My car was towed from my apartment complex. Yes it's my fault for not having my parking permit fully displayed. That's on me. But they improperly towed my all wheel drive SUV from silver spring to Gaithersburg causing damage on my rear differential. One month later, and not a single response from authorized towing regarding getting my car fixed. All I'm being told is email their manager and still no response. My vehicle was towed yesterday morning because my handicapped placard was "out of view". Upon arriving to Authorized Towing (which was almost 30 minutes north of where my car was towed - in front of our co do building), a very hostile tow truck driver barked at me and my husband, stating that we cannot go near our vehicle until we talk to the attendant. Upon approaching the "Front Office" (more like a prison cubicle that's designated for conjugal visits), I asked to view the photograph(s) taken of the vehicle when it got towed. The attendant demanded that my husband surrender his driver's license to go and look. This is where the two photos (see attached) come into play. Look at the rear view mirror and where the placard "fell"; there is truly no way that my placard, the same one that's never fallen off of the rear view mirror in five years, "fell" where Authorized Towing is saying it fell. I truly believe that between their "story" not lining up and the fact that the attendant huffed and puffed as soon as we tried to contest their claims, that they are responsible for my placard being mishandled. After the Manager called the attendant and explained that she needs to release our vehicle and not charge us, instead of apologizing she just continued with her nasty attitude. And, she didn't give my husband his license back. We had to drive all the way back just to get it, and even then both the two truck driver and the attendant were so rude and unprofessional. (PS: the attendant working looked like a 16 year old girl who flunked out of high school. She had no sense of urgency, no "bedside manner"; the worst Customer Service I have ever received.) If your car ends up here, fight it. I truly believe this "business" is just scamming us all. read more

Looks like they changed locations and name to EC towing inc now at 8011 Beechcraft Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20879 They are a scam a crooks. My visitor pass was ripped off and thrown under the seat. After they towed my car with out looking and damaged my driver side door trying to Jimmy the door open to remove the visitor pass. 2nd time I got a dash came and my car was registered. They towed my car took it to the lot then must have figured out it was registered towed the car back. The spot i was originally parked was taken so they backed the car in in a different spot on the other side of the apartment building. ALL on video Worst company ever read more

This company is know to scam people for a long time. They have been investigated by the better business bureau and have lost their LLC more than once. They work with a parking pass company to edit data on when cars were registered to make it "legal" to tow. Although they have been sued and lost dozens of time, this is a sound proof scam they're running because most people don't have the time to go to small claims court over 170 dollars. I know 4 different people who have been scammed by them when parking as a guest legally with the correct pass at apartment complexes. Beware of any apartment property that has a contract with this company. Side note they changed there name on google to avoid the publicity. read more

This company will tow your vehicle even if you are parked in the correct parking spot and make up a reason why they towed it. Also have poor customer service, they purposely take vehicles and charge you for it back. read more

