When a random offer from a prospective long term tenant forced the rushed conversion of my FULLY furnished (and artistically decorated!) two bedroom AirBNB rental to a COMPLETELY empty / move-in-ready-apartment in less than a week, I was left with only two viable options: online classifieds, and 1-800-GOT-JUNK -- neither, of which, were logistically ideal OR profitable. With the latter scheduled for pickup within a 2p-4p window last Saturday, I was less than thrilled when a last ditch Google search yielded FRESH START FURNITURE. I had already assumed the worst when I begrudgingly went through the motions to make the call -- only to FEEL like I've done my due diligence in getting rid of LITERALLY like new furniture when Karl repeated himself and said, "no, I said we CAN schedule your furniture to be picked up today!" I was CERTAIN I heard incorrectly, so I asked him to kindly repeat what he just said. Without repeating himself, however, he instead offered "and WE'LL pay YOU for everything." As my extended silence met the initial shock of his words as they were left hanging -- dangling, even -- in the air , I proceeded cautiously by slowly issuing my address --fully expecting an "ooops!"or "my mistake..." or an "oooh unfortunately..." But none came. What arrived about an hour later, however, was a moving machine named Karl who looked like he tosses sofas around with his buddies -- instead of football or frisbees -- for fun on weekend afternoons. Fortunately, for me, it was after all a Saturday -- and Karl forsook football & frisbees for furniture and less than an hour later, my apartment was empty while my pockets were full after his in person cash payment. #BEST #EXPERIENCE #EVER, and I'm contemplating a visit to the Fresh Start Furniture store to request their menu offerings for either therapy or life coaching sessions.
