They are first come first served but make it a point to work with you to get your car seen and fixed for an extremely reasonable price. The owner Mark is always trying to sell you a service you don't need. I asked for a oil leak repair, but was told to replace the timing belt for $1000 while at it. I refused. Mark put on the timing belt backwards during re-assembly. Noises were coming out of the engine. I went back a second time. Lots of time wasted. Over the years, I dumped a few thousand into the shop. Awesome place! I brought my car in around 8am and was able to get it back by 4pm the same day. My car had some screeching and rattling sounds coming from the engine so I brought it in. Mark was very thorough about checking my car. He called after the first drive with what he figured out was the problem and gave me an estimate. He took it for another drive to check other issues and also called me to describe what was wrong. This small and low key garage is located in West Windsor close to the Princeton Junction Train Station on 571/Princeton-Hightstown Road (the road from US1 through Hightstown to NJ TP Exit 8). Personally, I have always found them to be honest, fast, and very affordable (esp. considering the area). Worth driving from Princeton to get service here. This is an independent review. This is a great local shop to get your car repaired. I have been dealing with Mark for years. Often times I source my parts on Amazon.com or on a parts warehouse online and bring my parts to Mark. He really saves me tons of money and his work is great. He is an honest mechanic and that can be really hard to come by. They give me a quick call if they notice anything that I should do, and they help me keep my 2002 BMW in great shape. If you live in the area and are looking for a great shop this is the place. The thing I really appreciate is that if you need something specialized done and they do not do that or do not have the machinery they let you know. Most small shops might not turn down the business and try to experiment on your dime. Not Mark and his crew. They are good people and I will continue to take all of my cars here. I would also like to note that they specialize in older Euro cars and for those hard to fix problems they are experts. I have taken a US car and a Euro car here and they have never done me wrong. I had an amazing experience at Cordero's Auto Repair! The staff is extremely honest -- encouraging me to go get my emissions checked again at the DMV before they did anything because my engine light was off, even though they could have done tons of tests first and charged me to replace the parts for any code that had come up before. After passing my emissions test, they did an oil change for me and fixed my rear breaks (which I had known before hand needed to be fixed) all for a reasonable price. The staff is extremely nice (even giving me a ride home from the mechanic and picking me up when my car was ready). The service was extremely fast. Awesome, honest and pleasant mechanic who proactively saved me hundreds of dollars. I spoke with Mark a number of times about bringing in my car. Wasn't able to find the time to bring it in the first few times, but he was always super patient about scheduling an appointment. I had a rumbling noise coming from my wheels. I thought I would have to pay roughly $1000 to fix both front wheels. Mark inspected and fixed the left one first since it was the worse of the two and wanted to retest to see if the right one would be OK and we could save me the additional $500~ on that wheel. Turned out that just the left wheel needed fixing for now and he said I could bring it back in at a later date if the right one started making more noise. Got my car back the same day. read more

THEY PUT ME BACK ON THE ROAD WITH A CAR READY TO CRASH I came in to have my recently-bought secondhand car looked at. I knew one wheel had issues, as well as the front suspension. After looking at the car, Cordero's came back with a pretty great deal. They went to replace the front struts and springs completely, and went looking for a replacement wheel. Unfortunately, their supplier delivered the wrong wheel, and with the Holidays around the corner they wanted to get me back on the road. There was a crack in the alloy wheel, and a welder whom they brought in mentioned that he could fix it. So, after getting my approval, they went ahead and repaired the wheel with a weld. Because of the complication with the wheel, they offered to charge only a fraction of the labor cost they put in to the wheel, which was wonderful! However, Cordero's had mentioned that the weld was an epoxy weld, which is only very temporary, so four days later I went by another mechanic to see if they could give me a more permanent solution. They mentioned the wheel wonderfully repaired, very much a temporary solution indeed, but as good as can get given the circumstances. BUT. They also mentioned that the suspension system was in a terrible shape still. Sure, the new struts looked great, but in its current state the car was dangerous to be drive in at all. This mechanic was shocked that Cordero's had overlooked that the control arms were so rusted that they were pretty much falling off, and that several bushings were completely shot. First, I was angry because I had explicitly asked Cordero's to give the car a check up and look for anything that needed work, and they responded by telling me that, besides the struts, the car was in "great shape". The mechanics at Cordero's may have simply not looked, I thought... Yet, then, my new mechanic told me that, when replacing the struts, Cordero's mechanics performed work within mere inches of the broken control arms. They must've noticed, and yet didn't mention anything about this issue which made the car "actively unsafe to drive" according to my new mechanic. Two reason's why I am giving it a one star review: 1. I am left with enormous costs. Cordero's charged me $1120. A good deal in itself, but I asked for my car to be "repaired." And I'm looking at another $2000 in costs... I would've never agreed to have my car serviced at all, as it's simply not worth that kind of money. But now, all of the work that Cordero's has done are sunk cost. This is exactly why I asked Cordero's to give it a check up first! 2. Cordero's sent me back on the road with a car which was "actively unsafe," without any warning, even though Cordero's must've known that the car was in terrible condition. Had I not gone to a different mechanic, who spotted the issue even though I hadn't even asked for a check up, I may have driven this car whose control arm was ready to fail. I would've crashed. My new mechanic, I know can be trusted, as he maintains 15-25 year old cars of my closest friends; and because they showed me the control arms which are falling off... read more

