I am second in line and after two hours still wasn't seen. horrible attitudes and demeanor from an employee shooing off people in need like they are a dog. i understand there is a process and procedure but if you don't want to work when you are at work. quit your job and let someone who does take it. this experience alone is my deciding factor on leaving the state

*Holiday Review* One cannot and should not miss the light…read moredisplay. The city of Denver is still celebrating the holidays, although without the traditional pomp and circumstance. The presentation begins promptly at 545p and lasts for 5minutes. The lights are orchestrated with holiday music and shows real well. Even on a Saturday, the crowd was minimal so we had a good view from Civic Center Park. A nice way to bring in a little cheer to your evening. Thank you Denver for continuing this tradition in 2020.

As we waited in line to get in the courthouse it went fairly smoothly. I felt bad for the people who called the jurors number and was told to come in just to be told they didn't need to show up especially after waiting 30 minutes in the unusual cold snap we had that day. After the ones who were told to come in and after another 45 minutes wait we were all told there was a stay and we could leave. Thank God.

If you are not excused, I advise arriving before 7:30 a.m., when the doors open, so you can get through security quickly and arrive at the jury summons room on time. You fill out another questionnaire (similar to the summons you must bring), which helps the judges and lawyers determine the first round of excusals. If you are "lucky" enough to make it through that round, you will be taken upstairs to the courtroom for the voir dire process. Depending on the number of jurors needed, you may need to stay for lunch. There is a reasonably priced cafeteria with hot and cold options and snacks.

The lower level is the main section where most people read, do homework, or work on their laptop. This library is within walking distance from other governmental buildings and the History museum, so you can just park your car in one of the parking lots and do everything in a short amount of travel in between them. Definitely a different feel than you'd expect from most libraries. They have a great selection of materials. If something you are specifically looking for is not in they can almost always get it transferred in from another branch! In keeping with the ever growing digital age we live in they also offer e-books and other digital rentals through the Hoopla App. How simple! I can check out a book from my couch - can't get any easier than that! Aurora Public Library has some really creative programming! The "Explore Aurora Craft Brews Tour" that not only caters to a different type of library patron, but also gets people out and exploring the ever-growing and changing Aurora community. I LOVE it! All the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful with any questions you may have! From getting you signed up with a library card, to locating an item, to research assistance, and programming too! While I may not reside in Aurora any longer; I do go to school nearby and know I will continue to use this branch of the Aurora Public Library!

Art for the sake of art…read more At first glance, it looks like a group of large marble and granite figures, but on closer inspection it is a group of two judges, one female and one male, and four children. Seated outside the Carr Center, the two groups look like they are engaged in an intimate conversation. Nice to be able to walk by the Colorado Yule marble and green granite figures of "Justice for All" that were created by Madeline Wiener, a New York-born, Denver-based sculptor with an international following. Inspired by the warmth of real judges, Wiener tried to create a friendly space for children and their families to be welcome. The statues of the children look so innocent as they try to ingest the wisdom of the justices. Kids can climb or sit on the statues. For their parents, it is a great photo op. Although, I did not enter the actual courthouse, I know that there is more artwork inside as well. Walking through downtown Denver, there is so much public art. This is due to a state law that manadates 1 percent of public building costs be dedicated to the acquisition of art which gave the construction of the Carr Center an art budget of just over $1.7 million. So nice to be able to take a walk and just enjoy art for the sake of art.

In the walls there are a series of interesting names, and Latin mottos on two opposite sides that describe labor and rest. Definitely an epic courthouse to see in Denver!
