A great spot if you want to get your moneys worth!! Stopped in around 1pm on a Thursday, and it was already happy hour! That means BOGO margaritas, I had the tropical margarita which was very good, and only $11!! Then I had the Fat Mamacita burrito which comes with shrimp, steak, Mac and cheese, corn, onion strings & fat boys sauce. The Fat Amigo is supposed to have jalapeño poppers, and normally there are 2-3 which isn't a lot but still seemed worth it for the burrito. The last time I got it there was exactly 1 popper. For a $16 burrito I don't think it's worth it anymore. Also added a topping for $1 and there were maybe 2-3 pieces. Their empanadas were decent, oil seemed a little old, but I would try again. So many good options to choose from. I was trying to be healthy so I got the flaco bowl - wow was it good! Grilled chicken, arugula, guac, broccoli & cauliflower. I was hesitant at first but the nice guy at the register said it was good, so I trusted him. I wasn't expecting anything great being that it was just grilled chicken, but it was soooo flavorful! My friend made his own bowl with barbacoa. Beware the hot sauce is very hot!! I loved how friendly the staff was. Nobody looked like they hated their job, everyone was working efficiently and super helpful. Music was good too! All around good vibes. The only potential negative was the size of the seating area but tbh I think most people order to-go so seating doesn't really matter. The set up is very efficient, with a special station to the left that's dedicated to to-go orders, so if you order ahead you can just get in and out. I think there is an outdoor patio too. Absolutely disgusting. I found a bone in the "Fat Boy Hawaiian " burrito I ordered. This was one of the most vile takeout experiences I've ever had. I bit into what I thought was a regular bite of my burrito--only to hit a whole bone. Not a small chip, but an actual bone hidden right in the middle of the filling. It completely turned my stomach. I felt nauseated and couldn't take another bite. This is basic food handling 101, and they failed. How does a bone end up in a burrito that's supposed to be steak and shrimp? Does no one check what they're serving? his happened on Cinco de Mayo--was the kitchen overwhelmed, drunk or just careless? Either way, it's beyond unprofessional. I ate here today with our awesome Yelp community manager Jared, and had a wonderful experience. Thank you to the staff for being so friendly and warm! It really stood out, and made the experience stand out. I was glad to have Jared have the full Fat Boys experience for the first time, as we both didn't get to eat much running around at the yelp event on Sunday! We started with the jalapeño poppers and chips/queso. The queso blanco and the poppers will always be my favorite app hands down. The flavors don't compare to anything else I've had. We were brought out complimentary chips and oreo tres leches/churro bites, which were phenomenal. The fat daddy burrito we went halfsies on, which I recommend to anyone who comes in with a friend. It's a lot to eat in one sitting. I like the chopped mozzarella stix that sit on top of the burrito halves. The crispy crisp bowl was another item we ordered, as well as the korean bbq tacos (another two favorites) I have enough leftovers for the week now!! I'm so happy I discovered this place! It's a pretty small place which can make it feel crammed when it's crowded, but their service is pretty fast! The staff is friendly and helpful, the place is very clean. They have a wide selection on the menu as-well. I ordered the steak Burrito for the first time, and although I wasn't a big fan of them cutting my burrito in half before serving it because I like eating the burrito as a whole lol. But man was it sooo good! You can tell off the bat that they use high quality ingredients. Literally the best steak burrito I've ever had. Huh. I almost don't know where to start. Let's just start at the beginning, I walked in, there's like 3 different registers and a bunch of random menus thrown on a table in the doorway. So one step in I'm looking at a menu, it's the noise level of Club of Yes in nyc. Tried to order a drink on the menu but they don't actually serve what's on the menus apparently. My plate was Woden and broken. The manager who looks like a washed up clavicular was rude, and condescending to both us and his employees, and did it all with his air pods in. The girl behind the register barely said hi before yelling at me to order. Complete unorganized chaos. Food was okay but had to wait an extra 10 mins for my cheese quesadilla. Also they don't have a tajin rim, and it's really neat because when I switched to a salt rim that didn't come out either. Food was served on a broken wooden plate. lol. Every time I go, it's a 10/10. The burritos are stacked, the ingredients are fresh, and the flavor combos are unmatched. I got the OG Fat Boy this time, and it was absolute perfection, cheesy, spicy, messy in the best way. Their chips and queso? Dangerous. I could eat that by the gallon. These burritos are seriously fat. We've gotten this food before and it's very filling and delicious so flavorful great menu. They have so many options. Anyone can pick something and be satisfied. I love getting a side of tater tots to break up the meal. We usually pick up of the burritos and it is so easy to order online and pay ahead. Usually when we get there you just give me the name and then the burritos it ready and they just give you a bag. They are super quick and nice. Inside is pretty much grab and go kind of vibe. Previously had Fat Boys Burrito at the other location. Didn't realize this location is more of a take out spot as that one is more of a restaurant. There