Do not buy from these guys! I agree with others they are scammers. I've bought more than a few used cars over the years and these guys are by far the worst. They are always moving the negotiated price around on the customers. I had to correct the manager 5 times during the negotiation that the amount for the vehicle was not correct. His response every time was "I'm getting confused with amount...sorry". I could understand this if it happened once or twice at the most but 5 times is crazy, this is their tactic to wear you down and get you to sign the agreement without noticing the change. I'm in the process of filing a complaint with BBB and the Illinois Sec of State and the Illinois consumer fraud division for the Illinois Attorney General's office. Very Happy! I recently visited Auto House while i was in search of a new vehicle on a time crunch.. I was immediately greeted by the sales associate Ahmad, he was awesome .. very friendly and had a great energy. I had gone there looking for a specific vehicle i had seen (a mercedes e350) but looked at a couple of different vehicles.. all of which were very nice and seemed decently priced. I decided to go with the Mercedes, i was provided with the complete car fax and the car is gorgeous.. while it had some very minimal minor wear and tear it was in incredible shape! The process was very smooth and easy... Ahmad got me a great price.. and they were very willing to help me start within my budget, which i was grateful for.. my car was an incredible value based on the age of the vehicle and the low mileage (only 65,000 mi) There was a tail light that was cracked .. as well as the mercedes hood ornament that had been broken off. I brought these to the attention of Ahmad which he assured me they would have replaced and fixed! They followed through on their promise and ordered me both a new emblem as well as a new taillight cover from Mercedes and had them installed for me.. as well as a brand new battery. I was very happy, the entire team was great and very efficient and friendly. I would most definitely buy a car from them in the future. My family owned a preowned auto business for many years and i know that it is hard to please everyone. All i can say is make sure you do your own due diligence on the car fax and inspect the vehicle carefully for yourself.. but Auto House delivered on everything that they promised they would for me. I am so upset with this dealership. I went one week ago, looked at a car and was very excited about one. With my job I am only able to come in on the weekend and they're closed Sunday. I put $200 down to hold the car so I could come the following Saturday (today) to purchase it, was reassured they wouldn't sell it for the week. Sam called me in the morning to confirm I was coming which I said yes. Martin (another salesman) also knew I was interested in the car - he texted me and told me he sold it. He said the deposit is only to hold the "the price" Asked to speak to the manager was told to call back later. Do not give these people your money. Horrible way to do business. I wanted a specific car. I found a dealdealership with that specific car. Went to the dealership to specifically buy that specific car. I qualified for a loan. But their lender would NOT finance the car I wanted because it wasn't expensive enough... (the reason I was given) so they asked if I'd like to look at any other (I'm assuming more expensive) cars. The answer was a somewhat baffled "no". And an "I guess I'll just leave then..?" So I left without buying the car that BOTH they had for sale, AND that I wanted to buy. ‍‍‍ How does that happen? I'm at a loss for the negative reviews. I'll update this if things change but I recently bought a Toyota Prius from them and had a good experience. The car was in good condition and at an excellent price. There was no pressure and everything seemed honest. They brought down the price a little bit and covered the tire pressure sensor that was going off. They were also willing to sell me a spare donut tire at cost, but they let me know they found a spare already in there and refunded me the money. This is only four stars because my dad and I flagged the tire pressure sensor before we bought and picked up the car. They said they would have it fixed, but they didn't adequately resolve the tire pressure light. It was a hassle to drop off and pick up. Still, they honored their agreement with me and covered the costs. My recommendation would be to check that the spare tire or normal equipment is in the car and to check Carfax before you buy. So far, I've driven the car roughly 8 hours on the highway to and from visiting my boyfriend, and the car runs very well. I am pleased. read more

