty much have to do your homework before you arrive. That said, my expectations were low the first time I went. I was in for a treat though! Aurora is next to a mini golf course, and there are always deals save money of you decide to make an evening of it and play putt putt before/after your movie. I might have to try that in about five months when it warms up again! There is never a very big crowd at this theater, even on Friday and Saturday nights, perhaps because the general populace is as full as I was by the humble exterior. The fact that I can show up a few minutes before a hot new movie, get a ticket, and not be relegated to the front row is one of the reasons I keep coming back. The theaters are new, state of the art stadium seating, and the sound is wonderful. The screens are in great shape, and despite the putt putt/family atmosphere, the place is not overrun with kids and teenagers making a lot of noise during the show (get off my lawn.) The staff is very friendly, and they always keep out a bucket of mints out so you can grab one to freshen your breath on the way out the door. Little things like that, as well as big things like clean stadiums without crowds, will keep me coming back here for a while! read more

This is an absolutely wonderful family theatre. I found out it's the only independent theatre in the are and Im happy to support that. But more than that, it really is a great theatre. Extremely clean and well kept, the decor and ambiance are upbeat and pleasant. Not tacky, not overdone or over the top. The ticket prices are much better than Merchant's Walk which seem to think that paying for a movie should cost almost a week's rent (I know, Im exxagerating but their prices are ridiculous). The cineplex's chairs are comfy. They sit back a bit and you can lift the armchairs which my daughter loved since she could cuddle up with me. Parking is super easy and convenient. The best part of this place was the manager. When he first came in, he greeted us, chatted us up a bit and let us know that they were cleaning our theatre. He also actually came in right before the movie to introduce himself, the theatre, the movie and even gave away a gift certificate to a random audience member. I think this is one of the best and most personal experiences I've ever had at the movies. Finally, the theatre is located next to a mini golf and whirly ball place. This is great if you want an extra acitvity to your date! My husband and I have decided that we will go back to this theatre everytime we have the chance. We absolutely loved our experience here, when we went to opening night for the Hans Solo Story! I had seen it advertised on their marquee many weeks prior and had planned this as part of a mystery date. I had no idea it was a local theater. I love supporting local businesses. This is going to be our go to family fun spot for movies, putt putt and family fun. The ticket prices are the best in the entire area, the seats are pretty comfy, the theatre clean and nice and screen/sound quality is solid. For $9.00/adult and $6.50/child, you can't beat this theatre. Then you leave the movie and go play a round of putt putt on a really cool mini golf course! It's amazing!! I always enjoy coming here, always a nice place to go to, but the customer service was exceptional. The employees are always friendly but there was a mix up with my tickets when I went to see a movie today because the tickets I ordered from Fandango had been messed up and our showtime got cancelled. I was able to change the showtime to the next one available with no hassle and we got extra compensation for our troubles. I never go out of my way to write yelp reviews but this was the first time I felt inclined to do it, really good place. read more

It was the worst experience of my life. The lady at the front with the brown and purple hair(I believe her name was Sophia) Was very Hostile towards me and my ladies!!!Before i could even put my card in the reader she dumped out my drank.It got all over my card so my card was very moist and wet with Coke. And then my card declined and she blamed it on me, then we had to try a different crowd and the. she aggressively threw my card (And hand!!!) away from the card reader after only one try. Overall Terrible experience and service. Will never go back.The only redeeming quality was seeing Austin Butlers face after the event of that terrible service. What a great little place and very well worth the drive from Cobb County! My daughter LOVES "tiny golf" so I'm always looking for new places to take her. This was a lot of fun. It's the personal touches that make this family-owned theater & mini-golf shine: sci-fi movie memorabilia, hand painted murals on the windows of that week's big movie premiere, and the owner & family come out to warm the crowd in full costume on blockbuster premiere nights. This place is everything the mega corporate theaters up the road CAN'T be: personal, affordable, & community involved (just had a festival in their parking lot this weekend). This theater is interesting. I really love the put put area outside. That's a cool movie and fun date that's really convenient. It's kind of old school inside with the plastic signage but the theater is nice and clean. Over the summer at 10am you can watch an old kids movie for only $2. Kids snack packs cost 4 dollars. So that's a great deal. We saw Horton has a Who and it cost the three of us only 8 bucks. Score! read more