Cordero's Auto is a wonderful place to take your car! We've been with Mr. Cordero for years even before he bought the company. It all started in high school when I would frequently bring my Saturn in as it needed constant repairing being that it is 23 years old. His daughter was a classmate and told me her father fixed cars so I told my dad and we went down to talk to him. We also have a Honda Civic Hybrid 2010, and a 2003 Element. Cordero's Auto (formerly Le Auto) has the same staff as before and they are extremely well equipped and educated across the board. The employees are kind hearted, respectful, and I am always welcomed with a warm smile and pleasant conversation. With Cordero's Auto it's always a personable environment and if you read my other Yelp or Google reviews I don't hold back if there is something off (as I believe constructive criticism is one of the best forms to encourage improvement). Before Mr. Cordero bought the company- Le Auto was great with the work they did but the place always seemed like a mess. Starting with the front desk room. It seemed like the owner used that room for storage and the employees had to work around all the stuff in there. There was no place to sit and wait so you needed to find a ride to leave if you dropped your car off. I reside 2 mins up the road still on Washington Road so for me I could always walk home and it was not trouble- but for someone else I could see it being inconvenient if they lived further away. Lastly, to keep it brief, the parking lot was difficult to maneuver if you were just dropping your car off. HOWEVER-since this place changed ownership Mr. Cordero has already done amazing things to the place. To start off, this place is not clean and well organized with a nice waiting room, comfortable seating, and a television is even provided. The front office is much cleaner and more organized than the last owner kept it. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of and the back lot appears more organized. Finally, the service is top notch. I personally have never been to a place more honest than these guys. Every other place I've ever went has told me and my family we needed parts replaced that were actually fine. But not Cordero's Auto. These guys will give you a quick estimate and it's always been accurate. They have always managed to get me in even on short notice when I have an emergency. They are fast too so you will have your car back to you in no time- usually same day unless you need parts ordered. Then maybe 1-2 days, and my car has never ran smoother. I would NEVER take my car anywhere else and neither would my family. Even if I bought a brand new car from Honda I'd ditch the dealers and come straight here. I'm always satisfied and I could never place my trust in another mechanics hands again. read more

Beware!! These guys are looters. They rip you off if you go with any luxury vehicles for repair. I went there to have brake pads and rotors replaced on my Benz. The bill came out to about $1800. When I looked up the part costs based on the part numbers, even the expensive part supplier's price in this area is less than half the charges they charged me. The parts should have been just $530, but instead they charged me $1277. These guys skim any naive looking luxury vehicle driving people into every penny they can squeeze. When I talked to Mark, the owner after I verified the prices, he mentioned that they charge a premium of 20% markup on the parts and they just use these charges on top of what ever the part supplier he uses charges. Sounds very convenient to rip one off. Be warned, save your money and visit any other place.. read more

I brought my car in for a oil change and tune up, and they told me that a tune up was not necessary. They were not out to charge me for work that was not necessary. Getting into an accident is not fun. When in that situation, you want to have a mechanic who is timely, professional, and wants to genuinely do a good job. Mark and his shop do exactly this. They want to help you make your car back into the way it was. I hit a deer the Saturday night before Thanksgiving, and brought my car in for repairs on that Tuesday.
