ZERO STARS I purchased my 2018 lincoln mkc on 11/28/2025. I complained of the smell of antifreeze at the test drive. As well as mis firing during the test drive. Sam, the agent said he would have the car serviced and checked out. I came back to test drive the same lincoln mkc. I was told the vehicle had no issues and passed the illinois vehicle inspection. I still smelled antifreeze. I was told it was the cleaning chemicals when the car was detailed. I purchased the vehicle. Cash. I drove almost home and the check engine light came on. I brought the vehicle back to Ultimate Motors more than 5 times. One of those times I was told that I had to pay for the vehicle mis firing. I paid $140 to have 4 spark plugs changed. They were the wrong spark plugs for the vehicle. I took the vehicle to my mechanic 3-4 times in the process and was told that antifreeze is leaking into the engine. This vehicle stalled to start and smoked from the tail pipes. Turns out, the vehicle needs a whole new engine costing more than $5500. I called Ultimate Motors and was told that "unfortunately" they can't help because I did not purchase the additional warranty. I have had this vehicle for less than 90 days. The manager also refusedt o give me his name..My mechanic is willing to testify as this is and was a pre existing issue prior to sale. I signed a Retail Installment Contract with Ultimate Motor Cars on July 30, 2025, and paid a $550 down payment, which they cashed. The contract is fully signed and does not include any conditional delivery clause -- meaning the car should've been in my possession. They promised free delivery, scheduled it, then pulled a bait-and-switch, demanding more documents last minute on July 31st (after saying everything was ok). I provided everything, yet they continue to delay, blaming the bank -- even though financing is their responsibility after a signed contract WITHOUT CONDITIONAL DELIVERY CLAUSE. This is textbook dealer abuse -- I've filed complaints with the Illinois Attorney General, the Secretary of State, and will pursue legal action under the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act if the car isn't in my possession by the end of the week. read more

I found my JGC on Car Gurus and sent Ultimate Motor Cars in Downers Grove, IL a message inquiring about it. They got in contact with me and text me that to 1000% ease my mind, everything exterior and interior is in great condition and mechanically it's extremely sound. Nov 21, I purchased it from Josh, and went through a nightmare with a runaround with the shipping being told it was shipped on multiple different days when it was not and have an audio from the salesman stating the dealership is not responding to multiple customers and they were pretty much telling him to lie to me. Dec 2, the Jeep finally arrived and I text the sales manager, Robert, that the driver said it was $600 and he told me $350. He didn't respond, so I called him at the dealership and let him know that and I proceeded to tell him all that was wrong with the Jeep as soon as they drove it off the trailer. The tire pressure sensor lights were showing tires were low, the oil had not been changed in over 9,000 miles, it smelled hot, the oil was saying it was at only 13% and it was leaking all over the ground, driver could not get it out of 4 low and the stability control light kept coming on saying to have it serviced and only one key fob worked, etc. I told him they could take the vehicle back and he refused. I later sent him another text stating all that was wrong again and the hassel and lies about getting it here and being afraid to drive it not knowing what is wrong with it. I never heard anything back. I was able to get the Jeep in and found it has a significant oil leak, and 8/9 out of 10, and was told to try not to drive it because the oil filter housing unit needed to be replaced. They said to get a hold of the dealership to give them their number to contact them right away because they should be responsible for it, especially with just getting it and that issue could not have been "not noticed" especially with what they said they did. I sent the sales manager a text explaining it all and to get a hold of them. I told him if he needs anything from me to text me because I will not take a call from him as I want proof of everything they say. He never respinded. After numerous attempts to get a hold of him, he never did respond. I had to pay almost $1300. I have turned the dealership into a few different agencies and the owner, Vince, finally responded to me on Jan 30. He said he can't afford these bad reviews and the salesman, Josh, was let go and no longer with them. He said he would reimburse me for the oil filter housing unit repair and to bring it in to have the knocking noise, rough idling, module not working correctly, stability control and abs lights going on, etc. and if it's not too much he would pay for the repairs, otherwise he would take it back and reimburse me everything. I brought it in and it needs a new module and it has a misfire and it looks like the roller rockers are eating away at the cam. I gave him all the information only to have him tell me to bring the Jeep back to him with the title and now won't respond to me. This is over a 12 hour round trip drive, I paid to have it brought to me due to health issues, it's blowing max A/C cold air randomly in the middle of winter (module keeps glitching so I have no control of the temps, radio, maps, anything) it's idling and running rough, they sold and brought me an unsafe defective vehicle, I was told to drive it as little as possible and I'm afraid to drive it anyway with all the issues and I would have no way back. He knows all of this, but now he has decided I have to bring it back to him to get my money back. This dealership has done nothing but misrepresent and mislead in the most unethical, fraudulent ways. I now have a vehicle that they sold me with undisclosed