This is a great, family-owned business with tons of personal touches you don't get at other cinemas. Yes, they do have mini-golf and my kids love it but I'm most impressed with the friendliness and evident caring at the theatre. It's clean and very well maintained. They have a great selection of traditional movie goodies and fresh baked treats to boot. They even offer mints when the movie is over as you depart. Very nice touch...although, the mints are wintergreen flavor (which I hate). But it's the thought that counts. A new favorite -- this place does movies right! Take a hike, AMC & Regal! I'm so tired of feeling ripped off by the mega-theatres. At Aurora, you get the feeling they actually CARE about your business, rather than constantly trying to find new ways to gouge you. Tickets cost $2 less, and concession prices are much more reasonable (though still on the high side). All sodas are self-serve, which means free refills for all sizes. Popcorn butter and salt are also self-serve. The salt in particular is a major pet peeve of mine. I try to avoid the butter due to the calories, but I love that butter-flavored popcorn salt. At Regal and AMC, I usually ask for a little bit in a paper cup to sprinkle as the bag gets lower. Some Regal theaters actually REFUSE to do this now that they SELL small flavored popcorn salt shakers for like $3! How ridiculous is that? I already paid like $5 for the popcorn for crying out loud! Is a little salt too much to ask? [/end rant] Anyway, it's a total non-issue at Aurora, since they have several different kinds of self-serve popcorn salt to choose from, and they'll give you an empty paper cup if you ask for one. They have an interesting point-of-sale approach where you buy tickets and concessions at the same counter. This means waiting in 1 line instead of 2. Plus they use a bank-style queue, which is the most efficient manner of waiting in line. Unlike the big boys, their combo prices are clearly listed on the menu, so you don't have to wonder how to get the most for your money. This really irritates me about Regal & AMC. And, these big guys will wipe out their entire menu occasionally to show a commercial! This infuriates me to no end when I'm concentrating on the menu and it disappears for 30 seconds. No so with Aurora, and they don't push those ridiculous pizzas as soon as you walk up to the register either. The facilities are all very clean and attractive-looking. The theater is large with stadium seating, and the reclining chairs were very comfortable. Not quite as nice as the newer Regal theaters, but still pretty good. As long as this place is around, we'll be regular patrons at the expense of Regal & AMC. Highly recommended!!! read more

We went to this theater the other night and I was VERY pleasantly surprised! This theater seems brand new, and everything is super clean. The specific theater we were in was super clean and very up to date. The chairs were comfortable, and the screen was HUGE. The sound was very good, and there just really isn't anything bad to say. The tickets are cheaper than other theaters around ($9), and it's a total steal! The food/concession looked good, but we opted not to eat anything since we had just had dinner. They also have a mini golf place out front that looks awesome!! I am definitely going back to check that place out! This will be my go-to theater from now on! read more

I haven't seen a movie here, this is a review of the golf course. My wife knows how much I love mini golf so she surprised me by bringing me here for a game. When we pulled up, I couldn't help but smile. Both courses were so animated and felt perfectly "Fall" and "Halloween" with skeletons, cobwebs, tombstones with funny inscriptions and monsters everywhere! I was so excited to get out there and start golfing but first we had to go inside the theater to pay and get our clubs/balls. Inside the theater had a really old school feel, none of the high-tech, fanciness of movie theaters these days but they did have beautiful displays out. The only thing that I wasn't too keen on was the fact that the same employees serving the concessions had to stop what they were doing to assist the mini-golf customers which means handing out the clubs and balls which are right there at the end of the concessions counter. My thing is, is that even sanitary? The price for one course per person is around $7 which is good.The course was pretty easy but also fun. I could see this being a great date-night activity or a fun outing with friends. I want to bring some friends out with us next time. My wife ended up beating me by 3 points :( but I still had a blast. I can't wait to come back again. Next time, we'll try the other course and maybe we'll also see a movie. read more

