    Murphy's Auto Sales

Murphy's sells pre owned, older higher mileage cars at low prices. We were in the market for a car…read morefor my 17 year old , passed the place a few times, did my research online and decided to go in and have a conversation with the sales person. Now, Murphy's is on a strip of route 18 with some similar dealers and I was prepared to speak to an oily salesman in a leisure suit with no other goal than to take my money. I was dead wrong. Bruce, the sales guy, was brutally honest about what he did and what they sold. Yes, the cars were older, may have had cosmetic blemishes, high mileage and there was most likely something wrong mechanically. But they would go to a mechanic, get checked, guaranteed to pass inspection and my biggest shock : a 30 day warranty. So I took the plunge and let my son invest his hard earned money. A nicer midsized car perfect for him. He loved it, it wasn't a beer can that would collapse in an accident and all was right with the world. 2 weeks later, a brake line blew. This was when I was sure the other shoe was gonna drop. I was fully prepared to have AAA tow it to my mechanic and I would eat the cost of the repair. Not so. I called Bruce and the only thing he had to say was " Geez, so sorry. We'll cover it." WOW. The mechanic sent a truck, and in 3 days the car was ready, fixed and at no charge to me. If you've read this far, you should know that at every turn my predisposition of used car dealers was proved wrong. For a cheap car I got Mercedes service. My kid feels like he hit the jackpot with this car and I'm thrilled with Murphy's.
