I recently purchased a used car from Bourne's Auto Center and had a really good experience. I'm not used to buying used cars and had a lot of anxiety about it, along with many questions. Kim Bailey was really friendly and patient in handling my questions and helping to facilitate the process. Everything felt transparent and I never felt any pressure from Bourne's Auto Center. There was a paperwork mistake (by our insurance company) and Bourne's was super understanding. It also turned out that there was a minor issue with the car tire after purchase impacting inspection and Bourne's took care of it through reimbursement since we live so far away. Also sold me a car with broken electronic. They use sneaky language in negotiations and customer service is awful. Don't want someone to go through that some people don't have the money to spend that type of money on such a new car and pay their payment. My daughter and son in-law had problems with their vehicle that broke down, the vehicle was over consuming oil, they were told to get a complete oil change and continue to drive it until the oil light came on, to witch it flickered on slightly then it shut off and Brandon told them to drive it until the oil light stayed on continuously to witch the oil light never did yet the engine light came on.well while on vacation they broke down and took the vehicle back to Bourne's because they have a warranty, well the warranty did not cover the engine problem with the over consumption of oil, the service manager Brandon Wright was totally disrespectful and unprofessional to those who called concerning the repairs on the vehicle, they were ill advised to drive around in a vehicle that could potentially cause harm to precious cargo, my children.. and for them to get a rental was like pulling teeth because they were informed that all 30 of their rental cars were being rented out, it took someone else to call the general manager to get them involved and get a rental, now as we speak my son in-law is being told that they will be charged to clear a code??! In my experience with real auto mechanics they never charge to clear a code because real mechanics want to make sure it's not something that has gone faulty... I was going to go to Bourne's to get a newer vehicle for myself because I was told how good they are yet seeing how dishonest the service manager is and how disrespectful to my children and sister in-law because she was the co-signer for the vehicle and knowing that the vehicle was consuming to much oil he should of investigated further to diagnose a problem instead of having them drive in my opinion a death trap. Brought car for service to be told RI residents don't get complimentary service of having Uber called for you, even though it was repeated multiple times over the phone. This was a supposed complimentary service for people who bought the warranty coverage, which according to Borne's recommends you bring your car to them if you are within 50 miles. I couldn't get a rental either because that requires a 3 week notice that was not mentioned when I called in far in advance. Instead, offered to drive a CUSTOMER car that needed to be returned before end of day, which was unethical and not practical in my view. I am posting this for my family member: My name is James and I had a massive stroke a couple of months ago. My wife needed a car and we live in Nashua, New Hampshire. We looked for months at local car dealerships. It was difficult for me to have one of my sons go with her and nothing seemed to work out. My brother has been working dealing with a dealership in Easton, Massachusetts called Bourne's for about 30 years. I'm not sure but it's been a long time and he's probably purchased close to 8 cars from them over the years for himself and his kids. He told me they have great sales people there like David Pair. My brother actually drove up from Florida to go to Easton Massachusetts where Mike Kelly (GM) and David Pair took care of him immediately and made him a great deal. He was quickly in his next car which he ended up driving back to Florida. He again told me the great interaction he had with Bournes so we decided to start looking at their online inventory. www.bournes.com After identifying a few cars we wanted to test drive. My wife and one of my sons took the trip from Nashua to Easton. It only took two test drives to decide on a vehicle. David was so helpful. No pressure and understood the difficulties that my family was challenged with now. As we went through the car, David noticed a few spots that needed attention and possibly be buffed out. He suggested that we give him a few days to take care of this. Not only did they fix any paint job, but they also repainted two doors and the back bumper. This was never asked for by me, but they took it upon themselves to make the car look brand new. Then instead of my family driving back down to Bournes, due to my stroke, they brought the car to Nashua New Hampshire so that my wife could register and drive it home very easily. They actually had David drive the car up to the registry and another gentleman pick up my wife to take her to the car. She did not have to make it big another hour plus trip to Bourne's. This does not happen with car buying today, or any buying today. Bourne's truly has the understanding, and the honesty is second to none I cannot thank them enough for everything they did to be so kind and helping us make this very difficult situation a little bit easier so that now my wife has a car that fits a wheelchair and can get me around much easier. I wholeheartedly want to thank David and Mike for everything they have done. This has meant the world to us and I am now looking at two more cars to purchase from them. Went to Barnes's auto for a repair. The staff is very professional as you would expect a business to be. I gave the service representative the details of what was wrong with my car. He made notes of everything and I got a call back when the car was ready. The car was fixed in a timely manner and when I receive the keys back the service representative went out to my car started for me and removed the tags on the key and the mirrors, and the floor protection paper completely satisfied with the service at Borns auto. read more

