I've been going to Lloyd Tire for 3 years now, mostly for oil changes and tire rotations…read more I recently found one of my tires would consistently have a lower tire pressure than the others which would set off my tire pressure monitoring system in my Honda every time the weather changed. Because I was in a rush and wanted to get this tire fixed as soon as possible, I dropped in to a local Pep Boys and asked them to take a look at the tire. They told me that I had two nails in my tire that were too close together and my tire couldn't be patched, offering me information on a new tire I could buy. I was a little suspicious about this, so I took my car to Lloyd Tire. They patched the tire in 30 minutes for $30. Lloyd Tire has always treated me well. I look forward to bringing my business there in the future.

My wheel had been making a dreadful sound that was getting progressively worse. Think of a…read more"womwomwomwomwom" from my wheel bay, which increased in speed along with my vehicle's speed. I could've sworn it was the front left and had thought that tire looked the worst out of the four tires, but the people at Lloyd were honest in informing me that it was actually the front right side! They replaced that tire and the sound is gone, effectively ridding me of my driving anxiety. They could've just replaced the left tire like I had initially asked and let me continue experiencing the issue, but they let me know exactly what the problem was. Chris was also very kind + patient when I had quite a few questions. I will be returning soon to get the other tire replaced!

I was very unhappy with my visit to Chapel Hill Tire. I came in for a oil change and inspection,…read morebut the experience turned into a nightmare. I feel like the employees are really nice and tried to be accommodating but a few things stuck out to me. They definitely tried to pressure me into getting more things than I wanted but overall were nice and kind, my experience with the managers was a completely different story. My car was broken into because someone did not close my door correctly/unlocked. I talked to the manager and I sent a document listing everything that was stolen, instead when we got on call, we agreed on a price for one of the items, the manager then took that as payment for the entire thing, once I was appalled with the amount given to me, the new manager said we didnt have a documented amount, even though I literally sent them a document with everything listed. Essentially, the manager fooled me into thinking he would actually pay the full amount but really only gave me half of what I was owed. I have never felt so shocked by the lack of effort by a company. I paid $1400 dollars for my service, even with the amount stolen, they still would have profited. I have lost my faith in corporate humanity, please dont be fooled like me. Edit: To Marc, the only reason you guys spent significant time contacting me is because you ghosted me for months and then proceeded to give vague claims about when the check would come. Negligence from CHT is why my car got broken into, I never received follow ups around my checks, I never received followups about the camera footage that I asked for, the only reason I got my check in the first place was because I left a bad review, the fastest responses I ever received from CHT is after bad reviews, which is everything you need to know about CHT.

As a woman, I can tell you there's no shortage of mechanics out there who will look at your car and…read morediagnose you with stuff you don't need just to charge you more. Clyde at Pass The Wrench doesn't do that. He's a fine young man who provides quality, affordable service. If the job isn't done that day, you pay him when it is. I seriously lucked out by asking on Reddit if anyone knew of a mobile mechanic that could come to our house and fix out Infiniti, someone recommended him. He answered his phone right away, listened to the issue, and came plenty prepared. Not only was he fantastic with the service he provided, he was able to get us discounts on the parts we needed, willing to work around us very close to Christmas (even offering to work ON Christmas), and it turns out he can do more than just cars. Since moving to NC, all we ever hear about is how everyone in this state has "A Guy" they know that can do fix-it/handy projects around the house. Clyde at Pass The Wrench happens to be That Guy for us now. It's rare you find someone that loves what they do and is willing to do good work at a good price without trying to swindle their customers for a quick buck. When it comes to local businesses, Pass the Wrench is exactly the sort of place I want my money going because the person running it happens to be just an all around good human. He might be based out of Raleigh, but he services all over and will come to you to fix your car. We're out in Clayton, and he came to us without issue. I will personally be recommending him to everyone I know.

My vehicle after a diagnosis was misdiagnosed and I was told I needed a tune up to fix my problem…read more($900). After the tune up did not fix the issue, I was told my throttle body and MAP sensor needed to be replaced ($900). When they realized that didn't fix the issue, the told me I needed a new engine or to replace the cylinder head (quoted at $6,000+). At this point I told them to not do any further work and I went to retrieve my vehicle. At the time I went to get my car, I asked for them to show me my throttle body that was damaged, initially they were unable to show me the damage because they did not have it in their possession anymore and that NAPA auto parts store had it because it had a core charge on it. Well I went over to NAPA to ask if their new throttle body had a core charge and they told me there was no core charge on new throttle bodies only on refurbished ones. When I went back over to Al's Garage to ask to have the throttle body replacement chargers removed, they had no issue taking it off my bill but also "my" old throttle body magically reappeared and they put the old one back on my car. Well, I took my vehicle to get another diagnosed by 3 different mechanics, one being the actual Jeep dealership. All 3 mechanics came up with the same diagnosis and were unsure why they would do a tune up for my issue I was having. Other mechanics I spoke with as well, said in the situation if they provided me with a misdiagnosis and the problem wasn't fixed from their diagnosis they wouldn't keep charging me more to "test and check". I reached out to Al's Garage over the phone and spoke to a representative who had a very recognizable voice due to his accent. I asked if a manager was in while on the phone, and he said he did not know. I then asked if he knew who the owner was and again did not know. I then decided to return in person to speak with someone to find a resolution, the same guy who answered the phone, who referred to himself as Jerry, was there again. I explained the situation again, and he refused to work with me to find a resolution. I then asked for a business card and he refused to provide one and was initially reluctant to provide the name of the owner of the shop. It's unfortunate this situation is needing to come to this, but shops like this need to be put out of business to stop giving a bad rep for all the great mechanics and shops who are willing to do the right thing and not take advantage of costumers.