Where do I start. I went on 10/1 and bought(also cash purchase) a Nissan Altima for my 17 year old, and they were pretty decent people. Went back on 10/12 with my older son and purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata hybrid cash for approx 13K. On 11/17, thats right less 45 days after purchase the transmission is gone, and car is DONE. Towed said car to actual Hyundai dealer and was told that we were sold a shit car. It was nice looking externally but should have NEVER been sold due to the fact it needs a completely new transmission which is estimated as a repair cost of $7,390. I spoke to the finance guy on Monday, 11/18, who gladly took my cash payment for the vehicle and was faced with nothing but attitude. I genuinely thought that we were dealing with a reputable lot but whew I was sadly mistaken. The least they could have done is either fix the issue or switch the car with another on their lot to be a honest and a reputable business. We have lined their pockets with our cash, but are now out of a vehicle after a month. I left a message today after speaking with Hyundai dealer and am still waiting on a call back to discuss this. Please, please, please be very careful when shopping at this lot. I would hate for you to be in this situation. I was told that they were going to get me an interior rearview mirror and fix my moonroof, after numerous times of taking my car for what they would tell me for a few hours it would end up being over night. They signed an IOU stating the repairs would be completed and it never happened. I exchanged text messages with Muhammed over and over then he ignored me and when I call he would ignore that as well. We found a car at Auto House Motors via Autotrader and made an inquiry. The Salesman (Martin) responded via email, but in the meantime the Finance Manager (Sam) called. We gave him a credit card number and documentation for a deposit. We responded to all of their requests for info and emailed asking what the next step was. Four days later we received an email from the Salesman saying the car had been sold to someone else the day after we gave them a deposit. When we called we were rudely given the run around and when we asked to speak with the owner we were told he doesn't speak to anyone. We are waiting for our deposit to be returned and really disappointed. I'd advise NOT to buy from these people. They are less than honest and quite nasty. read more

Do NOT buy a car from this place. They knowingly sell bad cars. My husband and I bought a car we were assured was in perfect condition. Their own website says they have a 125 pt inspection. Within a month of purchasing (outside their 2 week warranty window), the car is in the shop. The engine is on its last legs. Keep in mind, I use this car to drive 1.5 miles to my daughter's daycare, so it was driven less than 100 miles since purchase. These people are liars and bad business. I tried to buy a car and got approved for financing. I let them know that there was somethings wrong with the car. It was a Chevy aveo, first of all the radio didn't work, passenger side handle gone, brake cap gone, the oil needed changing and the car pulled to the right. The only thing that was good was the low mileage for the year. They promised that they would fix it and have it ready the next day, I couldn't see how but ok. The following day after I didn't get a call before I left work , I called and was told the mechanic was just getting there at 1 pm. Long story short they didn't have the car ready till Friday. I told them I would pick it up saturday. I called and asked if I could pay the car straight out cash. The salesman Sam was less than pleased. Basically he told me that I need to go talk to the finance manager, I did. Me and the finance manager talked he wouldn't give me my $500 deposit back because they said they fixed the car for me. He said what they fixed was cosmetic, how is a door handle to open the door cosmetic?!!!!! Plus the oil change the non functioning radio they NEEDED to fix cosmetic!!! I test drove on 3/26 a blue 2013 Hyundai Elantra with approximately 39,000 miles on this car. This car per CarFax report this dealer provides as a CarFax Advantage Dealer stated the car was on their lot since the fall, purchased from McGrath Hyundai. I left a deposit of $300 and stated I would be getting the insurance check for a totaled vehicle early week 3/29. I planned to pay the car in full. I get a call on 3/29 from Auto House Motors stating the engine is bad. I test drove this car and had no indication the engine was bad. This was a complete waste of my time. Why wouldn't the car have been checked out as their website indicates they do? They wait for a sale to then check out the car or did they sell the vehicle over the weekend for a higher price?Yes I did get my deposit back, but want buyers to be aware that the CarFax reports only include those businesses that subscribe to CarFax. I purchased a 2007 f150 king ranch from them. As I got ready to drive off, the cover to the ashtray fell off and the port for the charger came out of the dash. During my ride the passenger side window stopped working. When I got to my destination, the truck began shaking as I put it in reverse. I called them and they agreed to fix those problems. The very next day, i went through the car wash and discovered the sunroof was broken and didn't close properly. As I drove off wet, my fuel pump went out a