PLEASE GO ANYWHERE, I MEAN ANYWHERE, BUT HERE!! Extremely dishonest and hands down the most unreliable and unresponsive sales team I've ever come across. I bought a car from these people back in May for what I thought was being sold at about $13k that I am now paying close to $16,000 for due to their negligence. I put a total of $3,000 on the car for a down payment and well, long story short, they included a $2,183 "service contract fee" that I did NOT agree to when the salesman asked if I wanted to do service with them up to 100k miles. So, that "down payment" was a joke and didn't help anyone but Bourne's. Since the beginning of October, I have tirelessly tried emailing the salesman 4 separate times (as of today) for an explanation to no avail. The only response I got was after I told them I would be leaving a review here and "that if I canceled the "service contract" that my monthly car payment would not change." So, where does that $2,183, which I thought was going to my down payment, go? Since they cannot give me any sort of reasonable explanation for why my car that was priced at $12,600 is now costing me close to $16k, I figured I'd leave this review to warn others. Very unprofessional for a dealership. I had 5k down for a car and waited 3 days just for Mario to ignore my inquiry and the car I wanted sold. I was coming from out of state and pretty much was purchasing with not even test driving or seeing it in person. I had to call them multiple times to check in as well, and it took 24 hours for my application to even be looked at, then got a call about 39 hours later for financial proof. Then about 4.5 hours later I get a text message that the SUV I was interested sold. Never got a call from Mario, never got asked for a down payment, nothing from Mario. Jarrod on the other hand, i heard more from him then Mario. I didn't wanna cut from Mario since that was my first point of contact and didn't want a rift because we all know car sales equals commission and don't wanna take from someone's table. I also had 1k cash for Mario as a tip because I looked for 3 months for this specific SUV, miles, money, trim etc. Apparently little old me wasn't worth a while to this place. Bait and switch tactics are alive and well at Bourne's Snake Oil market! Only giving one star because zero isn't an option. I expressed interest in a car and received multiple assurances that it was available. Including the day of my visit to the dealership's location in the back crack of east west nowhere. 40+ minute drive each way. Just before I left I was told that the bumper was being repainted but it would be drivable in roughly 90 minutes. I arrived less than an hour later. When I arrived it was clear that the car had been test driven. That alone isn't a problem. But when I walked in and was told after being seated at the desk of my would-be salesperson that the car had "just" been sold, that's when I got annoyed. That's ridiculous. Totally asinine. Buying a car isn't a quick process. The car had been sold before I left for the dealership and they decided to play dumb in order to get me in the doors. Shady! Stay away! read more

I had a very pleasant experience today at Bourne auto sales. They held a vehicle for me, scheduled a test drive. When I arrived there was no waiting. I was taken care of right away. I purchased the vehicle and was given a very fair trade in value on my old car. Tori my sales person was very helpful, extremely friendly and a pleasure to do business with. She even personally cleaned the rims on my new car! George in finance did an amazing job getting me in to the car with very good financing. A week later I had to pay my mechanic $300 to have brake pads changed, I'm sure they would've done it for free if it brought it back, but I just had brought it back because of a different squeaking noise that they said they were going to fix before I drove it off the lot... they didn't until I drove it home and back. When you think: car dealer, the first thing that comes to mind isn't always positive. Bourne's Auto Center exists in the rare air of couteous, competent, caring car dealers. I did our whole transaction for our Volvo SUV over the phone, and every step of the way, Manager Andrew Gesner was on top of what I asked for, and delivered every condition I requested, which were many, including delivering the car from MA to CT and doing the registration, title and plates for me at a reasonable fee. Sometimes I had to wait to get someone on the phone, but that is the worst scenario. They did great follow-up, and even the transport guy, and the service department I called to ask a question, were very helpful and kind. I can't say enough good about the honest, ethical, friendly manner in which I was treated, not to mention a great car at a fair price, and services that went above and beyond the norm. When you drop thousands on a vehicle, over the phone, it means you have a level of trust that is above usual. They delivered on that. Thank you Bourne Auto Center. We will be back, we will refer our friends, and we hope the Yelp community will support an auto center that does it right. read more

