About a year ago we had the front bumper on our F250 repainted due to rock chipping and a few cars "touch parking"... we were advised to spend some extra money and have the bumper sanded all the way do to ensure a smooth "new" appearance which we did...at the time the truck came back and looked great. A month or so ago we noticed that the paint on the bumper was just pealing off in small sections in several locations. Since it was under warranty we took it back and John came out and looked it over. After a few minutes he confirmed they had an issue with one of their previous painters and possibly some of the paints. He pointed out that since we had "done it right" the first time that the repair would be under warranty and they they would "take it all the way down" and we were covered. We get scheduled to come in a few weeks later and during check in the young lady used the exact same wording, warranty, all the way down etc... so we dropped it off without any reservations. A few hours later I get a call from John telling me that unless we pay them $250 to "take it down" it will "not look good" when we're done. They only intended to sand it in the few areas where the paint peeled even though there is obvious adhesion issues. Needless to say I was a bit upset, at no time during the previous two meetings were additional costs ever brought up even as they stood there looking at it. He tried to accuse us of using a high pressure "pressure washer" to wash the car... no way. We occasionally take it through Costco but usually hand wash it ourselves. So they "bait & switched" us into paying for work that was under warranty because otherwise it would "look bad"... we were about to ask them to paint the side of our Tesla as it had a deep scratch but with this business ethic, or lack thereof, there is no way we will ever bring them another car nor will we be recommending them. We felt totally betrayed and taken advantage of. They told us we had the same warranty as before but at this point if the paint falls off the truck again I would pay to start all over with a reputable company. Avoid this place, it's not that they have questionable ethics, it's that they have none at all... read more

Brought my new Ford F150 here when I had an accident involving a frame dent. My insurance company USAA was screwing me around (very disappointing), but Rick and John helped me hold my ground. They recommended a full frame replacement based on their experience, but my insurance company wanted to section the frame and do a cheaper repair. After 60 days of jacking around with insurance, we finally got them to see that the full frame was the way to go. It was painful, but ACR was looking out for me. They would have made more money on the labor intensive frame sectioning, but they knew that a full frame replacement would be better for me. Thanks! read more

Unfortunately, my wife was sideswiped over the weekend so we find ourselves in need of a good repair facility ... again. So it's back to Advanced Collision Repair in Escondido. Over the last 15 years we've done something on the the order of $60K in business there -- most paid by our insurers of course. David and George operate a clean, first rate facility, they do excellent works and have a terrific crew. The paint always matches and the car doesn't rattle afterward. I've spent a few hours in their shop while I dropped off and picked up cars and I am struck by how gentle they are with people in pain. I've seen them do incredibly kind acts for people that were hurting. They get to see a lot of people having bad days and they do their best to help them. What I appreciate most about them is how they "handle" the insurance companies. They're fair and speak softly and yet, carry a big stick. In the few instances when we discovered the vehicle needed additional work the Brothers Simental, David and George, got the adjusters out promptly and received the funding necessary to make the repairs. Other shops just roll over and quit trying -- and you end up with a damaged ride that just lost much of it's resale value. They stay in touch and let you know exactly what's going on and when you'll get your wheels back. That's rare. I know this because I've been coerced into using other shops on a couple of occasions. Don't let your insurance company bully you into using one of their "certified" shop. it seems "certified" is just another word for "collusion". Insist on Advanced. Very cool: they are just around the corner from a rental car agency and what with the extraordinary service and the convenience of the rental car agency it makes for relatively seamless service. Automobile accidents are always a hassle. But George and David do everything they can to make a bad situation as good as possible. I've recommended them to 5 or 6 friends and colleagues over the years and I've made a point to check back to see how they did. In every case I heard nothing but accolades. Advanced Collision fixed my 2015 Ford Mustang and made it look as though there had never been an accident at all. I had to deal with an insurance company with a poor reputation for customer service, but Advanced handled everything and even got them to approve 4x the initial estimate. Lucy in customer service did a wonderful job of communicating with me every step of the way, and was very attentive to every concern that I had. She even waived their usual daily storage fee when I informed her I would be out of town for a week and may not be able to pick the car up right away. To top things off, they even drove me to and from my apartment a couple miles away. This was a pleasant surprise, and saved me the time and money of having to take an Uber. While talking to my driver, Dave, I learned that he is one of the owners of the shop. He was very pleasant and it's clear to me that he sets a strong example of customer service for the rest of his team. I didn't get the names of any of the mechanics who actually worked on the car, but they did a fantastic job and I am confident that no one would be able to tell there had ever been any damage at all. Hopefully, I will never have reason to return, but if I do have the misfortune of being in another collision, I will absolutely be going to Advanced Collision. We had a drunk with a boat trailer hit the left rear of the step part of the bumper of my truck. Due to the bumper hitting a part of the bed and bending a bumper bracket the bumper, bed, and all associated parts had to be removed for the bed to be repainted. The bumper and step were also damaged. This happened at the end of March. Had to wait until the last week of June to get in and get the work done due to the same short staffing issues that many businesses have. Advanced was the shop that Quality Chevrolet suggested to do the work. Got the truck back today and they did a beautiful job. The truck was given back to me cleaner than It was when I dropped it off even though I washed it and cleaned the interior before I dropped it off. During the whole almost four month process Advanced kept me in the loop and I felt like they really cared about me as a customer.