significant issues that is going to cost up to $10,000 to repair. I have ALL texts, videos and audio to prove everything this dealership has done. I am beyond sick about this. Why would I, or anyone, purchase a vehicle with any problems let alone almost $10,000 worth and how pathetic and disgusting is it for a dealership to do to someone?? I found a toyota sienna limited premium on their website. it was perfect. had blu ray, nice leather interior, and was a good deal. i contacted their dealership to reach their new employee Blake. He admitted he was a recent hire. after the deal was made, many details started deteriorating. first, i was showing my friend the car and we realized the car that was listed was not the car i was buying. it was NOT a limited premium but actually just a limited. It did not have a blu ray as listed, nor many of the other details on their website. i notified them, and they just ignored this and said there was nothing they could do. i spoke with their manager and felt as if he was talking down to me as a woman, i mentioned this and he apologized and then offered me a discount of $500. The difference between those two cars is over $4000, not $500. When the car arrived, it arrived with pieces missing from the dash, the front dash with a warning light on, a broken key fob that is going to take me $200 to fix and no title. Although the staff is friendly, they're not honest. I bought a beautiful car from this lot only to have a CAT code come up the moment I got off the highway to take it home. Brought it back the next week only for them to wipe the code off and not do any maintenance. I lived 45 mins away so taking the drive was a minor inconvenience in itself. This was in the beginning of the year & after doing my own inspections of the car I have concluded that TOM, did not replace my cat like he said he did and he only cleaned it. Now it was still under warranty so I didn't have to pay a dime, but because of his dishonesty and pettiness I now have to pay for a new one on my own. In November of 2021 I purchased a car from Ultimate Motor Cars Dealership. Danny was the salesmen I worked with and I was coming from a few hours away to purchase the car. Danny assured me it was a good car in good working order. That the engine and everything was good. Four months and 3700 miles after the purchase, I was on a road trip and I had noticed the car making a bad noise. I pulled into a dealership certified for my make of car. They informed me that the car I just recently purchased for $8500 needed nearly $5000 in repairs. While I paid a premium price for service at a certified dealership, I needed that as I was a long way from home, only halfway to my destination and they deemed my car unsafe to drive & provided me a free loaner. A smaller shop would not have been able to do that. I have a written statement from the service manager saying that the issues with the car were so prevalent and the condition of the issues were so bad, that I was sold a bad car and the issues were not new within the time I had owned the vehicle. They had been ongoing for awhile based on the condition as well as the oil and debris build up in the problem areas. I regret that I am not well informed enough on cars to have caught on sooner and I regret that I was in a bad position after my car being totaled & in a rush to buy a car. There are similar reviews to mine posted on BBB's website. I contacted the dealership directly asking for help covering the cost of the repairs and they refused to work with me at all - even for one major component of the repairs. I purchased a vehicle from Ultimate Motor Cars in June of 2024 and was lied to and deceived. I flew in from the East Coast for this vehicle and should have just went back to the airport and flew home. I was told that the car was not smoked in, which was false. As soon as you entered the car you smelled the masked smell of cigarette smoke. There were/are burn holes from cigarette ash on the driver seat. After I drove it to a relatives house where I was staying at, I realized that there was a small crack in the windshield. No objects from the short drive to the house hit the windshield, so this crack was there upon the sale of the vehicle. Also, the vehicle locks where re-keyed and the aftermarket remote that came with it, was missing the blade key to access the vehicle incase the batteries in the remote stopped working. I called them and spoke to Dominic, whom sold me the vehicle and he acted so surprised about the vehicle being smoked in, when he was the one that supposedly went and checked it for me and stated it was not smoked in. I mentioned about windshield crack and he tried playing it off that it could have happened on the way home and I assured him it didn't. I asked to be reimbursed $75 for what I paid to get it repaired and said that's the least they could do, since I was lied to about the vehicle being smoked in. He said he's look into it and I never heard back, despite several phone calls. Also, he kept giving me the run around about the getting a blade key replacement. They didn't want to pay Nissan to do it, as it was too expensive and wanted me to find a locksmith. I spoke with several locksmiths and even took the car to one, but they were unable to do it, as they needed a mechanic to take apart the door in order to re-key it. This would have costed the same as taking it to Nissan to have it done. I called and let Dominic know and he once again said he'd look into it and would call me back. Never happened. I would like to preface this review by saying that it was an absolute nightmare and that I regret doing business with them. Bought a car from them with fairly low miles given the year for what I believed was a fair price based on market and KBB value. Upon driving said car off the lot I felt good about the purchase and the people I bought it from. Roughly an hour later that same day I was cruising down the highway and hear a