If you purchase a vehicle from these thief's make sure that if they said your vehicle has "Lo Jack" that you call Lo Jack the company to verify. When I called 3 times to verify with Bourne's that the Lo Jack they charged me $600 for and they would not "tell me where in the car it was located" after verifying with Lo Jack Shawn the sales manager was lying it took almost a year for my refund from Bournes and over 30 calls where again Shawn stated I would get my money back and a courtesy credit. Finally after a year I received my money but, no "courtesy credit" because conveniently they stopped responding and these crooks didn't honor their word! Buying a car from here has by far, been the worst experience I've had. The car dealership I've bought my last three cars from- with NO problems- moved quite far. I was thrilled to find the car in the color I wanted at Bournes auto. I went through the process and had my car a week later! I picked it up on a Friday and by Monday was calling in. Right off the bat- my car was not detailed- in fact it was rather disgusting inside. My navigation did not work, the wind from outside going over 50 MPH sounded like it was going to break through my window, and my turn signal- snapped. I called after the weekend and scheduled to have the car assessed. I sat for 1.5 hours to learn that the dealership never gave me the SD card for the navigation, the windshield was after market so the noise was something I would deal with- and that the signal would be replaced next week and to expect 1.5 hour repair. I was told the cars are wiped down, but not cleaned with "a fine tooth comb". Let the pictures I took let you determine if it would be clean to your standards. I spent $24,000 on this car. I have never had to deal with such issues with a purchase of that amount. I brought the car in for the signal repair. Based on my 1.5 hour repair I was told, I rearranged work obligations to accommodate this time. 1.5 hours later I followed up on the car which they quoted would be another 45 minutes. Very unprofessional on their part and as a result on mine for now being extremely late to a work obligation. 45 minutes later when I expected to have my key handed over- I was offered a loaner car. Though i am glad the car is being fixed- and was very well taken care of by mike Clark- this continues to be a huge inconvenience. I will need to return to the location an hour away from me to get my car that I'm not even sure when will be ready to go. It was a huge purchase for me and my family, and we hoped the car was to last us ten years. How about 5 days! They registered the car 4 days after purchase, and two days later my radio stopped working (electrical). I made an appt. to have them fix it (free). Two days after that (5 days of driving)... DEAD. The car is DEAD. I took it to local auto store & had a diagnostics done. About 15 codes came up. Literally. 15 codes. I don't know much about cars, but things like 'cam shaft' 'Transmission Control' 'Fuel Pump' were confirmed...& even I know that is bad. There were also several codes that had 'history', which means the codes were previously recorded on the car. I called Bourne's and spoke to the mechanic Mike Clark. He told me he would he would fix the car. I told him my THIRTEEN THOUSAND car just died in 5 days & I didn't want it fixed, I wanted a refund. He insisted that is not how it works there, he'd have to fix it. The car was on the lot for sale for over a month. The certified mechanics evidently didn't see any problems or 'fixed it'. I took it to a real dealership (not an auto center) and paid for my own diagnostics to be done and see what the problem was. Within 15 minutes (again literally) 15 minutes, they came out and told me there was a huge problem with the car. I then called Bourne's and was told the manager was out of the office and would return in 2 hours & I got his voicemail. Two days later, no return call. I now had to hire a lawyer ($ I don't have) to try to give the car back and get my measly money back for my small cash deposit and trade in. I was told only to communicate via email to have everything on record, which I did. One day later - nothing. Nothing except 4 pages of problems listed from a real dealership. So in recap - I spent most of my money to put down a deposit, traded in my car and Financed a car for $13,000 that died in 5 days. As of this review, I am still waiting for any communication - even a note saying they have received my email - nothing. I guess the chase is on for a refund. I will update with the outcome. In the meantime my only recourse is reviews, BBB and Mass Consumer fraud. My wife and I are shaking our heads as to why they would do this to us and not stand behind their cars. Lastly, I expect Bourne's to reply with their side of things. 