was about 8 seats as high tops and those were taken. And a table for 4 and these two whale sized girls took that so I just opted to grab my food as take out instead. I checked in on Yelp and got a free fountain soda! This place is packed and super busy even at a random hour between lunch and dinner on a day with down pour rain. That means my food is super fresh and absolutely delicious and everyone agrees. LOL We got some burritos, and tacos, chips with salsa, added the trifecta so I can have guac and cheese.. some corn because they're my favorite and quesadillas for the kids. There is not one employee that was idle. It's super busy. from the moment they took my order to when I got my food it took 45 minutes. If the employees weren't getting frustrated for me and kept checking for me I would've been livid but they really seem to care that my food wasn't out yet and kept pushing the kitcheA few customers had similar issues that I did.. we all got messages that our orders were ready but upon entering the premises, our orders still needed 10-15 minutes more because they are behind and the system that sent the text didn't know that. Was it worth it though? Yes, absolutely! The fish wasn't fishy and it was not saturated oil. The aloha was worth it because their steak is super flavorful and complements the shrimp and other flavors while not overtaking each other. My favorite thing is the corn. And the sauce slathered on it was generous. The burrito was bigger than my child's face, but he tried to eat it. Unfortunately, he will not let me post this photo. We always love guac and my husband thought it was perfect . I think I would've preferred it with more cilantro but that's a professional preference. For the price point, the portions were huge. My previous reviews should let you know what a huge fan I am of this restaurant. I don't treat myself often to it because it's just such a big filling meal that needs a special evening. That said, I'm a little disappointed right now, nearly done with my burrito, because the service from the people who work and own this place is so good that I usually expect they can anticipate and help me with an issue such as the one I have: I ordered the BBQ burrito and I took off the jalapeños and the cilantro, which I just don't really like. Here's what's left as per the menu description: Slow cooked pulled pork carnitas, diced bacon, bourbon BBQ sauce, onion strings, "Fat `N Fluffy" rice, cheese blend, salsa fresca and crema. I'm sorry, but I really don't like anything spicy that will make my mouth not appreciate delicious food, but something in this burrito is just too fiery for me. I wish someone had noticed that I took off the jalapeños and may have given me the heads up . Further, I don't understand why the ingredients I just listed would incorporate anything significantly spicy. I read several descriptions of different burritos, which clearly made me shy away because of references to spice or heat. I never understand why restaurants aren't more careful to include spicy things without clearly, including clarity in their description. We saw lots of take out orders ready for pick up and the staff was very friendly. We got 5 different tacos. Unfortunately, I was not such a fan - and this could just be a preference thing. If I had to choose one place to become a real fat boy, it would be here. I never understood why gluttony was such a big deal in the Bible and this food opened my eyes. Absolutely delightful vibes once you enter: everything is so nicely decorated and the staff is invested in real human interaction. My man Adam had some nice back and forth with me during my order, so I was enjoying myself before the food even came out. I ordered the Fat Ranchero burrito and, for one, it came out in no time at all. The speed of service considering the quality of the food is impressive. The burrito itself is pretty large, so they're generous with portion sizes. The chicken itself had a subtle and delicious char to it, and the sauces around it completed the flavor profile. They packed this burrito with rice and I'm so glad they did: fluffy and buttery, beautiful for texture, and great at bringing together the flavors from everything else going on in this little jambalaya of a wrap. The fried onions were a favorite for me as well. That crunch followed by the long pull of the onion and the added flavor made this burrito nothing short of memorable. You get through all that and, just when you think you've ran the marathon of your life, you still have another huge half to enjoy. I washed everything down with their mango juice and, lemme tell you, this beats your typical soft drink by a long shot. Tastes like authentic mango and has a bit of a syrupy texture to it. It resembled a lot of juices native to the Caribbean, so I'm sure people coming from the city would especially appreciate it. Fat Boy's is a huge gift to Bellmore. I've done both take out and dine-in here, and surprisingly, I liked dining in better. When I first went, I was shocked by the lack of organization and the sanitary conditions of the restaurant. There were flies everywhere. They told us we *had* to sign up for the loyalty program to process our order. They did honor the Yelp coupon for free fountain drink, though it was after a bit of technical struggle. I got the Hawaiian as a bowl, and the shrimps were really small and flavorless, though the rest of the dish was good. Second time, I dined in during a non-busy Saturday lunch hour, and the experience was so different. Much smoother ordering, no one said a word about the loyalty program, the whole place was very clean, and the food came out in a reasonable time, despite them working visibly hard on a big catering order at the same time.