block up the road. They eventually fixed everything except the sunroof. They took the fuse out of it to prevent it from being opened. A few days later, the truck started to shake when idle and it had no power going up hills. So I decided to get a tune up. During that, I learned that the truck had the wrong and damaged spark plugs, and a few of the ignition coils were missing bolts. The tuneup didn't solve the problem so I went a had a full diagnostic test ran on the truck. I learned the the timing was off on the truck and I might need an engine rebuild or a totally new engine. By that time, I had driven the truck over 500 miles. So they won't have anything to do with it. They sold me a warranty that is pretty much worthless because the truck has been worked on before and the warranty company won't honor it. Fortunately I'm able to get my money back from the warranty company. I've had this vehicle for a total of 19 days. It's a lemon that they masked with shade tree mechanic work. I hate that I wasted my money with Auto house. I feel completely ripped off. I don't recommend them at all. Avoid at all cost. read more

My daughter recently purchased a car at AutoHouse and are very pleased with the car dealer and the people there. I helped my daughter choose the used 2013 Infiniti. She had the car for about a week and noticed a sound coming from the steering system. We took the car back to AutoHouse and without any question Swavek Krakowiak took charge and called the mechanic and fixed the problem immediately. The car runs great now and my daughter is very satisfied with her Infiniti. And I as a dad feel much better about her safety as a result of the repair. SCAM ARTISTS! This place is junk, just like the car they sold me. I bought my Jeep in February 2018, and have spent $5000 on getting in fixed within less than a year! My trusted auto mechanic said quote "this is the biggest piece of junk I've ever seen". I got completely scammed. They supposedly run a 200 point inspection, but so far my fuel line has gone out, replaced my break pads within the first month, oil pan, and rebuilt transmission. I think that Martin was nice but just know that you aren't shopping at a regional or National dealership. I feel insecure being a woman with her college son shopping for a college student car. I asked if they could take off a little something (mostly because the cars will need to be detailed professionally and get a full multi point inspection. Well I was stole worse the mark probably Not because they are having to pay retail. Ok. However he said the manager said he could make a deal. Don't say that you are and merely adding your fees in those hidden fees. I was paying in full so no loan doc fees. But he claimed there are. I called the state they helped me calculate how much I should pay and they even claimed yeah they aren't taking anything off and they shouldn't be charging those additional fees. My son drove the car home took it to get a car wash then the grinding started. Found out that all the brakes needed to be replaced plus the rotors, My son also noticed some bubbling on the bottom of the vehicle when he brought it back home he drive the car off in the paint fell off. Very deceptive and desperate! Buyer beware When I arrived I test drove the vehicle and was very happy. When trying to make a deal with the dealers they were very pushy throughout the process of discussing the vehicle. They told me that they would not fax a "Bill of Sale" to my bank unless I put a $500 deposit on the car. Which is not by law required but I guess they were desperate. My banker told me that if I really wanted the car and thought it was a good deal to go ahead and give them the $500 to hold the car and to make sure the $500 would go towards my down payment. The dealer now agreed he would fax the Bill of Sale to my bank and I informed the dealer that I would come back with the check from the bank and the rest of my down payment. This is where things turn for the worst. After giving the dealer my bank card, instead of charging my card $500 he charge my card $1500, then instead of him coming out to let me know that my card was declined. He stay in that room and tried to swipe my card for $1000 and it went through. I immediately got a ping on my cell phone that let me know that my account went negative. The dealer was only suppose to take $500 off my card to hold the car. Instead he went behind my back and tried to charge my card for $1500 and then instead of letting me know that my card was declined for that amount went ahead WITHOUT my permisson and tried to charge my card $1000 and it went through. So I threw a fit, demanded a FULL refund, and ran out of there! The crazy part is, is that I was going to buy the car, there was no issues with financing since I went threw my credit union for my loan. Not good the engine failed 3 weeks after I purchased the vehicle. The paperwork for the title was also not filed correctly therefore I have yet been able to register the vehicle. This was the worst experience in my life I paid 10k in full for a vehicle I