Mechanic failed inspection on my truck due to worn bushing on drivers side sway bar link. I disagreed, but I had no recourse to change inspection results, so I had them replace. This Shop then engaged in price gouging and has a very rude customer service from the male at the front desk. Details below. Timeline of replacement & reinispection: 9:03 Truck driven onto lift & raised for repair 9:16 Replacement complete & truck lowered (13 MINUTES TOTAL TO REPAIR) 9:28 Reinspection complete & drove truck out Here are the charges: $91.37 PART - (1) Sway bar link (Auto Zone & Advance each have that part for $37.99 & $41.99 respectively) $83.94 LABOR (Shop labor rate is $140 per hour. My repair took 13 minutes, or .2 hour, but they charged me 36 minutes, or .6 hour. I was charged triple the amount of labor than the repair required) $17.63 Shop consumables $3.57 Hazardous Materials $205.19 TOTAL including tax Upon conclusion of the repairs, I asked the male rep at the front desk about his labor rate. He raised his voice, was abrasive and dismissed my concern on what I was being charged for both labor and parts. I do not recommend this shop and warn others to stay away. read more

GOUGERS!!! Stay away! When the Honda dealership recommended two services for a total of $250, I thought a) they might be making it up, and b) it's got to be cheaper to go to a family-owned local garage. I dropped it at Auto Clinic at Longhill and told them I didn't know if the services were even needed, was told they would let me know. A few hours later I was notified they had done the work (without contacting me) and the total charge was $460. Plus they told me I needed new brakes, when the dealership had told me two weeks earlier the brakes were fine. Never again! read more

After a terrible experience with another local 'European Auto' mechanic in Williamsburg, I committed to finding a mechanic I loved... I found them! The Auto Clinic has been so wonderful to work with. Chuck, the owner, is great to work with, and the office staff are some of the sweetest people in the business. No reliable auto shop is cheap, but these guys are very fairly priced, and always willing to help. Chuck even let me buy some specialty parts I wanted and installed them for me. Many other places would insist they only install what they sell. I can't express how relieved I am to finally have a repair shop that I trust to take care of me and my family's vehicles. read more

This place was recommended to me by a tow truck driver when my car broke down on the way out of town. I'm so glad it was! Everyone I spoke to was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, particularly Marnie, who answered the phone every time I called. She took the time to explain everything to me and was patient in answering all my questions. She was even very empathetic when I told her the situation I was in (car had broken down on my way home and I was desperate to get back to NoVa ASAP for work.) She made sure to pass that info on to the mechanic (I think his name was Don, but now I'm seeing Chuck...maybe it was him? I'm not 100% sure--I'm terrible with names) who was AMAZING at his work and with his level of professionalism on the phone, and who may have finished the job faster than he otherwise might have since he knew of my situation. I really appreciated that. Marnie even called to follow up the next day and make sure I got back home okay! Honestly, when your car breaks down and you're pissed that you have to spend a bunch of money unexpectedly, it really helps to take your car to a place that at least makes the process as smooth and enjoyable as it could possibly be. Anyway, stop thinking about it and just take your car here from now on, ok? read more

I've had TAC working on my old VW Golf and have been delighted with the service and professionalism in getting is fixed the first time, and without ANY load on unneeded repairs that you see in the chain repair shops. Now that I have a new car, almost out of warranty, I plan to use TAC. I just bought a new trailer hitch, and in delivery it was BENT! The folks at TAC didn't charge me anything, photographed the damaged hitch (it was hard to see), loaded it back in my RAV4. I returned the hitch, got a replacement from etrailer. com and will take the replacement back to TAC for installation. Never had one instance of anything gone wrong. Reasonable reasonable prices. Fixed right, estimates are accurate, no surprises! Now that is a real MECHANIC SHOP! read more

This auto shop is a rare gem. The people are friendly and kind (rare during COVID) and simply great service! I found this shop when I desperately needed an inspection so I could get on post, they worked me in right away, and had my truck ready to go ASAP. They treated me like family when I walked in so I'll be taking both mine and my wife's vehicles back in the future and referring friends here from now on. read more

After bringing in to have a.c. fixed, started overheating couple days later. Owner advised to add water (which fixed it) but also that if I overheated again, call him and he would come get me and vehicle. Customer service like that is hard to find. Update: brought back in. A local car wash damaged a side view mirror on my car the day before a vacation and they sent me to this shop to have it replaced at no charge to me. Figured it can be ordered and delivered while I'm gone and I'd come by my first day back and be done with it. They didn't claim to order the part for almost 5 days. Over 3 weeks and no updates even when they said they'd update me the day before, meanwhile I'm driving my virtually brand new car with a busted mirror and having to wrap it when it rains making me not have another mirror and look like a horses ass driving around with bags around my mirror just to keep the electric connections dry. I was able to order the OEM part (mon) and it is to be delivered tomorrow (thurs) and yet they couldn't do that in over 3 weeks. I called and told them to just forget about it. Respectful in person and on the phone but I'll never go there again or refer anyone to there. read more
