I keep trying to find a pedicure place that I love and want to return to, but this is definitely not it. I did not have an appointment, they told me 10 minutes. I was seated about 15 minutes later and waited with my feet in the water for another 10 which is just fine. The lady who did my pedicure was probably the roughest I've ever experienced! She cut my cuticles to the point I thought I would bleed and I lost layers of skin when she was rubbing them with salt. She cut them jagged and didn't use callus removal serum/lotion, just a cheese grater. The polish job wasn't great either. I waited a bit and ended up putting my own sandals back on. The owners seemed nice/funny, but Iost definitely won't be back! read more

I've taken my girlfriend here 2 times now to get a manicure/pedicure. Both times we were greeted with great hospitality and quick service. Our first visit, we loved our technicians. They were polite, warming, and gentle. Our second visit, I cannot say the same. While we were greeted with instance service, the pedicure this time felt rushed and rough. The technician being so heavy handed on our feet (with the drill and clippers) that our toes actually hurt during and after the service was complete. That combined with the cutting of my toenails without permission made this visit feel completely different from the first. As for the manicure, we were pleasantly satisfied with the work but the pedicure left a sour taste in our mouth so we could barely enjoy it. We understand that every technician works differently but there should still be a standard to uphold to make us (the customers) feel like the work being done is intentional and to our liking. We can see ourselves coming back to Aurora Nail Bar in the future, but we will be sure NOT to ask for Kim (I believe that was her name). Saw some fun things online and figured would give it a shot. I saw online you could request an appt however I never heard back and had to call in. They got me in with just a couple minutes wait but the chair I was sat in was not fully cleaned. The whole left arm was covered in nail dust which was disgusting. The massager apparently only works if the person doing your nails turns on a button which is not always possible given they havegloves on while working on your legs. They offered a drink but couldn't quite tell me the alcoholic options. I just asked then for wine and was greeted with a large red glass and water which I do appreciate. As for the pedicure I did select one and they last came out with a different saying it was on sale the same price for this month which was nice. However I never got to choose my scent which was show on the menu . Overall the pedicure was fine. It was nice it included paraffin was at not a crazy price. Nothing wild. I just really wish the chair would have been cleaned and I could keep the massage chair going throughout the experience. I have been going here for over a year. Tammy does my nails perfectly. I had an 11 am apt today with my husband and when we walked in the manage and his wife were in the middle of a dispute with an unhappy customer. Instead of acknowledging us we and 3 other people walked in and were huddled around the door while the customer was telling them why she was unhappy it felt like forever until the sat us for our pedis The 2 techs rushed through the service. The buffer she used to take my polish off Got to hot and it really hurt. I told her several times it was uncomfortable. The chairs are so uncomfortable. My service was not relaxing or enjoyable. I won't be coming back for a pedi with them. The people who do the pedis are not as skilled as the nail techs and the quality of work is poor. read more

The nails are often too thick and they never touch my cuticles. Lastly, they play very offensive music in the establishment. Every time I am in there, I hear rap music saying the "N" word. I had a 3:30 PM appointment and I arrived around 3:20 PM. When I got there I noticed it was pretty full but I wasn't worried because I still had 10 minutes. At 3:40 ish the guy came by and let me know that he had not forgotten about me I let him know that I was doing fine not realizing that I still would still be waiting another 20 minutes. At around 3:50 I was taken back to be put in a pedicure chair. A lady came by and put a blue liner in the tub and then asked if the lady next to me was with me I said no. She then went and grabbed her cart and went to that lady to service her. I sat in the pedicure chair before that lady. I walked out at 4:00 PM without being serviced. My time is just as important as your time if you are not gonna abide by the appointment times you should just not take appointments. I drove 35 minutes because I wanted to try something new. I passed probably over 50 nail salons just to try yours very disappointing. read more

i called right at opening on a monday for pedicures for myself and 3 others at 11:30 and they had availability. when i had to move the appointment back an hour they were super accommodating. we got there and they got started right away on three of us, but my sister in law had to wait for her artist for about 15 minutes while the rest of us got worked on. the vibe was pretty posh and upscale, honestly really pretty and clean looking. my artist was jessica (jennifer?) and she did my french tip gel pedicure beautifully! but i will say that i'm unsure if she cured the gel for long enough because my toes did kind of take on a texture when i put socks and shoes on like 3 hours later. i'll update if i get contact dermatitis lol but overall clean quality work, kind workers- they made sure to be gentle with my mother who is handicapped- and fair pricing. i recommend this business overall read more

I tried this place on the recommendation of my hairdresser and hair salon receptionist. The owner/manager was friendly and funny. He got a gal to help me and didn't even charge me that much. I made another appointment for 6 weeks later. The chairs aren't made for handicapped people, but they got it done, no problem. read more

