This restaurant was an incredible experience. We were staying over in Sault Ste. Marie on our way through and found this spot thinking it would have a water front view. Unfortunately it does not actually have any view, in fact the restaurant has not outside facing windows, but there is a great consolation prize; the venue is so freaking cool. We had some great pizza and some pretty good beer. We had a flight of each beer they had, and though they were good there was very little variety. The pizza was amazing. The best part of the experience was definitely the venue. It is in an old renovated paper mill. Really fantastic was the story our server told us. She shared that her grandfather came from England to work in this very paper factory. And now she serves in the renovated version of the same place. So incredible. I would absolutely come back to this spot again - the heritage and venue is just so incredible. read more

This was horrible from start to finish. No one gave us menus; we got them laying on another table. We ordered and after we got our food no one checked to see if we needed anything. The food was nasty. Salad had a ton of onions and tomatoes and that was it. I was told only house dressing was available and it was NASTY! In edible. No one at the table tasted any garlic in the honey garlic wings. Was over charged as we ordered a 1/2 salad and was charged for a whole portion. When I told the person that I flagged down to get our bill, she said "sorry" no comp for the drink or anything. Bad bad experience - do NOT go!! read more

Sports bar & grill vibe with better food options. The service and the food was good. My first time in Canada, and I don't consider myself a poutine connoisseur, but the fries had a nice crisp, the cheese curds were pillowy soft, and the prime rib flavorful, and the gravy brought it altogether as advertised! Would Definitely go back and try other options on the menu. read more

There was no problem with the taste of our food, it was getting it that was the problem. Our waitress, Kayla, was the worst server I have ever experienced. We asked for drinks multiple times, she brought out everyone's drinks but forgot someone's and she had to ask for it twice before she got it. One person asked for ketchup and didn't get it, he had to ask again once he was done his fish and only had cold fries left. We were 6 people and she could not get one thing correct. We Finally asked a different waiter to bring one persons drink and he simply said ask your server and we said we did! Multiple times. She even messed up the bills, putting wrong things on peoples bills which we had to wait for her to correct. She DID give 2 people free dessert because our food came out MUCH later than everyone else's, we had a sandwich with fries, but 2 pizzas, fish & chips and a steak came out about 10-15 mins before ours. She kept saying the kitchen is so busy with the steakhouse sides orders! We don't care, it isn't our problem, everyone's meals should arrive together. She just seemed totally lost! It made our dining experience awful, for this reason I wouldn't return to this restaurant. read more

We came across this restaurant on our first night in Canada. Top notch all around. Quality food and drink (excellent Old Fashion) and attentive service! We ended up eating here daily, as they had a diverse enough menu that we didn't feel like we had to order from the same food type. Would highly recommend. A bit difficult to find entrance (down an interior hall) but worth the effort. read more

We accidently hit this driving around looking for a restaurant that was not on the American side of the border one night. My family and I were on a road trip from Alberta to Ontario and were checking out the sights of Saulte Ste. Marie. We happened to hit this newly opened Boiler Room pizza joint. I was super impressed. First of all, what a neat location. Renovated from an old paper mill, it manages to look super cool and hipster with still maintaining the history and grittiness of the past. Our server was super helpful and friendly. I loved all the local beers on tap and sampled two of them while I was there. We ordered poutine (turns out to be the last on our trip) and three pizzas. Everything came out in a quick manner, nice and hot. The poutine was good, but the pizzas were amazing. The crust was phenomenal --- crisp, lite and chewy. My daughter ordered the Margherita pizza that was simple but tasty with fresh basil. I ordered the Charcuterie with prosciutto, salami, mozzarella, shaved parmesan, olives and artichoke hearts. My husband ordered the Boiler Room pizza with house smoked bacon, sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, onions and olives. All were excellent, and if I lived in this town I would try a different one each time I went. Prices were super reasonable. Really great place to hang out with family and friends. read more

I don't understand why people go here. tonite for the first time me and my family decided to try out the boiler room because of reviews we've read. when we got there the place was packed and we had high hopes. we order our food at 7 got our drinks shortly after and our cups were really really dirty when I asked the waitress for new cups i was told no because apparently all there cups are covered on the inside with soap and dirty water residue due to the dish washer. we finally get our food at 815! and just all disappointment no seasoning what so ever I had the prime rib melt sandwich and fries the prime rib was cold and the bun really stale and the fries were really under cooked the rest of the family's food was just as bad as mine. would never reccomend anyone go there service was awful and so was the food read more

First time in The Soo and heard about the Boiler Room so I walked over and found it located in a cool heritage area! Housed in an old paper mill and sitting beside a gelato shop and The Mill steakhouse, the Boiler Room was perfect! I came for the wood oven pizza (got the gluten free crust - no extra fee!!) and it was super tasty but it's the people to me, that really make the experience. Good job Boilers! The worst pizza I have ever had. Totally non-descript. Tasteless crust, so thin that the toppings fell off. Sauce? What sauce, you couldn't even discern whether it was a tomato sauce other than the color. Chairs were so uncomfortable I couldn't wait to get out of there. Very disappointed in this meal. Our first time trying The Boiler Room for a birthday lunch with family. Most of the food was not very good. The Greek salad was a terrible sloppy mess with not sure what kind of dressing, but tasted like it had vinegar poured over it. My husband literally had to spit it out. We brought it to attention of waiter and told him to take it away and not to worry about replacing it. He brought back another anyway which was still terrible. We didn't eat it but was still charged the $17 for it. One of guests ordered classic poutine but was given a burger poutine, very surprised to find a beef patty and half bun buried under the fries and overwhelming amount of gravy. Charged $6 more then what was ordered. The prime rib melt was missing the au just. We had to ask for condiments. Waiter wasn't very attentive and obviously didn't listen well. Service was slower then expected. It ended up being an expensive meal in which a lot of the food wasn't eaten, so very disappointing. We won't be back. read more

The coolest location! It is an old paper factory which now houses restaurants and a large event venue. We had hoped to go to The Mill in the same building, it's an upscale steakhouse, but could not get in they were booked. So they referred us to the Boiler Room which is more bar food and specializes in wood fired pizzas which looked amazing. But we were told we could order from The Mill menu if we liked so we did. The prime rib was absolutely wonderful. The service, the food, everything - it could not have been any better. Check this building out and these restaurants if you're in the area!