When I called Authorized Parking Management to have them towed. Victoria from Authorized Parking Management, would not take down the information, nor would have someone come tow it, until their tow truck made it's round sometime around 1200 midnight, but was unable to tell me when they would come. We pay a premium for these apartments, so I expect when we call to have an unauthorized vehicle towed, they tow it. I understand no one likes to get their car towed but with the service that is provided here it makes it feel a little bit better! For one they are open 24/7 you can pick up your vehicle at anytime, which is great, and the customer service is top tier and they give an explanation to why your vehicle was towed and what to be aware of in the area that you were towed in. Predatory towing practices where they hide the truck and hang out in the establishment. Within 3 minutes of me parking, my sports car was wrenched caddy corner onto their rack (with witnesses cringing) and the rack gouged out my bumper. I stopped the driver and have video evidence of the damage. Very rude and defensive. My insurer had tried to contact them and has been ignored. My email attempts used to get through but now I am blocked (because I asked for their insurance carrier). They refuse to answer the phone. I wish I could give 10 stars. They went above and beyond to help me get my car back after it was towed at my place of business. My car was towed wrongly by another tow company. I worked with Tonya who is the office manager and was amazing to work with to resolve this issue and had my car towed back to my office. Once my car arrived back to my office I received a phone call from the driver. I met Gevaughn the driver outside. He was so friendly and polite. He paid using his credit card, which he barely uses, and got his card info stolen to buy food from grubhub totaling almost $400! USE CASH!!!! Update: 2.22.17: I've filed complaints against this company with two agencies: 1. The better business bureau which lacks authority but has the power to get the word out - Their current grade on the BBB website is "F" (the absolute lowest) with a highest possible grade being "AAA". 2, The Maryland Consumer Affairs Agency: They wrote me that this company is "very difficult to work with" and the guy added "as you've already learned" which made me laugh. He wrote that he had sent three letters to this co. and they, typically had not answered my complaints. Still waiting to see if an when something will happen. Its apparent that the company is viewed as malicious and crudely managed by local professional agencies. Why they are still in business is a mystery to me. The following story is what happened to me and my vehicle at their hands - it sounds outrageous and it is - but I get the definite sense that to the trashy employees here, mine was just an average transaction. A photo of this company's lousy location should be under the word "scummy" in the encyclopedia. They are used to dealing with angry people whose vehicles have been towed, often for no discernible or legitimate reason. They know they are hateful, one would think they would go out of their way to be somewhat civil. Instead they seem to take warped pleasure in being insolent, offensive and vicious with the people who are forced to pay for the privilege of retrieving their vehicles. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle a surly woman inside the office behind the bulletproof glass refused to speak up despite the fact that it was pouring down raining and the noise on the tin roof of the landing was deafening. I do not know what she was attempting to communicate so I simply handed her my MasterCard. After I asked the woman to speak up she became irate took my credit card for a few minutes, shutting the narrow slat in the double glass that protects her from people whose irritation she arouses. A few minutes later, she opened the slat and said incredibly, "fuck you" (apparently without having processed my payment,) because before handing her the card. I said "This is America" meaning "you cant keep me from retrieving my car.") Then the woman flung my credit card out (it landed on the wet metal landing) and said "I was born here"! I said "I don't care where you were born " . My hand was still in the window as she slammed it shut cutting and bruising the top of my left hand. My sister and I were left out in the pouring rain (January). My hand was bleeding profusely and in excruciating pain. I attempted to call the leasing office of the apartment complex that contracted Authorized Towing for help as obviously she had no intention of allowing me to retrieve my car. While I was on the phone talking to the leasing office, the police arrived, saw me and my sister standing on the metal platform in the downpour and asked me what was happening? I gave a brief explanation and one of the officers said "they (Authorized Towing) called us"; Then after giving me about 1 minute of their time, and since it was cold and raining, they went in to the trailer-like (except for its tight security and forbidding barriers-to-access) building to get out of the weather; ultimately, no one was found at fault by the police, who did not take my report even though I stated that I wanted to file one against the company and the irrationally hostile window-slamming woman. The officer merely replied from behind the bulletproof glass "okay" but the two officers did not emerge from the building after I paid $144 and a man again from behind the glass allowed me access to the vehicle by vaguely pointing to an unlocked gate about twenty yards up the street. Nor did the cops so much as offer me a band-aid through the bulletproof window although one of them did ask to see the hand which I dutifully displayed (see photos). a video recorder is apparently trained on the landing because one of the cops inside said through the slat in the window: "well you said something "insulting" (as though insults are a crime at least justifying assault) to (the surly, foul mouthed woman). He was referring to my comment that "this is America". Apparently the woman indicated to the cops that she took it as a racial slur. I told the cop "yes, I made a comment, as in "this is america- you can't just keep my vehicle" and that shut him up (though he said nothing about the woman flinging my card out the slat saying "fuck you" and assaulting me in lieu of doing her purported job. I would guess that the cops either utilize this company for towing services at a reduced rate or there is some other (monetary kick back? towing referrals? "look the other way policy"?) symbiotic connection going on between the two. Depressingly base company owned and operated by cutthroat people - blatantly hostile as they steal your money without bothering to make any excuses or even act like human beings. read more

