I recently came back to Lemon Leaf Thai Restaurant on Mineola Blvd to pick up an order I placed in advance for a gathering at my friends' home. I was running a little late to pick up my order and they called me to confirm my order. I ordered a full tray of beef drunken noodle ($75.70) and an order of 6 mini spring rolls ($7.95). Drunken noodle is spicy stir-fried broad rice noodle with basil, onion and bell peppers. It's delicious and packed with flavor! The mini spring rolls were crispy. I walked into Lemon Leaf Thai Restaurant to pickup my order and it was right on the counter. It was quite busy inside too. All my friends really enjoyed the beef drunken noodle. A friend recommended Lemon Leaf to us and was he right. The food is really top notch. We started with steamed vegetable dumplings and tom kha gai. Dumpling wrappers were light and airy. Filling was very nice. The sauce was a little sweet and a little spicy. Soup was fantastic. Fragrant with a beautiful color. Little bit of heat and a lot of chicken. We shared an order of Eggplant, pad see ew, and the spicy shrimp. All were fantastic. The noodles were firm enough to stay together but melt in your mouth soft. The eggplant, with its vibrant purple color, was cooked perfectly. The shrimp was really nice but could have been spicier. Service was really great too. Very attentive. Our server actually tried to talk us out of some dishes because she said we had enough. My wife said I planned on having lunch and wanted to try everything. Lots of takeout orders while we were there too which made us happy for them. We will be back! read more

Had a late night craving for curry samosas and Thai iced tea after the gym. Called in 20 minutes before closing and they were ready in 10. The curry puffs are so delicious with the right amount of spice and the sauce was sweet in the best way. The Thai iced tea is great, not too sweet, just right! The interior design is beautiful, bright yellow table cloths and high resolution photography of Thai culture all around. The staff was very kind. I hate to be critical but I must and it's partially my fault. I should've seen all the signs upon sitting down in an empty restaurant at 5:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. I immediately had to use the wash room and the hallway floor to the bathroom is so greasy I almost fell. Secondly the bathroom is so dimly lit. You can't see within your own reach, perhaps invest in a lightbulb and lastly, the owner of the restaurant is standing by the kitchen entrance, which is a shared hallway into the bathroom, with a fly swatter, swatting at flies. Now onto the food! Let me start it's more Chinese on the menu than Thai. Our two entrees, first garlic chicken is really stir fried chicken with a bowl of rice and second entree is drunken noodle but its just ordinary beef cheung fun. Our spring roll appetizer was so unappealing, they're simply put onto an oversized plate which immediately turn my appetite away. Lemon Leaf is really chinese food disguised as Thai dishes. Both dishes bland and my drunken noodle was more sweet than spicy as advertised. The Zagat survey on the wall may have been true in 2009 but still hanging on the wall 14 years later doesn't represent the true taste and quality of a restaurant. Bottom line is I'm willing to give any restaurant a fair chance however, I doubt there will be a second visit. There are several authentic Thai restaurants around the area and much better overall experience for same cost. read more

Small restaurant on Mineola Blvd with even smaller parking space behind it, but we found a spot on the street the last time we were here. Reasonably priced and generous portions. Food was okay. Out of the entrees the four of us ordered, there was only one worthy of notice and praise (see photo below): Jumbo prawns in coconut batter (white sauce) with mango over fried white noodles and some tomato and broccoli. And kudos on the deep-fried coconut shrimp appetizer. It wasn't crowded upon our 6:30 arrival on Saturday night, and they seemed to have a brisker take-out business than in restaurant dining. One of us ordered a lychee martini and was very disappointed. We only saw one waitress. She brought out our dishes whenever they were ready, which for one of us meant that a hot entree was delivered while we we're having salads and appetizers. When you order Drunken Noodles at any Thai spot, you can EXPECT it to have some level of spice/heat. There was no spice in this at all, let alone any flavor. The noodles were dry and the overall taste was Bland. The texture of the beef was also mushy and questionable... Only thing good about this was the portion size. First time trying this place via Uber Eats delivery and had a good experience. The food arrived in 40 minutes after placing my order (I live 15 minutes away) and everything was still hot. The portions were bigger than expected, I ordered 5 entrees thinking they were going to be small and it was more than enough for the 4 of us. I ate my drunken noodle with beef as well as half the panang curry with chicken over rice, both were really tasty and flavorful. Everyone devoured the Mongolian beef so I'm guessing that was good too. The pad Thai was decent with a good amount of shrimp and I do not recommend the teriyaki chicken (Thai style), the sauce weren't our cup of tea and there was too many vegetables in this dish. None of the dishes were spicy, which was odd since Thai food is usually spicy or has a kick to them but nonetheless, I enjoyed it and would definitely order from here again. read more

