Brought my 2014 HSE in for the first time. Received a bid for $2150 for rear brake, alignment and oil service. Also $1450 for a backup camera. Oil service alone was $338. Picked it up and had the $2150 list done for $1400 at another shop. A 50% savings. Fixed the camera on my own in 30minutes. They charged a $230 diagnostic fee before I was allowed to pick up the vehicle. Shop said they had to take time to diagnose issues. But this is not listed on their website, posted in their shop or on any intake agreement. Be warned, estimates will be high and if you don't want them to do the work, you'll pay a $230 fee. Or more if they decide they want to. It's not listed and you have no choice if you want your vehicle back! read more

I have a 2007 supercharged Range Rover and they have done right by me the times I have brought it in for repairs.

I've been taking my Range Rover Sport Supercharged to Ken (owner) for 7 yrs. I've never hand any issues with my RR. You must call to make an appointment, excellent service is always busy. Hands down Austin RoverWorks is by far the best place to have your Range Rover's worked on. The price is excellent, very kind, and a wonderful place to walk around outside and see all the old defenders Ken has. They have an office with a couch but this is a workshop. Which works for me! I've sent many friends in ATX to him - Ken's 1/2 the price of the Dealerships for maintenance. Just remember BE KIND! I've seen some terrible behavior of clients dropping off their cares. I had a repair made by another mechanic. A week later, the same part/repair malfunctioned and needed to be redone/replaced. They did not honor their warranty. I researched new places and got two quotes. I don't know why I just assumed that the specialty shop would be more expensive...i am dumb. Austin RoverWorks was half the price of the other shop that claims to be "#1 Rated Land Rover Service and Repair in Austin, TX!" Their estimate was just a regurgitated number of $2000 minimum. Called my austin Land Rover dealership to get my 2006 Range Rover sports fixed/serviced. The service manager gave us a date 4+ weeks out. Looked online and found Austin Rover Works. Talked to Debbie who was courteous even though she was sick and asked me to bring my car to the shop. Literally 45 minutes later I was at the shop and Ken absolutely took care of the situation. Did a thorough test and told me that the only thing that needed to be fixed was to replace the battery and even asked me to go to interstate battery place because my battery was still under warranty. Did not charge me a cent. Unbelievable service. I am not ever going back to my Land Rover dealership service department. read more

I have a 2004 Disco HSE, gift from my partner that I LOVE. This is my second Disco, and of all the places that have worked on my Discos, Ken is by far the best. This is a quality operation. My daughter is in Austin with the Range Rover...and I am 1,500 miles away on the East Coast. She had an A/C problem (after repairing the whole system in Alexandria Virginia) that a few unscrupulous folks in Austin said needed a complete rebuild...Ken and Debbie worked with us to get it fixed...turned out to be a compressor. We went back a bit later with an engine issue, and while it was not cheap, these folks stand behind their work and took the extra time to make sure it was done right. In the process we have been there a few other times for minor items and plan to be back again for the regular checkups. I can't say enough about these people. What a wonderful group of professionals. I had my vehicle repaired at another shop, but there were a few issues that resulted. The owner knew I was traveling through and was able to quickly address my problem. It ended up being a broken electrical connection. He slipped it on and secured it with a twist tie. Just had my LR3 checked out by Austin Rover Works and ended up having the EGR replaced. Ken & Debbie were so very helpful, friendly, and honest. When I called them initially, they happened to be dropping off another car in the area and came by to pick up my car from our house. They checked it out, test drove it, and found where the vacuum leak was. They happened to have a used part on hand and replaced it for me. The final bill probably cost 1/3 of what the dealership would charge. I'm very happy with the outcome. read more

Ken is by far the best Land Rover mechanic in the business! He has worked on my Discovery for several years now, and I wouldn't trust it to anyone else. He is honest and reasonably priced. When my truck wouldn't start because of a faulty wiring connection on my fuel pump, he fixed it with a new connector and sent me on my way. Another mechanic could, and probably would hit me for a new fuel pump. Recently he did my head gaskets, and valves. The truck not only runs great, but when I drove it nearly 2000 miles the next day, I had no issues. I highly recommend that anyone with a Land Rover, go see Ken! read more
