Great customer service and very responsive until... you get your car back and they are paid. For an automobile paint repair company, they are not very attentive to details. I received my car with scratches - they buffed it up, but wild how they didn't see that before handing the car back. It look like someone wiped the car while wearing a ring or something. It followed the flow of the rag on the surface. Then a few days later I noticed some white stuff in between where the rear lights connects with the trunk. Looks like some primer that was over cleaned up. Then I noticed a chipped off section at the edge of the trunk where it opens. Hard to see from the outside until you see it while the trunk is open. Then... there's also a section with some thick paint... like come on man! I have left message three weeks ago to give them a chance to fix it, but man... so much hassle. Be sure to be attentive to details if you plan to use this place. Also they had to remove the battery to replace a number. They didn't close the front cover in the front trunk properly. It was all loose and shit. 2 stars is me being generous cause they fixed at 80 percent what they're paid to do... but geeze! Look... it's already such a hassle trying to coordinate time between work, auto repair, and family. Least y'all can do is get right the first time. read more

Scam! Gave a fake estimate for a friend of the guy giving the estimate cause I was paying out of pocket. Trying to scam me out of $3,300 tried to explain how one dent would be over 14 hours of repair and 13 hours to paint plus 13 hours in paint cost. Garbage shop!!! Go somewhere else!!! Not recommended. The repair process took far too long, nearly a month for a simple fix. The shop seems to operate at a slow pace, with many days when little or no work gets done. I was sent here by my insurance and towing company, not by choice. When I finally got my car back, it still had visible scratches. I won't be returning in the future. read more

Don't go anywhere else for your body repair but to Caliber Collision (Mira Mesa). My Tesla Model Y unfortunately took on an object in the median, and sustained damage to the left side (driver's side) and the front hood. Ben Lagutan was my service advisor. My car was towed to the Mira Mesa office and every few days, Ben would contact me and give me a progress report on my Tesla. I couldn't believe how they repaired my damage and made my car look like - it never was damaged in the first place. The date they stated it would be fixed was exactly the date the work was completed. When I picked up my car, Ben assisted me in reviewing the features I had forgotten and stayed with me till I felt comfortable again to drive home. Ben should be commended for his kindness. Continuation - December 31st rolled around. At this point I looked at it. It was much better but of course the paint was dented again bc they rushed curing. Also, where the clear had hardened, they simply sanded it and did not smooth it out so it was rough on the edges. At this point I just told them I would bring it back when I got back from my trip bc I was just so fed up with the back and forth. They gave me no updated paperwork even when I asked. Before I left I told them that Enterprise said they would need to initiate the payment on their end to which the tech said they already did. Now fast forward to present time. I noticed there was a charge from Enterprise. It turned out that Caliber never initiated the PO so Enterprise charged me. I told Enterprise they can reach my adjuster bc my adjuster reached out to Caliber personally to where they agreed Caliber would cover the difference for my rental since they needed to fix their shoddy work. I called enterprise and they said because it has been closed out they have to work with the GM to generate a PO. This is what set me off the edge to finally leave this review. Almost 1.5 weeks later, I have not heard from Enterprise because they said their GM needs to resolve it with Caliber's GM to which I don't really believe they can even remember to complete that task. It isn't hard to initiate a PO retroactively and account for it. Below are some photos at first inspection. Also, my husband did research online on Tesla owner forums. Many have said to avoid this location!! They recommended another shop in Sorrento Valley that works on luxury cars. I think we are just going to buy a new one because I just feel like I shouldn't have to settle and continue to pay on a car that has basically been tainted by poor work. read more

Got an estimate here, as well as from 4 other collision centers and the estimate I received from this Caliber Collision was $3000 more than the other 4! (The other 4 all came in around similar pricing, including 2 dealerships). There were a ton of unnecessary items that I was told were "required" for my car. None of which were listed or mentioned by the other collision centers (including the two affiliated w dealerships). When I inquired about them, the employee doing the estimate could not explain or justify them but just stated they're "necessary." Clearly they are ripping people off and adding on unnecessary work. Do not trust a fair estimate from them and if you do get an estimate here, at least make sure you check at least two other collision centers for comparison. I found Caliber Collision to be a complete outlier in pricing w multiple extraneous add ons. read more

Had a great experience with Caliber at 9985 Huennekens St. My car got hit and run the other day, called the police and insurance, there is not much they can do to trace down the driver, I had to fix my car on my own. Went to a few places before coming to Caliber, received high quotes with something I think it's small to fix. A co-worker of mine recommended Caliber to me so I went to 9985 Huennekens St, this location. Ben took a look at my car and offered to polish the scratches for me for free as he thinks it was not serious. I was surprised with his diagnosis and 5 mins later, he returned my car, the scratches were gone. In addition, he advised me how to handle the other small things which can be the easy fix. I recently got into a minor fender bender and relied on AAA to choose a vendor to fix my car. They chose Caliber Collision because they were a preferred AAA vendor. I'm glad they did! The staff were always friendly and accommodating. I had a scheduling mix up for my initial appointment and they were patient with me and took me in the same day just at a different time. The phone greeting is a little lengthy but I know that it helps with their efficiency overall. Gabriel was my sales rep and he kept me in the loop during my whole repair and I got text messages and calls to keep me updated. I was nervous because I have a relatively new car but the repair came out nicely and it didn't even take too long! Caliber took 3 months to do a botched body filler job on my Model 3 after they had told me that they had to order new parts. They drilled holes into the side panel to use body filler on what was relatively not a lot of damage. The paint job that they did looked like it was done by an unsupervised beginner. Fortunately another body shop helped me out and redid it all professionally with new parts ordered from Tesla. There were problems with the insurance because of Caliber's involvement and the need to pay the other body shop. After much hassle it was sorted out. read more

Be very careful if you choose to bring your vehicle here. I entrusted Caliber with my vehicle that needed repair from a rear end accident. Upon picking up my vehicle, there was a door scratch and another's vehicle's paint on my side mirror. These were done at Caliber. It was inconvenient at best that we had driven up to pick up our vehicle which should've been in prime condition, only to have to leave and wait another week for them to fix the damages they've inflicted at the shop. Now that it is finally fixed, I find dirty fingerprints inside of my vehicle from Caliber and a bent key card which was not the shape that I had given to them. To top it off, the tech asked us to NOT fill out the survey that will be coming our way. I give 2 stars because the repair that was initially requested for, were completed.