these people are arrogant, disrespectful and the information they give you by phone is inaccurate. we decided to pass by my mothers home for a couple minutes before our 5 hour ride back home. to our surprise : when we got back to the parking lot ; literally 15 minutes later, the car was gone. i called the tow company and i spoke to a guy who was literally no help. he didn't no why the car was towed and he told us it would be $132 to release it to us. i called back 20 minutes after to confirm what i needed to bring before i left : i spoke to a lady whom said it would cost $148 - she was pretty rude about it too and said i was making it up about the $132 ... this has been by far the worst experience we've had in maryland & i pray we never have to deal with this garbage company again. update : 07/03/19 - they damaged our van and arent responding to our damage claims. ive been trying to contact brooke as ive been told she handles the damage claims. its been a week, i call every single day and i always get told she is at a meeting/ not there/ or just left. she doesnt call me back or respond to my emails. the van is in bad condition as they damaged the bottom. when they towed the car all our furniture was in there - and both tvs have cracks lcd screens , so many broken furnitures/mirors , because of their mishandling the vehicle. if i dont hear back i will have to take legal action against this company. read more

This is a classless, dishonest and unprofessional company. First, they towed my car without my authorization and moved it to a different area of the parking lot. Then they damaged my car by causing the exhaust pipe to bend in half and who knows what else in the under carriage. But the worst part is this: after damaging my car, they would not have anyone investigate my claim and instead the rude receptionist just constantly gave me and my insurance company the run around by claiming that no one was in the office to help us and we should call back later. This is a backward, rinky dink operation. HURT THEM WHERE IT HURTS MOST. Call the Consumer Protection Division in the Montgomery County Government and have an investigator follow up. Apparently this is a common occurrence and so they have a special division for Towing Companies. read more

Applied online for proper parking pass... got up 5 o'clock in the morning to drive 3 hour ride home.... and car was missing could not find a phone number anywhere to call ...called 911... found the car ...talk to the operator at the towing service they put me on hold for a long time finally got there and they did not tell me I needed to pay exact cash.. then they had a bullet-proof window which tells you something as well ...also would not give me a receipt or would not let me see my car before signing the receipt ..then when I did get my car the tire was flat and they would not accept responsibility... called 911 to get a police report police will not come out for incidents like that read more

I wish I could give 0 stars for this poor service. Not only have they towed me numerous when I have had my authorized pass, but they are rude, condescending, and just straight up thieves. Tonight they almost ran over my neighbors who were trying to stop them by accelerating pass them with my tesla on the back of it which was towed INCORRECTLY causing damages. If I could give this shitty business 0 stars I would. This towing company is made up of a bunch of shitty people who are only looking to profit off of shitty situations. And it's not like I ever expected people who own towing companies to be nice, because they probably have to deal with a lot of not nice people themselves. But Brooke Chambers is incredibly rude and does not know the first thing about working at a position where you need to regularly communicate or correspond with others. Rental car got towed due to a miscommunication between this company and my apartment complex, after an hour of the apartment's leasing manager trying to just have them release the car, we went to the office to sign out the car and Brooke was there to again want to rehash the situation and figure out why she should be doing what the leasing manager asked. Not to mention, her fellow employee Dianna who tried to work this issue out with us on the phone earlier but couldn't let us get a word in edgewise because she was so riled up herself! Everyone knows that no one will be happy when your car gets towed so you would expect a low rating on this company. Yet, when you call 15 times within an hour to make sure your car was taken there and to get information on there location and no one picks up the phone, that is just bad practice. I'm no expert on car towing companies but this company spared absolutely every expense. Their lot is super tiny and they pack the cars in as tight as possible (driving away is a gamble because you could take half of another car or leave half of yours) and the window where you pay is the most dangerous and ghetto thing I've ever seen... Ever. There's a rickety steel stair case that is barely wide enough for one to walk up and it ends in a 2 square foot landing so there's no room for elbows. There also aren't any sidewalks and this place is up on a hill... Don't wear heels like I did, you might not make it to your car :( read more
