I had some work done at another shop, who then had to tow my car to Tonkin Mazda to have some programming done to the new BCM. What a headache. Tonkin had my car 65 days, and was unable to get the car running. They waved the white flag. After a week or so, Auto Firm's team found a fuse issue that kept the car from being able to communicate. I was getting ready to leave town for a wedding. I was doing some last minute things on a Saturday. When I got home, my F-250 was leaking radiator fluid and water all over my driveway. First thing Monday morning I called NW Auto Firm told them the problem, what my situation was. They said to bring it in as soon as I could and they would let me know a diagnosis. They called later on that day. They said not only was it my radiator but was also the water pump and thermostat. They would try to get it done as quick as possible and hopefully we would be able to attend the wedding. Friday morning they called and said it looked like they were going to be able to finish the truck and have us on the road. They called about 1:00 let us know they were going to test drive it. About 1:30 they called back said everything looked great. We didn't shop around or call other shops . We had used this auto shop one time before and they treated us fair and did the work in a timely manner. This time was no different. I went in because I was having starting issues. I brought in my car towards the end of the day. They took it, looked at, and go back to me within a day. Come to find out the issue, my battery, was taken care of when I got a jump. So for checking my car, checking and a charge of the battery they charged me nothing. They were super nice and I will be going here for all my auto needs. read more

I am not from Portland, so after being told by the Dealership Service Department that my pickup truck needed new front brakes, with the pads measuring 3mm and 4mm left and right (they even gave me a print out, displaying those measurements) and that they were "probably a month out" before they could get to my truck, I asked my Brother-in-Law if he knew any decent shops in the area. He immediately recommended Auto Firm NW in Gresham. The next morning, I dropped the pickup off, expecting to hear that I would be paying for new pads possibly new rotors and a technician's labor. Instead, I got a call from the shop owner Scott, telling me that the front brakes didn't need replacing and that the pads were still well within tolerance, measuring 6mm both left and right. He added that he personally test drove the vehicle and that the brakes were fine. When I asked what I owed him for the inspection and test, he replied "No Charge." That level of honesty speaks volumes. When it would have been perfectly easy to do an unnecessary job that I would have been happy to pay for because I was given incorrect information by the dealership, the Owner of Auto-Firm NW told me the straight-up truth and didn't charge me a dime. This shop pulled the motor out of my 1967 ElCamino resto- rod to Replace the oil pan. They used a one piece gasket but did not properly seal it. This gasket is used on later models with a reinforced pan. On older motors they are hard to seal. It leaked on both ends at the front cover and rear main cap. They also miss wired the transmission kick down & anti diesel seliniod. The exhaust was not properly installed, Missing collector gasket and loose bolts, The insurance company was charged $2,625.00 labor plus parts. I took it to my normal repair shop and and he Corrected all of their mistakes and did the same job for $1,100. 00 which is the normal charge. I was told that they did quality work and that Houston was best friends with the owner. I see that they moved into Superior Auto Body's building. Superior was the the shop that messed up the body repair. They belong together. I am not in San Francisco but here in Gresham. Oregon, one half a of a mile away from their shop. read more

I am not sure who these other reviews are from, but we did NOT have a good experience. I first called this company and said the Dealer quoted me xyz price to fix my car (timing chain) I asked if they can compete on the price, they said yes, bring it in and we can check it out. I left my car for a day there and they called and said I have bigger issues there is metal in my oil! You'll need a new ENGINE!!! 3K or more I thought it was weird as the Dealer did not tell me that. So, I called my husband who by the way has been working on our cars and cars in general for years (he has rebuilt engines) etc...he said let's pick up your car. We came that night and the owner I think brought us out a cup and said here is your oil...we left and my husband took it home and sifted it and there was no metal in that cup. He then drained my oil and looked at that...again no metal. He replaced my oil and we took my car back to the Dealer and had them repair the timing chain and replace oil again. There were no issues with metal in my engine. Not sure if they saw me as a helpless lady and was taking advantage that I would have just paid them for this....but to be so dishonest! I can speak to this because my entire family has our cars serviced through Auto Firm NW and we've ALWAYS had the best possible experience. Jerry & his team are as honest, caring and experienced as they come! You will not find a better group of people to work with for ALL your car service and repair needs. Most recently they helped me replace my front bumper, purchase new tires/rims, replace my battery and complete my regular oil service. They have gone above and beyond to helped me get a great deal on my stereo system because I was just not sure where to go and did NOT want to get screwed over on price. Auto Firm NW truly cares about their clients, I cannot praise them enough! I told my sister-in-law to go see Jerry after she had a dealer tell her she needed new breaks right away because she was metal on metal, they also told her she needed new tires. She went in to Auto Firm NW to get their opinion just to be sure and was told she still had 65% left on her breaks and her tires were in great shape. They DID NOT charge her to check this out and sent her on her way because her car was in perfect shape. Their honesty saved her over $700 bucks and of course made her a client for life. They NEVER take advantage of anyone and they always do what is in YOUR best interest as their client. Let me tell you, that kind of honesty in the auto world is SO HARD TO FIND. We are so lucky to have people that care right in our backyard. Through the years I've been to many different shops with many different vehicles but there Striving for the best service and knowledge is worlds above everybody else.
