First thing we did when my wife and I moved into the neighborhood: We had to find a good Thai restaurant. After trying pretty much every Thai spot around, we finally ordered from Authentic Thai. It was the best Thai in town. I always order Pad Thai as a litmus test. If they can't properly execute this dish, I automatically know that the rest of the menu will be downhill from there. Authentic's Pad Thai tastes....well....authentic. It's spicy and closer to a brown color than the generic pinkish looking sauce you'll get from mediocre places. We were working late and ordered delivery through GrunHub. Delivery was quick and they got our order right. However they did not include any utensils, or napkins which made it difficult to eat at work. I ordered the chicken spring rolls. There are 4 to an order. They were hot, crispy, and delicious, especially in the sweet chili dipping sauce. I also ordered the Massaman curry with tofu. It was tasty but certainly not the best I have tried. The sauce was kind of watered down and there were very few peanuts. I also thought that it was missing potatoes since that is a necessary ingredient in the dish. However, I found one large raw potato chunk buried at the bottom of the container. Did they think no one would discover this? One chunk of raw potato? My friend ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. She was disappointed with her dish as well. She paid extra for the shrimp and had only 4 small shrimp in the entire dish. For a place this highly rated we are all very disappointed. When searching for a Thai restaurant in the Merrick area, my husband and I stumbled on this gem. After visiting a few times and trying a few different dishes, I have to say we'll definitely be returning. The chicken and the vegetable curry puffs are delicious, very mild curry flavor. The shrimp in a blanket was my highlight, even though it was deep fried, it wasn't oily or messy. As for entrees, I have to agree with other reviewers that the Pad See Ew is a bit sweet. The fried rice dishes are our go to when coming here. The jumbo shrimp with pineapple fried rice is delicious and is surprisingly not over sweet. The real star to my husband and I is the basil fried rice, which has consistently been outstanding. read more

My favorite place!! We get takeout from here almost every week. They have delicious vegan Thai food and always get our order right. During covid, when they reopened, they were delayed with our orders at times, but that was understandable! The food is always, always good and super consistent. My mouth is still burning!! This Thai restaurant in North Merrick has no qualms about using chilis liberally in their as authentic as it gets dishes. Started with explosive curry puffs that are plump and full of flavor. Penang curry lit my mouth on fire like it did when I ate it at a small hut in Rai Lay beach in Thailand and the drunken noodles smack you in the face with heat and flavor. The dining area is rather dismal looking and really needs a face lift which is my only gripe but service is warm and welcoming and prices aren't bad at all. Not for the faint of stomach and if your belly can't handle the heat then I don't recommend eating here. Like the name suggests, it's authentic and thus hot as f--k. If you like heat, then you'll love this place. I'll certainly be back. Highly recommended for spicy food aficionados. read more

I have wanted to try this place forever because of all the great reviews it gets. I work close by, but they don't open until after I've already left for the day. Well I was working late recently and decided to finally try it out! Long story short, I was disappointed. I ordered delivery which came ahead of schedule and that part was great- but the food was lacking. I tried the Lap Gai rolls (basically an overly dry chicken spring roll) and the Thai dumplings (think Chinese dim sum open dumplings). Both seemed like regular old appetizers from a regular old Chinese restaurant. Nothing Thai about them at all. But the beef pad Thai was the real disappointment. I know traditional pad Thai is made with palm sugar, or another type of sugar, but these noodles were way too sweet. I couldn't even finish them. I picked out the pieces of beef and threw the rest away. I would like to give this place another try, maybe it was just an off night. But if they can't get pad Thai right at a Thai place... My wife and I were in Thailand six months ago. The food at Authentic Thai Cuisine was as good as any food we had in Thailand. We had Sautéed Eggplant with salmon and Clear Noodle Salad. Both dishes were excellent. The sautéed eggplant was one of the best we ever had. The dishes were hot enough for my wife but not hot enough for me. The waitress brought out three kinds of chilies. One was dry chili flakes. Another was chili flakes mixed with a special tomato like sauce. Another was chili flakes mixed with a unique vinegar oil paste. They were good and each one added enough heat for me. We've eaten at other Thai restaurants in the area. This was better than the others. For dessert there is an ice cream store less than 100 feet from the restaurant. The staff was friendly and made eating there a pleasure. It is not a fancy place but it is clean and has great food. I didn't think their food could be any better; but, having it from kitchen to table was perfection! The green curry is spicy and so flavorful! Ask for it mild if you can't handle heat. ATC's food is very good. The decor and parking are both not. They're primarily a take out spot but they do have a few tables in front if you just can't wait to get home or to the office. This place is great and worth the drive if far away! We got a number of dishes. I got the delicious noodle soup with beef. The meat was tender and juice. I went into the back for the bathroom and saw everything was being freshly cooked and handmade. The service is amazing and smile patiently during your order! They don't rush you, but actually care about your order. I think this place is outstanding. The food came quickly and it was pretty busy (a good sign). I tried the Tom Yum Seafood Soup (no noodles) and I wished I could make it at home. It was very delicious. The Lap Gai (correct me if spelling or word is wrong) is minced chicken with lime and spices. We asked for it 5+ spicy and it wasn't bad! Ask for the Thai spice if it is not hot (spicy) enough. We got the Thai Iced Tea. The word for it is interesting, but it is a must get. It is sugary and delicious. If the food is too spicy, it will help with the spice on your tongue. Pad Kee Mao is Flat Noodles. We got it with tofu and it was really good. I would recommend this place if you are on Long Island. There are great restaurants in the city, but there is traffic. First time ordering from this place tonight and it was excellent. I'm vegetarian, and they have plenty of veg/vegan options. We got summer rolls and roti (with a peanut dipping sauce - so good) as appetizers and I had sauté sweet and sour with tofu. My partner got drunken noodles with chicken. Everything was so good, flavorful, and fresh. I tried a noodle of the drunken noodles and they were excellent- a nice kick to them. The sweet and sour was lovely, not overly sweet or cloying. Tasted freshly made with natural ingredients and not like a processed syrupy sauce. I ordered online and it was simple and straightforward, picked up at the restaurant. They have a table set up for pick up and ordering right at the door. They were busy in the back for a Tuesday night, order with some time ahead before you go get it. I never write yelp reviews, but we just got done eating and everything was so good and clearly cooked with a lot of attention and care. Loved it.
