I had no problem finding the place- the building is right off of Transit Rd, literally. There is no driveway- you just pull right off the road and you're in the parking lot! I was the only one there at the time. They took my car back right away as I sat in the waiting area. It's a nice, clean area with comfy chairs, lots of magazines, and even a few childrens books. There is a TV and remote but I chose not to turn it on. Before I knew it, my car was finished, I paid at the counter, and was on my way! All-in-all a very pleasant experience. I will definitely go back again for my next inspection and will recommend this business to others.

It needed brakes, a ball joint, and the tires were right at the limit. Considering the car now had almost 80k I ordered new front brakes, calipers, and rotors. I went to install the parts and that's when it began. I was able to remove 4 of the 5 lug nuts by hand, and by hand, I mean with nothing but a socket and my hand, I didn't even need a rachet! The fifth came off without a single impact from the air gun, it spun right off. I was upset, but I figured everyone makes mistakes, and luckily, nothing happened. I took the car back for reinspection and to have the new front tires put on. After cashing out, I just felt I had to at least tell the shop owner what happened. I wasn't mad but it did bother me that it happened because my wife drives my 6yo daughter around in that vehicle. I expected an apology and for them to bring it to the technician's attention, after all, it could have been a serious situation. Well, this was not what happened. The owner first told me they do not remove a wheel during an inspection. Unfortunately, this upset me even more because that meant that the vehicle my wife drives my daughter around in was in an unsafe condition for a lot longer than a couple weeks. To top it off the vehicle had only been serviced at South Niagara for at least the prior two years so it was still on them. It also meant they did not perform the inspection to NYS standards which require that at least 1 front wheel be removed during an NYS Inspection. I brought both these points to their attention and the owner had the technician who inspected the vehicle come up front and tell me that they do need to remove a wheel for the inspection. I pulled up the New York State Inspection guidelines stating the requirement and they would not read them and continued to deny that a wheel needed to be removed for NYS Inspection. I was livid and upset. Not only did they put my daughter's life in danger they would not even recognize what was written in NYS inspection law and tried to deny the whole thing.

Last Wednesday, while preparing a return trip to New Hampshire from the Buffalo area my…read moretransmission fluid started leaking. I immediately reached out to the West Herr Nissan dealership at 4:30. After waiting an hour for a return call, I placed a second call. The service manager instructed me not to drive, and to have the vehicle towed to their dealership. The service manager then stated that they would not be able to look at my vehicle until Friday or Monday. My choices, a 15-hour bus ride home, a one-way car rental, or an extended stay at a hotel with no transportation until they figured it out. John at Lamarco's Auto Service, an extremely kind gentleman, put me in contact with Chuck at Transmission Exchange. Upon my arrival, my car was immediately put on a lift and the issue identified as a rotted transmission hose. During my wait, Chuck did everything in his power to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I was even invited to join the crew for lunch! Transmission Exchange diagnosed the issue, completed the repair and I was on the road within a couple of hours. After my negative experience with West Herr, I had given up on receiving any kind compassion regarding my circumstances. A big thanks to Chuck, Mom & the crew for restoring my faith in the humanity. When i first went there Chuck was very nice and friendly. called me back within a couple hours to let me know that my transmission needed to be rebuilt. He said it would take a few days. My vehicle ended up being there for 9 days before i got it back from the transmission rebuilt!!! when i got it back, immediately i knew something was wrong so took it back and spoke with Joe. Joe claims he drive it around and also had the owner Chuck drive it and both said it drives perfectly. Another week goes by and i take it back because its definately not driving perfectly as they said it was. Now this time Joe said oh yea i feel what youre talking about i think its the motor mounts but we dont fix that here we only do transmission work so youll have to take it to a general shop. Immediately i took it to another shop and within 10 minutes they found that one of the engine mounts was left loose and the bracket was damaged! This was NOT an issued before i took my car to Transmission Exchange and the fact that they refuse to help me now that they got their money is unbelievable!!! I will never go there again nor recommend anyone to trust these people with their vehicle. DONT DO IT!!!
