Finally had a chance to swing by Hicksville! Fresh mithai and nice classic chai. Loved our falooda! It is made to order and took some time.

Grabbed an assortment of sweets and all were typical and well flavored. Definitely made fresh and soft! Would recommend grabbing a sweet treat if in the area!

This is my go-to place for veg food and for when I'm visiting relatives to come and grab a box of sweets to take for them. :) Every time I crave veg food, this is where I get my fix. My favorites are: Chana Batura, Pav Bhaji, Samosa and Dahi Bhalla Chaat! As for sweets, my favorite is the pink one (not sure what it's called, I just point at it lol) and all the other ras-bhare ones, i.e. the ones soaked in sugar syrup. They're almost always packed but that doesn't affect their service. Love coming here.

I came to this spot because it was highly recommended by various friends of mine for "Sweets" so I went and tried the Sweets and guess what ??? It was Actually GOOD :) However I made the mistake of ordering other hot items and Paan lol which If I had not done so I would have given an Easy 4 to 4.5 Rating but the Paan was OLD and no good. The Samosa was Undercooked - not a good experience. I would go again and give them another try until than I will stand with my 3 Star Rating.

I regret not stopping by here before! I drove passed so many times but never got the chance but today I finally made up my mind to check our Bengali Sweets and I was truly impressed by the quality of their food. Customer service was great as well, the two ladies at the counter are very friendly. The ambiance is just like back home! Your typical chaat house with huge selections of Mithaa (sweets). So I started off by ordering their paneer and vegetable Momos. Both packed some great flavors. The paneer momo is probably my favorite one because I love paneer, so them being put inside this deep fried goodness is exactly what I needed! The good thing is, they aren't too expensive nor greasy. This restaurant definitely is budget friendly and hygienic. The vegetable Momos were delightful. A mixture of all of your greens inside of a fried dumpling hahaha! Especially when they both paired very well with the sweet chilli sauce it came with! Now for the main course I ordered the Halwa Puri platter or should I say THALI! I love that word, it comes with 2 Puris and a generous amount of chana masala, halwa and achar. The puris were made from wheat which was a healthy option andddd the puri themselves were not oily. The Chana masala itself packed so much flavor, I thought that it had the same taste as Sambr, the potato soup that comes with a Dosa. Mouth watering and delicious. I did not try out the halwa because I'm not a fan ahahaha! But my family did. Everything was amazing, definitely will be back. 10/10 must try again and again!

The stellar samosas - triangular savory pastries filled with love plus potatoes and peas!!

Bengali Sweet Shop is serving authentic and delicious Indian food and sweets smack in the middle of Nassau County in the good old 11801. The staff is solid and on top of everything. The prices for this caliber of food and service are great. The atmosphere is chill. There is ample seating per Covid distancing. The restaurant is immaculate. They really pay attention to detail when packing and ask for eg how a big order or pieces should be split item wise. Beautiful!! Hicksville( 11801) and the adjoining Plainview, Jericho, Syosset and the Brookvilles have seen a large influx of folks of Indian descent in the last two decades. It is just fantastic that there are a few restaurants and establishments that cater to these folks with love, care and the " real deal" - as in tasty and abundant food that takes one back to grandma's amazing fare. The name is Bengali but their menu is extensive and spans all delicacies from North, West and East India. The sweets and desserts are prepared fresh and I love that they have a sign that states to consume within 24 hours - fresh and lovely!! I had my mother's birthday get together in August catered by Bengali Sweet Shop and the 28 guests loved everything - the fantastic chick pea dish and soft, fluffy fried bread accompanying it( Chole Bhature), the lovely fried pastries filled with the potatoes, onions and peas( Samosas), the Papdi Chaat - street food with flat crackers, onions, potatoes, chick peas, yogurt and sauces( chutneys), steamed cake made from gram flour( Dhokla). No left overs, no doggy bags - everyone had thirds and more! They have amazing, really amazing stuffed paranthas ( wheat flour tortillas with some very creative stuffings). The displays of sweets and snacks are so inviting. Just picked up lunch for Mom and made her day!!!!!!

