So, while on vacation, we got a flat tire. I called them to see if they could check to see if they could fix the tire. The guy said "yep, bring it on by!". I was staying just down the road. I drove over, and as soon as I walked through the door. The manager tells a worker to check my tire. Within 7 minutes they figured out what was wrong. Hole in sidewall, so they couldn't safely repair it which I know sidewall punctures cannot be safely repaired. They didn't charge me anything and I was very grateful for how willing they were to help me in a pinch. read more

This place is great. Walley is awesome and so fair. The prices are the prices from Goodyear but he will let you know what's best for your car and what's not. While I was there an older lady came in thinking she needed a lot of work done and he assured her there was no need to spend the amount of money she was preparing to. They took great care of my car and recommended I change the air filter but also recommended that me doing it for myself would be easy and save me money. I would send my daughter here. They were great and will have my future business. read more

We had just checked out of our resort and were on our way home 6 hours away when we noticed we had a nail in our tire. Sadly the nail was in a spot that could not be patched. (I think that had something to do with my husband taking turns at 100 mph) The manager drove 2 hours round trip to pick up tires that would fit our car. No other shop would have gone out of their way for us like this shop did. So thankful for everything they did for us. read more

This horrible place of business is in the market to do one thing, and that's take your money with as little work done as possible. From the lack of customer service to the shady explanation of what needed to be done, let it be known I will never go back. I went in for a state inspection, they told me I needed my lower arm bars replaced. They were going to charge me close to $1000 to do it. I wanted a second opinion and low and behold, I did not need to fix it. I passed with flying colors at the next place I went. Avoid at all costs! The inside is spacious and clean. But that's where my praise of this place ends. I'm still here waiting for a state inspection I was told would be done in two hours. I'm pushing three now. The staff isn't unpleasant, but i wouldn't want to hang out with them. They speak to you as if you being there is mildly bothersome. I understand that the manager was working on a barebones staff and was on the phone begging an employee to come in to work. But really how long does it take to inspect a car? The place I go to in northern Virginia has it done in 20-30 minutes. They can tell I'm upset and refuse to make eye contact with me. Good thing today is my day off. And thank god there is food and shopping across the street. Next time my inspection is due I will probably just buy a new car. It has to be less infuriating then this Goodyear. read more

While it is concerning to see all of these negative reviews - I certainly did not have any of these issues. I worked mostly with John and Victor. Initially, I had a slow leak patched for free on promotion, and I paid nothing that day. As the tires were old on the car, I figured I would get a quote from them as well. I shopped around, and their warranty and price was definitely the best I saw. It did take a while to get the new tires on, but nothing awful. When putting on the tires, Victor noticed that the seals on my front struts had worn, and that the hydraulic fluid leaked all over the chassis and brakes. He very clearly and professionally explained the issue to me, while the car was lifted, and showed me where the leaks were as well. He also pointed out a leak on the radiator. They certainly didn't coerce me to do the repairs there: They told me to go to the shop where I had the radiator done, as it was under warranty, and to a dealer for the struts. They did provide a quote for the brakes in case I wanted to do them there. Basically, they did the opposite of these reviews: They gave me clear information presented in a professional way and worked with me to find the best solution for myself (and my wallet). Overall, I was pleased with their service and communication, especially with those two staff members. read more

Had a suspension part to replace to pass inspection. Normally I'd do this myself, but didn't have time. Part price markup was 500% compared to Amazon. Gouging customers on replacement parts. Took car in for inspection. They wanted $40 to replace a tail light bulb. Said I'd replace it myself. Brought car home and now check engine light was on. I know how to read codes and code said gas cap was loose. Seemed pretty fishy that gas cap was loose after refusing to overpay for a bulb replacement. read more

This has been the one of the worst experiences I've ever dealt with at an auto service. I dropped my car off at 9am and was told it will only take 2-3 hours (which is a long time for an inspection) and it ended up taking 6.5 hours. I had to call them to follow up and they later called back and failed my 2014 car because the headlights needed alignment. Rather than a warning or a courtesy fix they decided to charge me $49 for this. I'm a returning customer, you would think they would help you out but clearly customer service is not a priority. I highly recommend going ANYWHERE but here for anything you need done on your car! Unless you want to wait 6+ hours for something simple. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! My wife and son were on vacation and the car died. Towed to this place based on proximity. $452 to repair things that were not related to the problem. They installed new battery, replaced valve cover gasket, and serpentine belt for alternator, claiming oil leak from valve cover gasket resulted in oil getting on serpentine belt cause alternator not to charge the battery.. Car is home, died again less than 5 days later, neighbor and I actually DIAGNOSED the problem to find out there is a small but consistent draw slowly draining the battery. Charged me $12 to put a corrosive resistance spray on my battery terminals, WHAT A RIP OFF!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! I WILL be fighting to get my money back!! UPDATE: The draw on my battery ended up being a bad starter, a starter which I was told was tested! My neighbor, whose a mechanic of 30 years, said there was no way that the starter was tested. We will be fighting the charge as the "repairs" were completely unnecessary. I was not with the car when it died, my wife and son were on vacation in Williamsburg. This shop preyed on her situation, I at first told them not to replace the valve cover gasket, to which they HIGHLY recommended replacing because of their "diagnosis" I will be taking every legal action necessary to fight these charges because there was clearly no way that they checked my started. RUN FROM THIS PLACE! Went to this place 20 years ago & was not pleased at all. Went back ( thinking they had changed ), because I had a tire problem & needed tires right away. I ordered 4 tires made appointment the next morning. They did a switch on me & had higher priced tires. Then it was taking so long they came out & said I needed all this front end work done. Since I have a regular auto shop that works on my car & they had just inspected it. I told them to not do the work. Took the car & paperwork to my auto shop & they said the work did not need to be done. Funny is the Goodyear Place across town does not have this problem. read more

**SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY, SUPPORT OTHER BUSINESS** Went in to get the oil changed and the tires aligned. After being told it would take three hours they called back saying that they didn't have time for it and that I could pick up the car the next day. Thankfully, it was the weekend and so there weren't any conflicts with getting to work. They also called to let me know that the alignment would be $290 (rather than what is normally priced at $90) because a rear lateral link would cost $183 (google it and you'll find the price is from $65-75). I told them to cancel the alignment and that I'd pick up the car in the morning. Picked up the car and realized on the way back to the house that they'd charged me twice for a oil filter disposal fee. Honestly, a minimal fee, but just another indication of these guys being crooks. read more

My wife brought her car here for an inspection. Being that we both work M-F she had to take her car in on a Saturday, I know we knew it would be a tall order to get complete but she was told it would be done by 5. We got a call around 4 saying it didn't pass because her wheel lock key couldn't be found, she was never told she would need the key which was in the center console and we had to return on Monday with the key in hand to complete. When we went to pick up the car by 4:30 to to see if we could give the key the "manager" said the guy who does the inspection had already left even though he was supposed to be there until 5. The manager did nothing to smooth over the situation talking over me and never offering an apology for their mistake. If we had any other option to take her car to get re-inspected we would have but I assure you nothing could ever happen to convince me or my wife to return in the future. Horrible service. read more

Another employee says the inspector will be here the morning of next day. I go there the next day at 10. The inspector is sick and isn't here.The inspector must be working 2 hours a day. I'm really sorry that this shop has so many negative reviews. I don't doubt that a busy shop gets behind all too often, and that's really frustrating. Even so, there's a lot of good here. I first started taking my car to this location over 25 years ago. Since he took the helm as manager, David Held has always done his utmost to ensure the best possible customer experience for me; and so has John. I'll never forget the time the staff screwed up (hey, it happens) and David owned up to what happened, pulled his entire staff together (presumably to make sure they understood what had gone wrong and solutions), and by the time I got my car back it had a full tank of gas too. So long as David is at this location, I'll stand by my 5-star review. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!!!! I took my girlfriends 1998 toyota camry in because of bad vibrations when going over 60 ( a sure indicator the tires have become unbalanced among a few others). So we made an appointment, Told the rep over the phone what we wanted inspected and what we wanted done. WITHOUT EVEN MOVING THE CAR OUT OF THE PLACE WE PARKED IT, their salesman called me attempting to sell me 4 new tires as the solution. They had not even put the car on a lift, moved it, test drove it, NOTHING. I challenged his solution, he became aggressive, so i recorded the call. His solution was 415$ for 4 of the worst off brand tires they had in stock. The only reason we even went here is because Eagle Eye Automotive is closed on the weekends, and we were trying to have this fixed to make a trip up to my girlfriends parents house for easter. Corey asked me when i challenged his solution, Sir are you a technician? I said no i have 2 ASE's but never finished school, and i would do it myself but i dont have the tools, then i asked are YOU a technician? his response, NO. WOW hahah. he said in his 20 years his integrity had never been questioned. I sent all the audio files to the corporate manager of goodyears for this part of the country, took the car to eagle this morning, and had my rack adjusted for 50 bucks. problem solved. I used to have nothing but good things to say about this place but my last 2 experiences there have not been good at all. We needed a new oil pan for our car because something happened and the plug was stripped. Their price estimate was $500. We had them do it and when it was finished the bill came to $791. Our mistake was not getting the original in writing. So today we found out that our rear brakes were bad and one of the rotors. We went in and asked for an estimate what it would cost. It was $755 which seemed really out of line to me. So we called the Honda dealer here in town and asked for their price for the same job plus all the extras of changing all the fluids inspecting everything was less than $500. Needless to say we got Honda to do it I am very very disappointed in this Goodyear store. We got our tires from them and we've always dealt with them for inspections a d everything but this is the last time that we will be going there. Just very disappointed in them. read more

