We had All-Star glass replace the windshield on our 2014 Sienna only to be involved in a near head collision shortly after due to a suicidal wrong way driver speeding at 60+ on a narrow 2 lane highway. While the entire car was totaled including the frames around the windshield, incredibly the windshield didn't crack or break at all! This is why when our car experienced a "smash and grab" theft on Thursday night from a rear window on our Highlander, All-Star was the only place we considered for our urgent repair. What was additionally remarkable was that we had scheduled an appointment for Monday, the first available when we scheduled through the All-Star call center, Marci called us on Friday afternoon and delighted us by asking if we wanted to get the window replaced 3 days earlier by getting the repair that same day. Marci was very patient and extremely personable when both dropping off the car and during pickup. I called to get price quotes on 4 window chips/cracks - 1 the size of a pencil eraser, 3 the size of a pencil point. I was told they would only repair 3 chips. I asked if it was due to the integrity of the glass and the reply was simply their policy was a max of 3 and could not be called out again to repair the 4th. I was told if more than 3 the whole windshield needed to be replaced as it is more cost effective. The price to replace the windshield is almost 3x that of the 3 chip repair quote. More cost effective for whom? I said I needed to think on it (and to call around) and was informed they were competitive in pricing and when that I call back the windshield replacement would price would be dropped $20. I didn't really care for the fact that I would only get a discount for shopping around and not being a trusting customer. Plus, when I called around I not only got a better price, from a 5 star reviewed place but also all 4 chips repaired at that same lower price. Whether or not you choose this company, my advise is to shop around to at least get the lowered callback rate. read more

Truck window was broken in the morning. I dropped off my truck at lunch and walked to lunch. By the time I got back the truck was done (less than an hour). Not only did the technician clean up all the glass but I noticed he took the time to vacuum my entire truck! Window works great and matches the rest. Very friendly and professional service. A rock hit my windshield while on the freeway and I needed it replaced. My insurance (AAA) had me get in touch with All Star. I was really happy to hear they come to your office so I didn't have to take off work or use valuable weekend time. They were here and gone within an hour or so, very courteous, and gave me a free bottle of glass cleaner (for AAA customers they said). It's been about a month and so far so good. The windshield makes a little creaking sound now and then but nothing terrible. read more

I have a significant crack in my windshield. I ordered a new one from the auto dealer ...and then thought to call my insurance. They told me I was covered, but that they usually deal with All Star Glass". They gave me "Rob's" number for future reference. I called to check on what the difference would have been (cost and materials) between what the dealer quotes and what All Star would charge. Even though I was asking a "what if" question rather than a actual sale, Rob and his staff went out of their way to research the specific parts and were very responsive to my question. Well, about to have to get (someone else, obviously) to remount my windshield after these jokers failed twice. The problem does not manifest except at freeway speeds. That is when the ear piercing screaming. Was not dead certain it was the replacement windshield until yesterday. A 8" strip of top molding had peeled back from the corner. Frustrated that my insurance company would not pay for an (OEM) windshield for my Lexus, but called All Star Glass and they found the same glass that Lexus uses and the same color of shade band that my car had. Let me preface this review by saying that since we have full windshield coverage I did not do any cost comparison shopping. (Lots of softball and baseball games as well as highway driving and snow and ice back in CT will encourage you to do that!) In any event a small star shaped crack which we had had repaired years back in CT decided to spread its wings into about an 8 inch crack a few weeks ago. Long story short our insurance company said the whole windshield needed to be replaced at this point. They connected me with the company who handles their glass and windshield claims. When I told them I was new to the area and had NO idea which company to go to I was told that company names come up on a rotating basis, two at a time. This time an El Cajon company as well as All Star Glass were in the rotation. As we now live in Rancho Bernardo I went with All Star. They got All Star on the line for me. I think it was Laura who took down our car's information, explained a few things to me and before I knew it I was in contact with Marci who took it from there. She verified our information, called our insurance for authorization because we requested Honda parts for our 2003 Accord and answered all the questions and concerns I had. She let us know where it was coming from and about how long it would take. She got the authorization the next day and within 6 days Juan was arriving at our condo to install the new windshield. At that time he explained what we could and should not do for the next 24 hours and we were good to go. Overall I found them to be very professional, efficient, helpful and patient, as I had lots of different questions and wanted reassurance about certain things. 11 phone calls back and fourth in three days and the windshield still ain't fixed...and won't be...here. Called the 800 number which goes to Sacramento and got some new girl on the phone...total waste of time...train them before you put them on the phone. Got a quote, finally, of $329 (my wife got this one) and while I went to their Poway location and talked with a real person I got a quote for the same vehicle for $349. OK they said this included tax but they would honor the 'internet' quote. There were two windshields to choose from and the woman at the desk told me that the price was the same no matter which one I needed. I asked her again and she assure me that the PRICE WAS THE SAME...TWICE!! Ok sent the wife down the next day and when she gets there the price has gone up to $458 which is about a 30% increase. Asked for a manager but they were conveniently not available. An hour or so later she calls me and says well we had the 'expensive' windshield not the cheap windshield. I reminded her that the woman at the desk assured me REPEATEDLY that there was no difference in price that they just needed to know which one was the correct one. Rather than honor the quote she argued and interrupted continuously and said she would have to talk with the girl on the desk. I had no time or patience for them any longer. I thanked her, hung up and called around and landed on Low Cost Auto Glass who came in over $60 cheaper and was almost 40% cheaper on a repair for another vehicle of mine. It is my opinion that All Star Glass is running a bait and switch scam so beware...you've been warned. read more