They have the friendliest staff and great rates on movies and golf. I hope they never go out of business. Before the start of most movies an employee will greet the movie goers and thank them for coming and expresses to bring any concerns to their attention. And their mini golf is well taken care of. Despite having two theaters within walking/biking distance, this more distant option has become a go-to for us, for two reasons: Reason 1: It's a couple bucks cheaper than anywhere else. Reason 2: Reason 1 is not reflected in any way in the movie-going experience. It's a top-notch theater and the employees are always super friendly. Oh, and we never have to wait in line. I love this theater! The projection quality is top-notch, it's some sort of state of the art digital but the movies always look sharp, bright and crisp. The staff is friendly and helpful, not the usual disinterested teenagers and they keep the place VERY clean, bathrooms included. The snacks are reasonably priced, popcorn, soda, the usual fare PLUS they have homemade deserts, brownies and cookies. The snickerdoodles are AWESOME. Plus, after every movie there's an usher waiting by the exit handing out mints, how cool is that? I'm not a fan of the overpriced theater chains, Aurora Cineplex is privately owned and it shows. We got to order the tickets before we went to the actual theatre. Getting our tickets was a breeze---we simply went to the machine and swiped the credit card we used. Bathrooms were very clean---I'm an absolute fan! This is a big must. Ordered a drink and I was thrilled they had an icee machine AND we got to fill our own beverages. 5 stars for do-it-yourself service. I hate waiting for a drink in the middle of the movie. At least with this method I can't blame anyone but myself for that sudden urge of some soda goodness...run out, fill up, run back to the movie. Genius! What's not to like? The theaters themselves are great, with big screens and comfortable seats. The temperature is always comfortable too. The best stuff happens before you sit down. The prices are noticeably lower than the name-brand theaters and even many of the local chains. If you see a matinee before noon, the prices are fantastic. They take another $2 off on Tuesdays too. I wonder if they end up paying you if you see an early matinee on Tuesdays. Come on a Thursday, and popcorn is dirt cheap ($1 for a small, $1.75 for medium and $2.50 for large). Even though the prices are low, you get first-run movies, a top-notch concession stand with a self-service soda fountain (for free refills) and friendly, smiling staff everywhere. They have big, freshly baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies at reasonable prices, which they will warm up for you if you'd like. That is reason enough to go as far as I'm concerned. They even have kiosks if you want to avoid the concession line; but the concession prices are also lower than at competing theaters and you'd miss those warm cookies. Bathrooms are clean and modern. They have a cool-looking mini-golf course out front too if you want to make a day of it. If you play mini-golf on the same day as you see a movie, it's only $5. I just learned that they've started a new loyalty program. Ask for your card at the concession card and get a nice bonus every 5 visits. Bonuses include free popcorn, free drink, free popcorn & drink and free ticket. A good thing just got better. What more can you ask? How about a free Lifesaver mint on the way out? This place is a hidden treasure for movie junkies! My new favorite theater! Only $11.5 for 3D Thor at 7PM! ( AMC price is $15! and Thor regular is $11!) At first we thought it's gonna suck. ( hints the price) But it was a much better experience than we had in AMC. The movie looked great. It was prolly the best looking 3D movie we've ever watched. We liked how u can get unlimited drinks from the self service area. They have a lot of seasonings for the popcorn too. There is a golf area outside. Very pleasant cinema. The staff was so friendly and it won't break the bank. Comfortable raised seating (way better than the seating at Regal on North Point). There's peeling paint on the floor of the theater but I'm not sitting on the floor so it wasn't an issue. We didn't get any snacks but it wasn't because I wasn't tempted. I've been a couple of times. This is at the back of the shopping center, so the flashy animated signs along the main roads may mislead you to the wrong side of the building. It's on Commerce Pkwy, so just drive around to the back and the elaborate entrance will be hard to miss. There's a big covered drop-off and walk-way which came in really handy on our last visit since it was raining. You walk through the miniature golf course (The Fringe) which is beautiful and has many water works. Tickets are purchased at the concession stand. Everything was clean and new although there are subtle hints to let you know that it's been remodeled from a previous incarnation. The entire staff was very friendly (atypical for most cinema theaters). The concession stand also offered cup cakes, muffins, black & whites, over-sized cookies, and there were nearby tables to sit at. Theater seating, sound, and screens were all good even in the "small run" theater. I haven't seen any indications of digital offerings, which would have been a nice touch. The location is very convenient for us, so given the quality this will probably be our cinema of choice. read more