grind as the car (manual transmission) popped out of gear and would not go back in. I called the dealership immediately and asked them if they would cover it, they told me that under state law clutches would not be covered, Lie #1. I was also told that since the car had exhaust modifications that they had no obligation to cover the transmission lie #2. Upon researching my rights as a consumer, I was informed by an attorney that it would be covered under state law. Over a month passed and after forking over more money the car is back on the road after they had fought me tooth and nail the entire time. Had they stepped up and handled the situation with class I would have given them 5 stars. Please I implore you don't spend your money at this shady establishment. I called several times about a 2008 Nissan Maxima. I asked about exterior condition as well as mechanical. I was told that their shop went thru the car and the only thing it needed was the exhaust repaired. I live about 4 hours away, but routinely fly thru Chicago. Last week I took an Uber from Ohare to their shop. ($45 bucks). Union arrival I met with Danny. He gave me the keys and told me to take it for a spin. Due to many reviews about this dealer, I made an appt to take it to the Nissan dealer to have a prebuy inspection done. There are lots of dealers within 1 mile of their location. I spent $155 on the inspection to learn that the shocks and struts were bad. There was a ticking noise that was a timing issue, and several other items. The dealer had their cost to repair at almost $3000. (Yes it's a dealer at dealer rates, but still a lot wrong with the car). I drove the car back to Ultimate Motor Cars. Danny asked what the dealer said. I gave him the keys and said I was no longer interested. I took and Uber and left. This dealer is a father, son, and 1 or 2 other people from what I could tell. They have a service shop, and if the service shop checked out this car and missed all of the issues, I would never recommend them! Unfortunately, I did not have an independent mechanic look at it until after I purchased it. My fault, I trusted the used car salesman. After receiving the car I had it checked out by two seperate mechanics that determined that the car was "UNSAFE" to drive and it would cost 3-5 thousand dollars to repair it. About 4 years ago I bought a used car from these guys. I'm a constant used car buyer, so I have seen the good, the bad, the ugly. These folks were great. They helped with the decision, suggested a mechanic to check it over, and made the whole process very easy. The same car is still running strong, the predictions from the mechanic (e.g., to expect to put in new brakes in about 20k miles) turned out to be accurate. Overall a very good experience. Buying a car is not always a fun experience. We did however really enjoy working with Vince at Ultimate. He treated us very fairly and worked out a deal we all could live with. There were no high pressure sales tactics and we were able to take the car for a few hours to let our mechanic look it over. This is a huge positive when buying a used car. Since they have been in business so long, we felt confident that they would be around if we had a problem. We called about some scratches we found after taking the car home and Vince said bring it in and we will buff them out. Drove three hours one way to look at a 2007 expedition that their salesman swore had "no rust". After viewing it for less than three minutes it was painfully obvious that the vehicle was a pile of garbage. Side mirrors were two way taped back on, and the vehicle had so much rust underneath that you could put your fingers through the floorboards. Worst dealership I've ever been to. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! I purchased a 2005 C230 Kompressor, i drove all the way up from Ohio to get it. Paid Cash, at time of purchase my girlfriend was with me, the salesman asked "Is she going to be driving ot too?" I said "Sure" he suggested putting us both on the title. Only 6 weeks after i got it back to Ohio, the transmission computer was shot, car was undrivable. Took it to a Mercedes Benz dealership, they explained that it was going to $2700 to replace it, and they said are you aware the A.C is blown as well. Thats going to be another $1100.00 i paid $8500.00 for the car. Nice, needs another $3800.00. I called the salesman and explained all the work this car needed, HE COULD CARE LESS!!! They had my $$$ and ANOTHER LEMON off their lot. I blame myself for not doing more research, i trusted they were not selling me junk. So after 2 years of sitting in my garage i finally got the $$$ together to have all the work done on the vehicle. It is now 2015 the car looks and runs excellent. It needed tons of work. I took it to go get registered on Florida, and since my girlfriend is on the title they said "I need to have her here in FL, or the dealership needs to simply email us stating at time of sale, she was put on the title in error. I approached Michelle with U.M.Cars with my request she put me over to speak with Vinny. He said he was not going to do that. I emailed him a signed letter from my ex girlfriend with a copy of her drivers license and contact info, where she explained she wants nothing to do with this car, i bought the car, she only went on the title becuase the salesman said she should. After several attempts to work this out with Vin. He became very frustrated, even though i spent close to $10,000 cash in thier buisness they refused to assist me with this. So now, i either have to fly my ex to Florida, drive to Ohio, or just abandon an $11,000 vehicle. I am a buisness owner myself. I would never treat anyone of my customers anywhere near as poorly as this place. All aspects of this Dealership are POOR. I hope before you consider purchasing even a bumper sticker from these guys, HAVE AN OUTSIDE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC LOOK OVER THE VEHICLE!!!!!
