We were referred to Capitol Autobody by the insurance company after someone hit the passenger side of our truck. We scheduled to have the work done and dropped it off. When my husband got the call that it was done, he was told then that they only except cashier's checks, so he had to leave work early to go get that before picking up the truck. After we got it home and had a chance to look it over, my husband noticed that the front door was a little higher than the back door. He also couldn't open the back door with the exterior handle. He had to reach inside and use the inside handle to get it open. We also noticed that they did not replace the weather stripping that somehow got damaged. My husband called Capitol A.B., and they told him to bring it back and they would take care of it. Due to our schedules, we had to wait till Friday to take it back. Before we took it in, we noticed a window switch in the cup holder, but we assumed it was one they replaced and forgot to throw away. After further investigation we discovered that it had been removed from the back driver's side door. They had no reason to be working on the driver's side since all the damage was on the passenger side. So why this was removed in the first place, and not put back is a mystery. We also found a plastic piece sitting on the back seat. After more searching, we discovered it was the piece that goes on the door frame for the back door. They just left it off and left it in the seat. When we dropped it off, we showed them all 5 issues, and they said they would take care of it. Once Monday afternoon rolled around, my husband got a voicemail that the truck was done and that we owed $257.92 for the weather stripping. Needless to say; that did not make us happy that we had to pay more because they screwed up. It would not be such a big deal if it was just one thing wrong, but there were 5 things that needed to be corrected. Keep in mind that we did not have a truck or a rental vehicle when we had to take it back to Capitol A.B. for their lack of quality control. Someone from their shop should have checked to make sure everything was done correctly and put back together before sending it out the door with the customer. After this experience, I would not recommend Capitol Autobody to anyone and will be reaching out to the insurance company to let them know about our experience, so they reconsider recommending Capitol Autobody to their clients. read more

My daughter had an accident on her Subaru crosstrek in October. she took the car to 3 different companies in Boise ( all recommended by state farm ). We were going to have Capitol do the repairs over thanksgiving break, but when the college went online till after the new year we delay until January I made all of the arrangements with Tyler, he reviewed the bids and placed order for the parts ned for repair. So when I dropped of the car on 1/8 Tyler had most if not all of the parts need for the repairs. This allowed them to finish the repairs in 5 days instead of 8-12 days . MY daughter picked up the car on 1/15 and it looks great. Overall great experience, great staff to work with and I highly recommend them for auto body work you might need. read more

We hit a deer driving home from Boise . My insurance recommend Capitol to fix. The reviews looked like it was a good shop so I let them fix my Subaru . The told me it would be ready in four weeks and that I would be updated as my car nears completion . I should of realized when they didn't update me that there would be problems. They didn't have car ready on compilation date . The told me that they had to get it checked at the dealer because it was giving faulted codes. I thought they were doing good by going to the dealership to get checked. I was wrong.. So a week later I get my car back. It looked good. Paint matched, my Subaru looked like it did before the deer. So I head back to Idaho falls. That's when I notice that my car wasn't back to pre wreck condition. My air conditioner wasn't cold anymore. And at hi way speeds the car would shake worse the faster I went. I had a 200 mile drive home thinking they didn't fix my car correctly. Back home the car is currently in another shop to replace the ac that Capitol didn't correctly fix. The didn't check the alignment after the wreck and had a bent strut. So I'm another 3weeks without my car due to the poor job from Capitol . I gave them the 2 star due to the paint and body work looking good. But I really wouldn't recommend anyone using this company if the damage to your ca or truck is any more than cosmetic. read more

I was involved in a head on collision while traveling to work one winter morning. Most of the front end of the car sustained severe damage. It looked like a complete loss. The staff at Capitol Auto Body disassembled the car to get a good look at the overall damage. They had a estimate completed in no time and went into great depth explaining as to what the damages were. After speaking with them I felt confident they could save my new car. The repairs took less time than expected and to this day I haven't had any problems with anything. You cant even tell it was ever wrecked. And I must say the staff were above and beyond. This review is about a year late but I still really wanted to post it. I had to have some extensive repair work done to my car due to deep scratches along the side and some bumper damage. Capital Auto Body was the least expensive quote I got and did a really excellent job. After I got the car home I noticed a paint run on the bumper and I was told to bring it in when I had a chance and they would fix it. Due to life getting crazy, I wasn't able to bring it in for quite a few months. When I called I got an appointment right away and there were no questions or push back. They fixed it perfectly and even replaced a small mirror that had fallen off my side mirror without me asking.