I keep trying to give this place chance, however, I am super disappointed with my last visit here I was getting a pedicure and it was probably the least relaxing pedicure I have ever gotten the guy was pinching my toe as he was filing. At first I didn't say anything, but then it did start getting painful so I let the guy know that it was hurting. He apologized, but still kept being rough. Just when I thought it was no big deal. The nail tech Sam cut a good chunk of my skin on my pinky finger he did not apologize or a knowledge the situation. And my nails are so thick and UGH just horrible experience. This salon was great. I took my daughters and myself for a girls spa day. Everyone was friendly. My daughters nail fell off the next day. We went back the next day and they redid her hairs and discussed how some people have oily nails and that gel nails do not stay on some individuals. Every time I get a pedicure here the gel lifts off, I am a receptionist so I am hardly on my feet which is why I don't understand how this happens. Every time i get my NAILS the application is horrible. They always lift because of them putting the acrylic on the cuticle, they also do not prep the nails properly, i've had a few times where they lift from the sides. The staff is always rude and are even more rude when you ask them to fix your nails after they mess them up. We all booked for 11am and when we walked in, we were seated and treated immediately! The ambiance of the building is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable! This salon is high quality, affordable, and timely! As we were walking out, they handed us each this full size lotion as a gift. The owner was soooo so nice. This place was slammed busy when I went in and I got sat down with one of the manicurists and she was short and kind of rude when starting off, and after about five minutes she stood up and had me moved to another desk with another manicurist, Kelly, to do a dip manicure for me. Kelly was so nice. However, I've been getting dip manicures for years now and she skipped the final two steps: 1) she skipped the top coat of dip (the clear one) and 2) she completely skipped buffing/smoothing them. So not only are they thinner and more breakable without that extra coat, but they are also clearly textured instead of smooth. The gel top coats she put over have already bubbled and peeled off of the tips of my nails. I had such high hopes for this place but I will never be back after the first woman being rude and the second one being in such a rush that she skipped steps and left me with horrible looking nails. read more

I had to come in a week and a half later because of completely broken nails and peeling gel polish . I asked for a deluxe pedicure $45 was then charged because the guy used gel without asking me. But the time I noticed what he used he was half way into the service . $15 extra for gel!? Then my nails acrylic full set , rounded shape ( not hard to do ) and simple design . $80?! I can understand a charge for the design but $20 ? Because I did all my nails , and then they wanted to charge me for the "soak off" of previous shit job . Which they didn't soak them off , he popped them off painfully with a nail tip. And then an extra $5 for the shape ?! Square and round should be normal shapes . I don't get my nails long by any means . If your going to charge me $130 total there better not be any issues with anything and it should be much better service ! I would give less than 1 star if I could. Went in one time with my daughter, on the recommendation of my daughter in law who had been a customer on a first name basis for over a year. Right off the bat the male manager is staring at my daughter and commenting on her appearance. I was a little put off but disregarded it as him being nice in a slightly off-putting way. After my service I noticed that my nails started to lift within 4 days which is really unusual for me. Based on that, I decided I would not to go back to Aurora. But, it gets better. A week or so later, my daughter went back and purchased a $50 gift card for my daughter in law who was at that time continuing to frequent the salon. My daughter paid for the gift card and left the salon. When my DIL went to use the gift card the same male manager said "no money was ever loaded onto the card". So, my daughter went and got the proof of debit from her bank account, and yet the same male manager of the salon absolutely refused to acknowledge their error in loading the gift card. Coincidentally, the purchase of the gift card was at the same time as they changed their system so the possibility of having a technical error seems likely. For the business to not acknowledge this possibility and make good on a gift card that was actually proven to be purchased there is just a horrible business practice. He actually said to my DIL "what do you want, for me to take it out of my pocket?" Well, YOU TOOK IT OUT OF OUR POCKET when we paid for the gift card that you didn't honor, so in actuality YOU PUT IT IN YOUR POCKET! What you really should be doing is acknowledging your error and honoring the gift card, plain and simple. I mean, HOW DID WE EVEN GET THE PHYSICAL GIFT CARD IN THE FIRST PLACE IF IT WASN'T PURCHASED, PAID FOR AND HANDED TO US BY YOUR STAFF? And don't bother saying it had been used, because if it had been you would have had a record of it and you would have easily been able to document that. But you didn't, because you can't. Bottom line, you dumped on a long time customer over your $50 error. SHAME ON YOU. There are literally hundreds of nail salons in the vicinity, so you might want to actually value your customers instead of treating them like a nasty little byproduct of your at best sup-par nail salon. DO BETTER AURORA NAIL BAR! I am certain in the end, you will lose far more than the $50 you took from us over your lack of ethics and professionalism in how you handled this situation. read more

To add based on the owners response: Notice how the problem I had, which was his behavior, wasn't addresses. I've never asked for cuticles to be cut, I actually do them myself which is funny to add and lie about that. I've uploaded my nails to show what I've gotten the past few times. I've been coming to aurora since they first opened. A lot of people come and go but for the most part their okay. However, their prices are never consistent. I've paid $45, $65 and $95 for a FILL. Yes it depends on what you get, but i usually get the same thing since I'm not allowed for work to get many options. The PROBLEM is the owner, he is rude and not very welcoming. Never says Hi, or how are you or have a good day. And it's not because he is busy, usually he's behind the desk on his phone or on the couch. The owner sets the tone so the past few months it's been like that with everyone. If you want to spend your hard earned money on nails and quality of customer service, go somewhere else. read more