My shrimp dumplings has peanuts shavings on top of it, which was fine because the dumplings taste bland. My seafood soup was just 2 pieces of shrimp and I think maybe pieces of fish? Eh. **1.5 stars** Ordered here recently and was highly disappointed. Not authentic. We ordered the drunken noodle and eggplant stir fry, pretty typical dishes you would find at a Thai restaurant. So the expectation here is that it should be pretty standard and low risk. We were very wrong. The drunken was actually sweet and not spicy at all. Not sure if its because they used sweet peppers but we had to add tons of siracha to spice it up. When I opened up the carton for the eggplant stir fry, it was literally drowning in a pool of oil/grease. It tasted as if it was actually boiled in oil and then dropped in the container instead of stir fried in a pan where you get some texture. I dumped out about 4-6oz of oil to even try to eat it. I called them to let them know, which they took the feed back graciously. They even called back to say explain that they had a new chef recently and apologized for the mishap. They at least tried to the right thing....but I think damage has been done. read more

I ordered delivery online and it was relatively quick for a Friday evening. The prices are similar to what other places charge, but of course a delivery fee. But the food was not very good. We ordered our two favorite noodle dishes, pad thai and pad see ew, and they were very bland. We thought they tasted more like Chinese style noodles than Thai, the pad see ew tasted simply like burnt soy sauce. First time trying this restaurant was a success! I've been searching for good thai food in Nassau County and I think I've found my place. I ordered the shrimp pad thai- it was delicious but watch out because it has a kick to it! It was too spicy for my mom but perfect for me. I also got the pineapple coconut chicken fried rice- SO GOOD! Chicken was cooked well too. Will definitely be back for it. Take out took less than 10 minutes. read more

Curry was watery, not thick like it should be. When you order curry, you aren't expecting soup/brothy texture with just a few chunks of other ingredients. I want creamy, full of flavor with plenty of veggies etc. and protein if you so wish. I was excited to try this place after picking up so many times as a DoorDasher but I also DoorDash for Sabeye in Sherwood and there's no comparison. Sad to say their food didn't blow me away in spite of all those numerous recognition plaques displayed in the dining area. The pad thai was dry and lack of flavor. The seafood #58 was ok but did not put a big smile to my husband. The vegetable and tofu green curry was liken by my vegan son for some reason or he may have missed Thai food ( he was home for his spring break). What I like about the place is so clean and upscale. The service was great, very efficient and prompt. It was quiet during the visit. Pricing is favorable. May not come back for dining but willing to get some take outs. read more

The seafood soup is very disappointing. It had two pieces of shrimp and some noodles. It had more mushrooms than seafood. My dad had the mango chicken and said the sauce was very good. It was also a very generous portion. I ordered the bean curd dish and thought it was delicious (great flavor and texture). I'm a good friend, especially on Friday nights. I'll pick up my buddy from Mineola Train Station and we'll venture off for some grub. Often he leaves me in charge of dinner, but occasionally he'll throw an idea out there. That's how we ended up at Lemon Leaf last Friday, and it might not be my last time trip. We'll see. I say that because LL wasn't exactly what I was picturing for a Thai restaurant. My Thai experiences are semi-limited (my own fault), but I've been opening the Yelp doors to more possibilities and I will say that Lemon Leaf was a decent starting point. The place is easily missable heading along Mineola Blvd, so keep your lemons peeled (get it? Sorry). Once inside you'll notice it's a tiny spot with a handful of pink table-clothed tables and a lovely bar area. The late 2000's pop music was an odd mood setter, but I'll move on to the chowing. We sat and started surveying the menu. To lead off the Thai-venture, an appetizer of chicken and veggie dumplings was chosen and quickly consumed. First bite I wasn't sure how I felt, but by the completion of the second, warm, dumpling I knew I was enjoyin' them. Now when it comes to Thai food and my preconceived notions, I'm thinking Thai equals spicy. Like really spicy. Mouth on fire spicy. The waiter bellowing laughter in the corner while I guzzle down milk spicy. What I ordered (Drunken Noodle) had one of those little red chili symbols next to it so I hoped I would be in spicy town soon. But alas, the sauced noodles, onion, pepper, and chicken were hot in temperature yet lacked any real kick. The chicken was also somewhat dry which didn't help with the omission of mouth heat. Still passable, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Overall, Lemon Leaf was a nice Thai meal, but didn't take it up a notch like I had hoped. Service and price were sufficient and balanced things out to a 3.5, rounded down. I would return on another Friday, post train station pickup, but if I'm looking for Thai tastiness again I'll probably try some other locales before my next stop in. read more

Love that it's a mom & pop shop type of restaurant but they have many negatives to fix. The sauce with the springs rolls are BOTH watered down. Same thing with the curry sauce in their main dish, it is extremely watered down. The drunken noodles were drenched it hoisin sauce.. service was great (i think it's the owners sons) but the chef needs to be changed... best part was the thai tea we had. read more

I'm just gonna speak from the heart for this one: this is a horrible disappointment of Thai food. I was so excited to try this restaurant, i ordered the spicy basil fried rice with chicken and it could barely be classified as Thai food. Who puts a bag of frozen mixed vegetables i to their Thai food? Apparently this restaurant. It was so far below mediocre honestly the only positive is that the food was delivered fairly quickly. It wasn't spicy at all, unless you count adding an extreme amount of black pepper spicy, i don't know I've ordered from there twice, ordering different menu items but it's just not good. I don't recommend if anything drive a few miles into queens and get yourself some authentic Thai food it's worth it. read more