Always a great paratha and chaat served with. Good place for giant "Parathas" - Aloo with onions, coriander, ginger, and green chilli is my favorite. Bengali has been the center of Indian snacks and foods for 20+ years. They have an amazing variety of delicious Indian foods. It's mouthwatering delicious. Geeta and Rajesh are amazing hosts and have put Hicksville Indian foods on the map.

Is this a buffet or order at the counter type restaurant?

Order at counter type. I think they have a buffet for lunch though. I've only been there for dinner and have never noticed buffet then.

I had the Aloo Gobi Masala which was out of this world. The flavors were well balanced and tasty. My husband had the veg biryani. The portions were plenty and the ingredients super fresh! The restaurant is medium sized, lots of booths, and was decorated for Valentine's Day. They take reservations and were pretty busy. Service was good, although a little slow at the beginning. I tried the following dishes: Cauliflower Manchurian (3/5): This dish was pretty good, but not amazing. I did enjoy it. Garlic Chili Noodles (3.5/5): Pretty good noodles, not very spicy but good flavor and consistency. Hakka Chili Chicken (4/5): I liked this chicken, but my dining partner did not. The chicken was boneless dark meat, which I really like. You can get it with no, light, or full gravy. We did full and had it with rice. I did enjoy this dish. Overall, I had a pretty good experience at HAKA. No dishes were real standouts, but they were all decent. It is not a bad option for Indo-Chinese in the area.

The menu has both indian and chinese dishes. It's not fusion just two different cuisines being sold. We ordered a roll that came with shrimp tempura, mango and salmon. It was very good, a warm grill that felt like a sandwich. The side galore noodles we ordered were dry and not very flavourful. We ordered shrimp with then and they came with fried/tempura shrimp, which we found odd. There was also egg on the dish but it did nothing for the noodles. We ordered the noodles regular so they should have had some sauce but there was none. The chicken dishes were both really good. The chicken wasn't overly fried or breaded. It tasted fresh and had a good bite to it. I like the spicy garlic chicken a bit more because of the spice. The haka chicken was more of a sweet and salty flavor. Both were tasty. If I'm in the area I'll come back here.

It is a large establishment next to the very busy Ikea next door but I surmise people rather eat Swedish meatballs for half the price of Wild Fig. I ordered the Mixed Salad Bowl with chicken and my first impression was that it is quite similar to Cava. However, they emphasize that the main inspiration here is Turkish food which explains why the offer Pides. While Cava most definitely wins in the flavor category, Wild Fig's ingredients are less salty and oily. I would even believe that it might be healthier in that regard? The portions are above average and priced competitively. I was immediately prompted a tip screen on top of a $1 service charge fee. I did not ask what the service charge fee was for but at $12.99 a bowl these days, that is a good deal. I would need to come back a few more times to see if the complaints on other reviews are justified, but my experience today was good.

It I had sat at another to table I may have agreed that the facility was emaculate but since I had to wipe out table/ booth, I'm going to say, it can use a bit of tidying I had the chicken and steak salad and for extra because you get four choices, I choose chick peas. I also received the crushed chicken pea instead of white rice and I chose the chick pea based dressing. The food was pretty good and tasty. I didn't care too much for a good and hold plate in one setting. The temperature in the salad could have been closer to the temperature of the rest of the food. The steak was a bit chewy for my and the chicken appeared to have a hint of spice. I'm not complaining just stating my preference, my plus one had no mentions about the food but ete really didn't like the idea of them given her a dirty tray.

I dislike that the chicken sandwich pastrami sauce has pork in it, so anyone who avoids pig products like the plague needs to inform them when making the order. The sandwich itself was pretty good. The bread didn't cause my lips to flare up like other yeasts do. They didn't go heavy on the balsamic vinaigrette. The workers came out to greet me and give me a tour even though it's pretty self explanatory. I ordered a chocolate protein smoothie and the cups they have are larger than the portions they serve. They apologized like it was an inconvenience to me, but actually I was happy that I didn't have to worry about any overflow or spillage. I think it's great that it's a tad bigger. I also bought a pan de nata to try. They forgot to add the cinnamon, but it didn't need it. It was done to perfection. Bakers of All Nations in Mineola now has some good competition.
