What started off as a stressful day turned around thanks to Jonathan. He was personable, friendly, and funny, which really brightened my day and gave me a much-needed laugh. I arrived 30 minutes early for my appointment, and Jonathan jokingly mentioned there was an additional charge for early arrivals. It was a funny moment! When my smog check was completed, I exclaimed, "Yay, it passed!" to which he humorously replied, "Who said it passed?" Lol! I brought my car in for a coolant leak and ended up spending over $4,000 due to repeated price increases and questionable tactics. Initially quoted $950, I paid more than $2,000, but the leak persisted. I was told to bring it back as the work is under warranty. After returning, I was told the new leak wasn't covered by warranty and faced a choice: pay $600 for labor or agree to another $1,300 repair, which later rose to $1,900. Avoid this place like the plague. Update: I was racking my brains to figure out why this place had a bunch of Five Star reviews. And the answer came in the mail! A cease and desist letter from an attorney trying to bully me to delete my review. Of course I did not. In stead my attorney wrote them a nice letter back reminding of something called the 1st amendment. First time trying this auto shop and it's great. Talk to Johnathan, he's very friendly and helpful. Had a radiator leak and they replaced my thermo sensor assembly. They also noticed my turbo was leaking oil and a few of my tires were bald. They will give you an online portal with pictures to describe each issue. I had an emergency and was freaking out! This car is typically not driven. Well I was driving it today, got off work around 5:15pm and was on the freeway unexpectedly hearing a usual sound, which was the plastic scrapping underneath. I then quickly looked up the nearest Auto Repair. Coming to realize that I arrived at 5:28 and they close at 5:30. Found this place on Yelp and called to see if they had availability for a smog check. The technician said it was better to have an appointment and he could get me in later that afternoon. Price quoted was $50 which was $10 less than another nearby location. When I arrived for my appointment, they got me right in and completed the smog check promptly. Friendly and professional staff, and easily accessible location. COVID restrictions have their waiting room closed but they do have outdoor seating set up which is noisy because of the busy intersection. Highly recommend and would definitely use again. read more

Its rare to find a auto "scare" center you can trust. Auto Care Service Center is trustworthy. I brought my car here for SMOG test. I was told my perfectly working a-o-k catalytic converter has been outlawed by the great state of California. Imagine the expletives and I vomited knowing in my mind how much catalytic converters can cost. David quoted $675 and he worked with me a little bit coming down. I called several other places and was quoted $1500-$3000. Its crazy how that works. Once I got over my sticker shock, as I just don't have $650 to spare I opted to take a chance here. I came away with questions and that bothers me. First the good stuff: They did the smog check and it was quick and affordable. Customer services was lovely. When I asked, they even checked the oil for me at no charge. I was told that a belt was cracked and worn. And that they recommended changing the transmission fluid. I opted to take the car to my regular mechanic for the belt and sure enough, it needed changing. The thing is, my mechanic said the transmission fluid was fine. I'd had the vehicle in to Penske Ford in March 2018 and they did not recommend changing the transmission fluid. I've only driven it a handful of times since March. So, while the guy at Auto Car only looked quickly and informally and might have been mistaken, the car was looked at by two separate mechanics, before and after the folks at Auto Care Service Center looked at it, who did not recommend changing the transmission fluid. I'm not sure what to make of it, but I would proceed with caution for anything other than smog check. I only took two stars off because what they did for me was great. And, I'm not sure how subjective the transmission fluid might be. But, I admit, it felt questionable. read more

This father-son shop is so great. I have been going to them for a few years now. They are always very honest and the work is great. This week my car started to shake in neutral. The engine light came on a few times. Rather than tempt fate I dropped my car off at their place in the evening and called them in the morning to let them know. They were busy but took a look at it and found that a part they previously installed (months ago) had been defective. The told me that the part was still under warranty and they did the repair free. This is probably the most honest mechanic shop I've ever experienced in my life. Very professional and amazing customer service. Previously went to a different shop and they recommend that I needed to replace both front and rear breaks. So I shopped around and found these guys. Asked them that I needed a quote for a front and rear break job and I got quoted much cheaper than the other shop. David took real good care of me and made me feel safe and understanding of what's going to be needed to get me back on the road. Rever the tech went ahead and lifted the vehicle to inspect the breaks... 15 mins later came back and said that I'll only be needing the front breaks and nothing else. Saved me money and time. Before we came here we went to Rancho Auto Service up the street who told us they were booked for the day & that we needed an appointment, even though we just needed a simple Smog Check!
