Zero Stars If I Could I made the mistake of spending $6,800 on a "brand new" Rasson Accura 7' pool table from Austin Billiards. What I received was an absolute insult. The table arrived riddled with chips around the edges--so much for "new." The ball return mechanism? Held together with zip ties. You read that correctly. Nearly seven thousand dollars, and they couldn't be bothered with proper hardware. But the crown jewel of incompetence? One of the plates was installed with a razor-sharp edge on the playing surface--a genuine safety hazard that could slice open anyone's hand. I contacted Jim Teggeman immediately. What followed was a masterclass in how to treat paying customers like an inconvenience. Multiple trips to their store. Endless empty promises that someone would "come out and fix it." Each visit, I was met with the same dismissive attitude--as if I were the problem for expecting a functional, undamaged product. It's now been over a month. Not a single issue has been addressed. Not one. This company took my money, delivered garbage, and then couldn't even be bothered to fake concern. Save yourself the headache, the wasted time, and the thousands of dollars. I was in need of a cue tip replacement on my carbon fiber shaft. The owner Jim was able to replace my cue tip with a Kamui tip in mere minutes and let me shoot some balls with other playing cues while I waited. The tip was perfect and the service was cheap! I contacted Austin Billiards and communicated with Jim regarding my pool table move. He was prompt with getting back to me via email and I was able to confirm the move with Jim over the phone. He was polite, knowledgeable, nice, responsive and competent. The movers, Cody and Keith were fantastic. They both had great attitudes. They moved my table carefully and conscientiously. My table is set up better now than at the house I originally had it in. Cody identified a few issues my table had from the previous installers (see my other reviews, DO NOT USE THOSE OTHER GUYS!). Cody fixed a few broken wooden support pieces inside the table that cracked because of the incompetence of the previous installers. He managed, through the use of wood glue, staples and a few well-placed screws to completely fix the damage done to two of the leg support pieces of my table. They took the time to make sure my table was set up right and waxed the slate too! The felt is now smoother and balls roll 10 times better across it. It is leveled perfectly as well. I could not be happier with the service I received from all three of the gentleman I dealt with at Austin Billiards. I decided to make the big purchase last fall--a pool table for what I tried to dub my "fam cave." The name didn't stick; of course it's my "man cave" as I had feared but we sure do have a lot of fun with the pool table. Austin Billiards was a great help advising me how to filter out the junk on craigslist and find a good deal. I hired them to do the move/install and they were prompt, courteous and flexible on the big day. The seams where the slabs meet popped (probably my fault) after about seven months and they just came out and fixed it under warranty no questions asked. These guys are pros and they will work very hard to earn your business. They are my go-to guys for all things billiards now. read more

We ended up going to a showroom in Lakeway at the Galleria where the staff there was actually happy to see us and sold us a great gameroom set up with pool table, pub table and chairs. This is a great establishment if you are looking for pool tables and accessories. The sales guy who helped me was awesome. I was looking to by a couple of cue sticks and he took me through a number of them and even allowed me to try the really expensive ones to get a feel for how they play. We recently had Austin Billiards come help us put together our pool table, stretch and re-install the felt after we moved. They were great on the phone and with getting us an appointment in the time frame we needed. On the day of the appointment, Cody and Brandon showed up on-time and ready to go. They were friendly and got to work right away. They did a great job getting us all set up and thought of everything to make sure we not only had a fully setup pool table but that we would have an accurate, level, and enjoyable playing experience after they were gone. The pricing was very reasonable as well. We will definitely be using Austin Billiard's services in the future and will end up trying to request Cody and Brandon by name. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars. I needed a last minute Christmas gift and called to see if they were still open. Though they were closed already, and enjoying their employee holiday party, they told me to still come by and they'd open up shop for me. They were true to their word and came to unlock the door when I walked up. What's even better was I had no clue what to get and they took the time to give me excellent customer service. They could have talked me into some expensive pool cues easily, because I knew nothing and they were aware of it, but they did the exact opposite. I pulled up to the door to look at store hours because it appeared closed. The owner was walking out and locking up, it was an hour and a half past the closing time and he was on his way in a hurry. He still took the time to ask me what I was looking for, opened the shop up, sold me a high quality dart board and darts. I was so happy with my experience here. I've bought several pool tables, one foosball table, and one ping-pong table from these folks, and been very happy with each purchase. Some have been for me, some for work. They've installed all of these for me. Their installation team is excellent and very professional. You do need to get on their schedule, they have a lot of business. I'm very serious about pool and you should see the table leveler they use! It is amazingly accurate, like a millimeter or something per 100'. Trust me, my table is level. Hard to do on a 9' table with three pieces of slate. read more

On their moving services: I originally spoke to a rep last week prior to buying a used pool table. (From a third party) Once they confirmed they could move it, I paid the seller to reserve the table. Today upon making final arrangements, I spoke with "Jim" who advised me that a 1 piece slate weights over 700 lbs and he needs to check with his crew, but requested I email some pics in the meantime. Well, Jim never called me back and I had to call him, at which point he giggled on the phone and said Oh well, I'm sorry we committed to this and now can't do it. By the way, the table is less than 500 lbs, and don't commit to something on which you cannot deliver. read more
