This review is going to be long, but I don't think it's right to leave a bad review without explaining why and there's a lot that went into this experience over the past 6 weeks.
On 9/1, I had my car towed to this shop after an accident, and on 9/7 I was given an estimate and told that my car would be ready 9/28. It was cutting it close with the rental coverage (my insurance policy only covers 30 days), but I received multiple updates along the way, letting me know everything was on track for my car to be picked up on 9/28.
On the morning of 9/28, I was informed that they would need my car another week because they had not received the parts necessary for the repairs. This is completely understandable with so many things being on backorder, and I greatly appreciate them covering the rental cost that my insurance wouldn't, but I'm still not sure how no one realized this would be an issue until the day I was expecting to pick up my car.
I received two texts over the course of the next week to inform me that my car would be ready to pick up 10/5, but then was texted in the afternoon on 10/5 that they would need an additional day with my vehicle to finish the repairs because the glass company (I thought this shop did glass by the name of it?) was coming the next day to put a window back in. Again, not sure how no one knew this would be an issue before.
I was going out of town for a few days, informed the shop of this, and was told that my car would definitely be ready for pick up on 10/6. There was no uncertainty in the text, as you can see in the attached screenshots. This was, yet again, canceled the day of. This time it was because of issues with how the door was aligned with the frame of the vehicle. I am very pleased that they took pride in their work and didn't send my car back to me like that, but this set off alarm bells in my head. Did they not know, or did they not tell me?
With all that said, I was growing increasingly concerned about the state of my car. I felt I couldn't trust this shop to be honest about what was going on with my vehicle. So, I stopped by. I regret not getting a picture of it, but my car was still missing a window and the door didn't align with the car at all.
10/12 I was finally able to pick up my car. I left the shop around 3pm. Shortly before 5pm, I got a flat tire. They sent my car out the door with a tire that had a hole in it without so much as mentioning it. I took my car back to the shop and Ed explained that the wear and tear on the tire made it unsafe to fix, and the car would need new tires. While I understand this, I cannot understand the lack of communication about anything from this shop. I spent most of a month and a half completely in the dark about what was going on with my car and I still don't have any idea what caused all the delays. I can understand and forgive one breakdown in communication, we are all human. This was multiple, and never once was it acknowledged in any way by the people working here.
I am leaving two stars because the work did eventually get done, but it never in a million years should have been this stressful, frustrating, or covert. I won't be going back here and I cannot recommend anyone else to go here. read more