2 words for this place - FU*&ING JOKE!! I would give zero stars if I could. Called to inquire if a car was still available, spoke to someone who told me they would call me back. Received a call back 5 mins later from Amy who confirmed it was available and offered to make me an appt. I said we are 40 mins away and would come at 12:30pm (it was 11:35am). Got a text from her confirming the appt for the specific vehicle. We show up on time, wait about 15 mins, Torri (who was lovely) came over to help us, we sit at her desk and she can't locate the keys for the car. DING, DING DING. She asks for them and they say "oh that just sold"!!!!!!WHAT???!!!! WHAT???!!! So basically Amy lied about it being available and when I texted her back to question it, her reply was "I had no way of knowing someone was test driving when I called". SO WHY NOT TELL ME THAT, WHY LIE??? Then she proceeds to tell me she has been working from home since March 23rd??? WHAT???!!! Why do I care??? They sold me a car, of which came with a 90 day warranty (I've had it for 2 weeks). My battery died after one week. I had AAA jump and check the battery and they said there was nothing abnormal. The next day, battery died. AAA came back and rechecked. Nothing wrong. Next morning completely dead. I brought it to get serviced and my battery was smoking by the time I got there. I was told my battery was dangerous and needed replacement. I referred to the warranty only to find the battery excluded from the warranty. I had to pay over $350! Bourne Auto did not return any of my 4 phone calls regarding the warranty. Word of advice, bring your business elsewhere. 9 months later and the engine has failed. Bought a car recently . My conditions were that the breaks needed to be replaced since they were pulsating , the left stabilizer link needed to be replaced as there was a little play in the front end . That's all . Reasonable requests not to mention they are safety issues . I was assured by the saleswoman that of course it would be taken care as that is their protocol . I pick up car and as I'm on the way home I hear the stabilizer link rattling , and of course the braking is pulsating . The rotors were absolutely warped . I had to call and explain all this to them . I had to drive back an hour away to have it serviced . Complete waste of my time . I will save you all the details.... Short version: I purchased a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox in 2020. For the few months that I had it, it spent more time in the shop than I did driving it. 2 of the loaner cars I was given broke while I was driving them. My vehicle ended up needing a new transmission which was still covered under factory warranty. I experienced nothing but problems with this car and I ended up having them buy it back. I then purchased a 2017 Dodge Journey. It has been in and out of service for different issues, most covered by my extended warranty thankfully. But a series of lack of communication and inconsistencies with the service department has left me defeated and completely disgusted. I was charged about $400 to replace my rear sway bar links and bushings for a noise in the rear of my car. After the repair, the noise was still present. I tried emailing the service department to discuss and received no response. I ended up going to an ACTUAL Dodge dealership closer to my home and had them look at it. I was told I needed rear swar bar bushings.... Wait, what?!? I asked them to have the technician see if the sway bar links and bushings were ever replaced. They confirmed that the links were, but the bushings were old. I have the paperwork from Bournes stating that both the rear sway bar links AND bushings were replaced. I tried contacting the owner of Bournes multiple times regarding this issue and unsurprisingly have received NO RESPONSE. So now, if I want to have the bushings replaced in my car I have to pay for a repair AGAIN that was never performed in the first place..... I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever again.... read more

When we arrived we sensed bad energy but we continue to be optimistic that we will have a decent experience. When we finally walked into the sales room no one greeted us so we sat down and waited. They seemed to be going out there way to ignore us. So I asked a sales who didn't bother to even ask us if we were all set for the person (Kris) we had an appointment with and we were told he wasn't there today which was strange because I had just confirmed by text that we were on our way and he said ok. So while we waited two white women came in and they were immediately greeted and attended to while we just sat so that was the last strick and it was clear that because we are black they didn't want our business this is the most racist car dealership I've ever seen. This place does not, and has not ever stood behind their vehicles. I've had my own long standing car history with them. I vowed to never deal with them again and haven't. Unfortunately, my boyfriend has been a very dedicated and loyal customer for over 10 years, multiple vehicles purchased. He recently purchased a Jeep Cherokee from Bourne's (despite my warning) in August. As of October the vehicle was having issues not starting. Thinking it was just a jump needed, he called AAA. They came out and confirmed that the battery was not the issue. He continued to have to have random jumps making the vehicle less reliable. He brought the car to O'Reillys because it was going to take weeks to get an appointment with Bourne's. O'Reillys also confirmed it was not a battery issue. During this time we would be driving and the car would shut off, felt like the transmission would drop, and all lights on the dash turn on and flicker. Finally got an appointment with Bourne's, we asked for a