I've had Aurora's pizza many times. I like it, but I don't love it. I've also eaten in the restaurant. The food tastes very good. Pricing is typical for Italian restaurants in this area. Seating is tight but the decor is pretty, modern. Typical restaurant ambiance, nothing stands out. Servers are friendly. Went to Aurora's for my birthday dinner and would say had an Average experience. Overall this place is super cute on the inside, but that day there was definitely alot of people and staff was short. I felt bad for my server as she was running around trying to get things to everyone (but she was a big superstar)! Once here we ended up ordering: *Holiday Sangria - this was okay, yummy and well presented but could barely taste any alcohol *Fettucine Alfredo - this was decent, I liked the sauce but do wish there was more sauce on here *2 Meatballs - these were okay, I really enjoyed the marinara sauce they were in but I think the meatballs weren't as well seasoned as I'd like them to be. Usually meatballs I really enjoy are made of beef but I think these were pork (which I don't enjoy as much) *Large hot mexican pizza - this was pretty good and had jalapenos, tomatoes and bell peppers on it which was yummy Overall it was decent enough food, but our food came out so late we weren't really hungry once we got it. We ordered takeout. I picked up in the store and confirmed with the girl that everything was in there. Everything was sealed and I trusted the girl. I left and found out at home that I didn't have my daughter's food. It was over an hour to get pasta around the corner to my house which they said would take 20 minutes. This was not the first time we have been disappointed with their takeout. We have had late orders, half orders, .... Pizza has been made inconsistent. Great Local Joint !! I had the pleasure of visiting Auroras West Side during a business trip to the Sault Ste Marie area. We went there after a recommendation from the good folks down at Algoma Steel. When we arrived we were seated almost immediately and we were lucky as the place started to fill up. It was a Sunday night and I will say, get there early as the 5:00 pm rush is crazy. I started with a Calamari to share with the group, and I must say that Auroras des a great job on this classic starter. Our Calamari was crispy, tender inside and not too greasy. For my main course, I had the Blackened Cajun Chicken Breast, which cooked perfectly, juicy and tender inside and it came with a side of pasta, which also was very good and not overcooked. Our table had some of the other offerings and all of my group was happy with their meals and the service. This is now a Goto spot when I'm in the area. read more

This is a good place to visit if you're just in need of a pizza for dinner. We went to Aurora's twice. The first time we got a large pizza with pineapple, and it hit the spot. It was enough pizza for three and to have some leftover. The second time we went, we got a smaller pizza and the fettuccine Alfredo. The pasta was just okay and so was the pizza. It isn't anything amazing or out of this world, just alright pizza. If you're eating there, don't go around 5-6PM though, the parking lot is horrendous to navigate and find spots. I've been eating or ordering pizza from Aurora's for decades. Aurora's original pizza has been a staple food in many many families in the Sault for decades. Although myself and many others have loved the original pizzas from Aurora as teens or children on through to our adult years, I do have to note that through owner changes, the pizzas and pastas just aren't quite the same. Although still great. I usually am not disappointed but in the last year or so I have found that in person dining and food isn't quite up to snuff. I've found that steaks are often over cooked. The amount of pasta has lessened or short on sauce. Family style salads which they are known for is now not refilled or offered. I loved this restaurant and so has much of the Sault but now find that service and food lacking. I really hope they return to their glory days! read more

Food has always been good....attention to detail not so much, I am not sure who packs the food for delivery but they always forget utensils and napkins, and when you order a hot hamburger sandwich fries and gravy its a little hard to eat with your hands....this has happened every time I have ordered from them, pay a ridiculous amount for delivery, always tip well and have to ruin the hotels towels to use as napkins. My goodness, this pizza and Caesar salad are just about two of the most awful things I've ever put in my mouth. I'm in town for the night. I'm exhausted when I check in and just want a pizza to my room. I asked the clerk for a recommendation and she went off the rails a our the place! So I order from them enthusiastically! A medium pizza 2 topping pizza, Caesar salad and 4 cans of pop come to $35. A little Steep for a small town pizza delivery but I'm not one to cheap out when it comes to quality food, I expect that with the hype and sky high prices that I must be in for a treat! What I got was a Caesar salad made up of bagged, nasty, wilted and slimey romaine lettuce, the "famous" sauce which was so overloaded with garlic it tasted of nothing else and burned when it went down. And I adore garlic. The croutons were from a bag, and not even a decent bag, they're definitely no name brand and the whole salad was repulsive. The pizza is a nightmare of undercooked pepperoni, chewy dough, flavorless sauce and the extra cheese I paid for? Who knows where that was. The whole thing is just an insult to pizza. Poor poor poor. I absolutely love Aurora's, prices can be a bit steep, but compared to places like Gus's pizza, the prices are nothing, I always order 3 large pizzas every Friday, and they're always cooked to perfection every time, sure they can have a bad busy night, but the next week it's 10x better than the week before, before going anywhere else check out Auroras, you will definitely not regret it, I promise you! read more

I am a bit surprised at some of the reviews...we have NEVER had a bad meal at Aurora's. I lived in Winnipeg for 17 years and when I told people I was from the Sault they would ask me about Aurora's pizza! Their Sausage burger is delicious, as are all their wraps... portions are generous and food is good.It is a great value and for the most part service is pretty good. When it gets busy though...it can be a bit of a wait, but still worth it. We live here and drop in there at least once a month! Give it a shot. read more

If in the Sault Ste. Marie area, this is one of the best places to buy pizza. They also serve other food however I am a fan of the pizza. The cost is a bit high however it's worth it. Yummy. My mouth waters just thinking about the food. The house salads are "dressed" as you would expect, but literally "perfectly". The right amount of oil/vinegar and salt to pepper. The salads have pepperoncinis which also have a salty/vinegar flavor. And that's just the beginning of the meal. All of the sauces are home made, (they taste like real sauce, nice and light, but still hearty, and flavorful) If you've ever had garden home made sauce, you will appreciate it. I'm not sure if the pasta is home made, but it tastes like it. Especially the ravioli, you choose meat or cheese. They just melt in your mouth, with the sauce, mm mm. Meats (steaks, ribs, fish, chicken) great, breads fresh, pizza's delicious; The Prices are good considering the premium you would pay anywhere else. Totally affordable. I almost didn't want to write this because the restaurant only seats maybe 30-40 people, and this would decrease my chances of getting a seat next time. Hah. read more

I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, the service was bland and the restaurant was very dirty, the waitress even gave my niece a dirty glass and we had to get a new one. I went to this restaurant with both of my kids, one is very picky. We came in just before our regular dinner time and lucky for us, we got seated just before the crowd came, but I recommend reserving yourself a table in advance. When we got our menus, we found that there were many options on the main menu and a menu for my picky one who had happily chosen off the kids' menu.
