Ryan and his team are phenomenal! Hubby and I have been dealing with this brake issue on our truck for almost 2 months. Took it back to original mechanic 3 times with no improvement. Decided to take it to Mavis and Ryan's inspection of the new rotors and brake pads showed that the previous mechanic did a piss poor job! $1100 of wasted time and money to this previous mechanic! Ryan showed me what had been done (no grease where it should've been grease, dust from old pads, etc) AND the lug nuts were swollen and had been tightened beyond the limit. 90% of them wouldn't even come off!! I was dumbfounded!! So Ryan's team spent an hour removing the old lug nuts, cleaning the rotors and greasing where needed. After test driving it was discovered that the squealing is still present and must be something going on with the wear of the pads/rotors or something. So, we will be taking the truck back to the previous mechanic to get this matter resolved ASAP! But that's all they will be doing because needless to say, Mavis will be getting our future business.

My wheels are straight, but my steering wheel was not.

I would have gone to the one on 4400 Fayetteville but it was much further away from my workplace, and I have no desire to return to the Wake Forest location again for a 4.5-hour service. The location at 4226 N Roxboro in Durham was closer than both. At 2:20pm, I logged in Discount Tire's Journey Tracker app that I was on my way. I arrived at 2:34pm. There was no wait line to the front desk. I was immediately helped by senior assistant manager Jim (according to his business card). After I described the issue to him, he asked for my car key and said he'd get me squared away. Unlike other Discount Tire locations, he did not accompany me to the car to show him the issue. At 2:47pm, I received an update on Journey Track app informing me that the estimated time of completion for my vehicle was 3:41pm. The waiting area wasn't crowded. At least three seats were available during my time there. However, the counter table had no seats. I needed to use the wall outlet next to it to charge my laptop. So I stood on my feet the entire time next to the table. The wifi was slow. A Google search took at least 5 seconds. Google News wouldn't load at all the first time but then loaded almost instantly the next time. At about 3:02pm-ish, my car was in the service bay. Five minutes later, I was informed that that tire had to be replaced. The informing attendant said that it would be replaced at no charge, which Jim confirmed another five minutes later. The store didn't have the exact model tire so they went with the closest one. All it cost was less than $10 for another certificate of free replacement, and subtracting the price of the original tire (the closest model tire cost less). At 3:28pm, I received a text notification that my car was ready. Within one minute, my car was parked outside and ready to go - the team finished ahead of schedule. I appreciated the great savings on the new tire. Service was good, certainly better than the Wake Forest location. There's one thing the N Roxboro Discount Tire team can do to improve my rating to "great": put seats at the counter table.

I was shocked as I hadn't realized they patch tires for free. By the customer service, promptness in getting me in and addressing my car, I definitely expected to pay. They've got my business and whenever I need new tires, they will be the first place I look towards. I can trust that they're not going to cheat me and skyrocket the prices. Also, everyone there was incredibly kind, patient, and friendly.

This easily earned me as a new customer. I walked in during a busy time and he Got me squared away in less than 20 minutes. I visited this store twice in July and August 2026, and both times I had an appointment. On each occasion, I waited approximately 30 minutes before I could speak with someone about the service I needed. Although someone checked me in after about 10 minutes, I still waited another 30 minutes before my appointment actually began. This is unacceptable, particularly when customers have scheduled appointments. During my most recent visit, I brought in my 2024 Chevy Silverado, which has only 25,000 miles, because there was a nail in the middle of the tire tread. I was told that the tire could not be repaired because the tires were "bald." This was simply not accurate. The tires were not bald and were in reasonable condition. I was also given the impression that the primary reason they were unwilling to repair the tire was that I had not purchased the tires from Discount Tire. These are the original OEM tires that came with the vehicle when I purchased it, so I found that explanation particularly disappointing given my long history of purchasing tires and receiving service from Discount Tire. I would leave a no-star review if possible!

The staff…read morethat greets and deals with the customers in the sales room are very friendly and helpful, which can't be said for every auto care service places. Usually there's someone working that has dealt with me before which makes the experience less stressful. For simple things like oil changes it usually only takes about an hour for them to get everything done. I've found their prices, including labor, to be competitive and usually far cheaper than places like the AAA Car and Maintenance Care Center. If this location fixes a problem, it's actually fixed and not just a short-term remedy that's going to wind you back in the waiting room a few weeks later. If they can't fix the issue, they're upfront and go over the issues with you and make recommendations, including suggesting others in the area that may know your problem or car a bit better. I always appreciate the time they take in explaining issues and don't think twice about anything they've done or recommend doing. This location also has weekend hours, including some on Sundays, making them convenient and customer-friendly. I've only had one car issue they've not been able to fix that gave me some grief and issues. They don't do state inspections, which is a bit of a shame, but overall the pros outweigh the cons.

You stand waiting…read morein the reception and you get no acknowledgement not even a "we'll be with you in a minute sir" and 15 minutes later when they get to you - no apology. It seems customer service & Sears don't know each other. I was told my routine oil change would take 2 hours because of the cars ahead - that's fine. But when I get back they now say it will be at least 3 1/2 hours at best and if that doesn't work then I should come back tomorrow. I think tectonic plates move quicker !! Stay well away - clearly as other reviewers have said - paying customers clearly interrupt their routine. When you look into the workshop the level of inactivity is obvious and there's a blatant disregard for Health & Safety compliance. Not one person wearing gloves or eye protection and I'm pretty sure that's required when handling oil & standing by tires being inflated.