rental car, but one was not available. So now he is paying for a rental car. We had the car towed for a Tuesday appointment early (Thursday evening). We didn't hear anything back until we called Tuesday afternoon and were met with 'yes, it's the battery, we looked at it Friday, however we can't do anything until Tony is back in' We were never contacted about this and had to reach out to find out, and yet the vehicle has been diagnosed 4 days prior. We made it very clear since a rental wasn't available to us we were going to be paying out of pocket and they still chose to sit on this information without consideration of us. Why did it take so long to communicate (and communicate something we already have been told is not the issue.) The complete disregard for communication to the customer is mind blowing. They then said the battery would take 3 days to come in, so we told them to order the battery but before anything was done we would like to speak to Tony when he returns to work, because we weren't satisfied with the answer of the issue being just the battery. (Keeping in mind we also could have got a battery from AAA, and not been out $1000) Fast forward 2 hours and a call is received that the battery has been installed. THERE WAS NEVER AUTHORIZATION TO INSTALL, THE BATTERY, JUST TO ORDER. Beyond all of this, why has the story changed from 'we can't do anything until Tony is in, to, we've replaced the battery'?? We feel like in more ways than one we were being given the run around. We have been nothing but proactive in communicating and being open with the fact we are concerned that this would come back as being found as just needing a new battery. The vehicle is unreliable and to be told we owe $300/$400 for the battery on top of the $700 for the rental, all for a vehicle that was purchased in August, had issues within the first 2 months, and now this level of customer service (all while the car is under warranty) is truly disheartening. We have spoken to multiple people (several with poor, almost accusatory tones) and they each just keep passing us on to the next person. This is the same experience and level of treatment I received from Bourne's years ago and while in the end they did SOMEWHAT rectify the situation with my vehicle, after I had already rebuilt the entire engine, this is history repeating itself. Not standing by their cars, or showing any care or consideration for customers. My partner had good faith that he was purchasing from a trustworthy dealership, and now he sees my concerns in not wanting to have gone there. We have zero faith that if something were to happen with this vehicle again we would be taken care of. We were offered a free oil change, which you also receive if they run 10 minutes behind on an appointment so that was really just salt in the wound. They just want to sell you a vehicle, send you on your way and never deal with you again whether the product they put out is good or not. Shame on this entire establishment read more

Problem after problem with Bourne's. My car couldn't even pass the initial Inspection. When I asked why they hadn't been more thorough in examining the car they sold me for defects I was told "well that wasn't us. We didn't do the inspection." When I asked who was responsible I was told "cars get inspected at the OTHER Bourne's facility. Not this one so it's not our problem" Other issues: 30 mins on hold w service shop EVERY TIME, I was never once given an update on my car I had to call them to get updates, refusal to take responsibility for the lemon car they sold me, the salesman texted me at 11 pm on Xmas day to ask me to give them a review. Just a shout out to Kim Bailey. Went car shopping with my daughter. Was dreading because we all know how car shopping can be but seriously was happy shopping at Bourne. Kim was super laidback and answered all of my daughters questions all the test drives and no pressure at all to buy a car. This was my first experience buying a car and I was apprehensive to say the least. I found my car on their site where it was listed for significantly less than similar cars at other dealerships. All of their staff was friendly and there was zero pressure. They didn't have any issues with the fact that I was using outside financing. Kim was wonderful to work with and they even took my car to the Mazda dealership to get a recall fixed before I picked it up. I wish i could leave negative Stars, but this is not possible. over the course of 10 years my family has stupidly kept going back here, buying 3 cars in the last 18 months alone. Sales is not the best but GOD FORBID you have to deal with service. They charge outrageous amounts of money to change silly things such as license plate bulbs. The bulb is $4 but they want to charge $90 to replace it and they swear it is aftermarket parts (yet this is a factory part) . They give you the run around every time and continue to keep said vehicles for multiple days at a time and not even inspect it when you make a specific appointment to inspect it for the day prior, but it's never looked at. We have brought the most current vehicle back 3 different times for an issue while pumping fuel and are told each time that there is nothing wrong and then what do you know ....CHECK ENGINE LIGHT due to an EVAP issue with the feul tank . This place is awful and if you do chouse to buy a vehicle from here, never use their service department . I could go on and on but i think you get the hint of the people youre dealing it .