Went for a car inspection. I got a rejection sticker. That is not what this bad review is about. After they told me they didn't pass my vehicle they had a whole invoice and for $400 could fix up my car. The only two things that didn't let it pass where brakes and brake lights. I spent $70 and did it myself. The outrageous prices they charge are crazy. But then, and this is where my one star comes from...I went back after the repairs were made. They turned me away that night. It's in the VA code that rejected vehicles take precedence over other inspections. So I'm angry they tossed me aside and broke the law. The next day they gave me grief too. He inspector that did the initial inspection wasn't there and they acted like it was a big thing and almost asked me to come back AGAIN! Now that my sticker is on I'll never go back. I also saw a very distinct way they treated the men better than the women who came in. I know that you hear that is common in places, but I've never experienced that until this time. read more

No ticket or anything, officer just wanted to let me know. I was annoyed at having to get the car serviced, but I was due for an oil change anyway, so it wasn't really an inconvenience. I leave the car with them for an evening, come get it the next day. Turns out they couldn't change out my headlight. The headlight had gone out because the wire harness was shorting. They couldn't replace either part because the wire harness was a dealership-only part, and there was no sense in putting in a new lightbulb that would just go out again. Annoying, but I understood. I paid my $120 and went on my way. Not long after, I started hearing scraping sounds whenever I started to go up or down an incline or decline. I'd find out later that there's a little protective plate on the underside of the oil pan secured with two bolts. Evidently the folks at Goodyear did not properly secure this plate. A month after visiting Goodyear I finally get the spare cash and time together to take it to the dealership. The folks at the dealership replace the wire harness and light bulb as I expected, but they treated me to some very bad news: the headlight assembly was broken. The headlight couldn't be aimed properly, and it was unlikely that the vehicle was going to pass state inspection. Since I didn't have $700+ to drop on those repairs right then and there, I thanked them for letting me know and went on my way. So of course I fail state inspection with flying colors months later. Thankfully I'd read up on some basic car maintenance and was able to take care of the issue myself for less than $100. Seriously, don't go here. I mean, unless you're in the habit of paying people for the privilege of committing destruction of property on your own car, then by all means, y'know, go ahead. I was gonna give them two stars, seeing how they properly changed the oil. But the other day, as I was replacing the headlight assembly, it turns out the dipstick tube was broken near the base. Didn't notice it this whole time because it was secured toward the top, and they didn't tell me about it. Pretty sneaky, Goodyear. read more

I went in to get an estimate for why my check engine light was on. They charged me $100 just to hook my car up to their computer and get the codes read! Nothing was fixed or work done on it but I was told it took 2 hours for the estimate and that's what I was paying for. All other places I've taken my car to have done estimates for free! I would be very careful at this location. They are not very honest about what is wrong with your car. They told me I needed this $150+ part and I had a feeling I should decline and go elsewhere. Took my 2015 camaro here with only 2,000 miles on it to get a flat repair. As I was walking away from dropping the car off the service writer says if we can fix it. Later they call me to tell me the tire is not repairable and I will need a new tire. This struck me as odd seeing as the tires on the car are 14" wide. So I decided to take it back to the Chevrolet dealer on 2nd street they showed me that the hole in the tire was in the middle of the tread so they patched it for 20.00 vs the several hundred dollars these crooks wanted. I would just say tourist and local alike be warned these people aren't honest! read more

This "Service" center was lousy 10 years ago and they have done an admirable job of maintaining a "1 Star" operation until this day. Overall friendliness, competitive pricing and mechanical competency are all sub-par. I'd hate to think what they'd do to a vacationing family who had an emergency with their vehicle. My recommendation: Stay away and locate a locally owned/operated business to support. My top choice is Howard Motors but I know there are a couple others who will take good care of you. read more

My car inspection expired I needed an oil change, and it was the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. I called just about every service center in Williamsburg, all told me they were either booked or closing early. I called this Goodyear and they said that they could take me but it would be awhile before they could get to me because they were pretty packed. I got there and both of the guys behind the counter were SUPER NICE and very helpful! I dropped my car off around noon and they told me it would be around 4pm, but that they would call if it was done any sooner. Considering it was Saturday of Labor Day weekend and they amount of cars in the lot, I was pretty impressed. Any hour later I get a phone call, expecting them to tell me my car was failing inspection or something, NOPE, they were calling to tell me my car WAS READY!! I was seriously floored! I have recommended them to lots of people after this great experience and will continue to! read more

Twice now we have dealt with the Goodyear Tire in Williamsburg, on both occasions they have done extra work without authorization. This last time they called to tell us the extra work needed to be done and after saying we would be right down to see the necessary repair changes we were told they already did the work. We don't feel this is a proper business practice, their quailty appears to be good but they way they conduct themselves is not good at all. read more

Made an appointment for an oil change on Goodyear website, was required to put in specific information about my car make and model, and received an email confirmation that the total cost would be $21.45, including details of the vehicle I entered. I canceled appointments at work so I could leave the vehicle at Goodyear all day. First thing in the morning, we went to Goodyear, only to be told that my vehicle doesn't accept the type of oil advertised in this special and the actual cost will be $36.00!!!!! The manager Kevin seemed to think it was perfectly reasonable that I was able to get completely through the appointment making process only to be given a completely different price in the store, telling me that the website isn't made that way! read more
