See, in my case it wasn't just about getting the car fixed, it was also about rescuing my vacation and the crew at TDR understood that. The car was dropped off just before closing time on Monday. A quick check revealed a punctured gas tank. They gave me a ride to a rental car company and I figured that we would have a few days to explore Rapid City. I was wrong. The next day they were able to locate the parts needed and the car was ready to pick up that afternoon. Between Teegan and the rest of the people in the office and at least two different mechanics, this was a team effort and they did a fantastic job saving our vacation. Even with all the extra efforts, the prices were very fair. Thank you to TDR and the fantastic service they offered.

I contacted the local Chevy dealer, but they didn't feel my situation was any more of an emergency than any other vehicle in their shop and said 2-3 weeks before they could get me in! I tried calling multiple other places as well, but TDR understood my situation and got my vehicle in and out in a couple of hours after moving other local customer's' vehicles around to make room for mine. Dropped the truck off the night before, and they said the work I needed done could be done in 1 day. I informed them that I could only afford to have this truck down for one day. After having the truck sit at the shop for hours, they called me with a bunch of items they claim needed work, which did not, and then didn't even have the parts ready to go for the work I originally requested. After 5 hours of the truck sitting there, they did zero work and blamed it on "waiting for Peterbilt to get back with them on part prices." That's funny, each time I call Peterbilt for parts they immediately tell me the price and availability over the phone. These guys have no sense of urgency and will try to "up-sell" you rather than just do the work you requested. Then they had the gall to charge me $160 for an hour of work! They are nice people, but I don't need nice, I need results and good work. I won't be going back here.

Attempted to contact Bubbas and tell them and got nothing but lies including a fake email account from a make believe CPA stating that the van refund for repair was in its way...I am leaving out key details but I'm not trying to write a book. I looked for a mechanic that worked on Volvos, and I found Thomas Auto Service. They were great! They were able to get me in that day, a Friday, diagnosis the problem, and get me running again. They did not have one of the computer chips on hand and could not get it till Monday - it was a Friday afternoon mind you - but they fixed me up enough, let me know what warning lights would stay on, and got me on my way. I feel I was treated very fairly and honestly. As an out of towner, who would probably never be back again, you worry about being taken advantage of by an unscrupulous mechanic. That was not the case here, at all. They were very honest, and the prices were very good (less than I was expecting, honestly), and it was quality work that allowed me to continue on my journey that day.