cannot register or drive. I lost my job due to lack of transportation, I spent over a 1000 dollars in tow fees, diagnostic checks, maintenance since purchasing the car in July. They purposely ignored my calls during the whole situation. The knew I lived out of state so I'm assuming they were assuming it would blow over for them, however since I've lost my lost, money and vehicle I reached out to my salesperson and he was man enough to speak with me and help as much as he can but management refused to answer any calls or assist with any of my problems (had 3-4 minor issues as well). They offered me 250 dollars as assistance for an engine failing and never sent it and never answered my phone calls again. I wouldn't do any business with them at all its not worth the most unprofessional experience I had in my life and the lack of empathy, I've received legal help and advise anyone who is shopping for a vehicle to do yourself a favor and keep searching I wouldn't wish this on anyone especially during a pandemic. read more

I bought my car a week ago today and I thought it was a perfect experience. I got to drive it for two days when a noise started coming from the car. My dad, being an experienced and certified mechanic looked at it and found that the power steering pump needed to be changed. So, I called the dealer as I feel as my car I've had for two days should not already need work done on it and am told to bring it in so the mechanic can look at it. THE CAR WAS LOOKED AT FOR LESS THAN 20 MINUTES... this is inadequate time to drive it to the mechanic, take off the wheel, and put the wheel back on, which is where one can access the power steering pump. They send me home. The next day the car's noise has gotten so bad my dad deems it unsafe to drive. I call the dealer over three times being pushed to the side each time. After being told a manager would call me, and then one never does, more phone calls, slightly sassy salesmen, and no one seeming sorry they sold me a faulty car, I am fed up. Today they called me and told me that my mechanic was wrong and that I would need to take it BACK to them, but why would I trust their work after how I was already treated. NO ONE GO TO AUTO HOUSE MOTORS IN DOWNERS GROVE. Luckily, my dad can fix my car for me, but if my dad hadn't been able to diagnose my car I could have believed them and gotten into an accident due to their practices. read more

I would not recommend this company. I bought a used car from them. The salesman, told us the car was checked over. I had the CarFax, etc. Within the first month, car had to be towed 3 times, repaired by them once. At one point I was stranded and called them, one of their managers/ owners said he would come and get me, be there in 15 minutes. After an hour, called him back, "I forgot, you will have to have someone else,but have it towed to BOB's tomorrow. Also, needed a new battery while out of town, paid $130.00 they said they would reimburse...lie. The 2nd time, they told me to tow the car to them. They did not tell me that their mechanic quit, the manager, "Shady" (yes, that's his name) told me that they are doing a full diagnostic on it, until they came clean and told me they did not have a mechanic. During this time, they called to tell me I can pick up my license plates! They took the car to a mechanic down the street. Car breaks down towed back, they tell me to take it to their mechanic. Get a call the next day, dealer lied to me and they are not covering the cost. $400.00 out of my pocket, got the car back. Drove the car less than a mile, check engine light comes on. I have called them every time. Shady said it's my problem. Contacted them every time I had an issue, they don't return calls or texts, yet I have texts and voice messages saying they will take care of it. WORSE place in north america. Was buying a ford freestyle. Had to put insurance on it, then go to loan company to finishing paper work to pick up check. Then i got a call from the salesman named MARTIN told me not to sign papers and he would call me in ten minutes. Waited twenty five minutes, So i decided to go to dealership to see what was wrong. There to my surprise was a lady loading her stuff in my freestyle. So i called him without him knowing i was sitting in street in front of dealership and he told me he couldn't sell it to me because it had some bad issues. then i told him he was lying to me I was watching this lady load it up and leave with it. So i went to dealerships door knocked on it and looked in and nobody wasn't even there. i saw a car drive away when i was walking up i guess he sold it and left. And he never called me back, so i drove hour up north to be treated like this. I had to call loan company cancel that and then had to call insurance company and cancel it, I would never recommend this car dealership to no one and i should get something for mine and my brothers time because i needed a second driver to drive my car home. well theres a day, gas, and time i wasted along with loan company and insurance company time and to be treated like a nobody.
