We also had a vehicle where the tinting on the back window was bubbling up (done by another co. years ago) that needed to be removed to pass MD state inspection. Frank again went over the details and did a great job on removing the tinting. I'd definitely recommend.

Frank took care of me from the moment I stepped inside. He greeted me right away, was professional, and made the whole process feel easy. I didn't know much about tint options going in, just that I wanted quality work done, and he took the time to explain everything clearly. He walked me through the different tint levels, the benefits of ceramic, and what I'd be getting for my money. I ended up going with the ceramic option, and I'm glad I did. The finished result looks amazing. Clean, sharp, and exactly what I was hoping for. The job was completed in about two hours, and the entire process was smooth and hassle-free. Frank also explained the lifetime warranty and long-term benefits without making it feel like a sales pitch. For the quality of work and service provided, the pricing felt fair and worth it. If you're in the Columbia area and looking for professional tint work done right, this is the spot. I'll definitely be coming back, my wife's vehicle is next on the list.

I had a small budget for something temporary so I purchased a Pioneer unit on Amazon. Afterwards, I contacted Hot Tint in May 2022. They responded to me that day and told me to stop by the shop. I made an appointment for later that week. When I arrived, I asked them to install the unit and a backup camera. I can't recall how much time it took but it was done in a reasonable amount of time and I'm happy with their service. I called a few other shops around this time. A couple had other projects and couldn't get to me for a few months. A couple of others didn't want to touch the van because of its age, manufactured in 1989. Hot Tint was straight-forward. They said let them see what I have and they'll let me know if they could use what I had or needed something else. I appreciate that approach. I did have a couple of problems but they were responsive. While driving home, my radio rebooted twice. The cable came loose so they told me to return to the shop so that they could fix it. The second is my clock resets to 12:00 every time the vehicle is restarted. They told me to bring it by so that they can fix it but I haven't. I'm rarely on the screen to see the time and just had other priorities. I mention these items to show that they were responsive and willing to troubleshoot the problem. I rate them high also because there are many mechanics and technicians who can work on a classic vehicle but refuse to do so. There are a handful like Hot Tint that jumps right in and do the job. I'm finally ready to add an amp and subwoofer so I will be contacting them again soon.

It's $280 if you don't want the front windshield done. Speaking of which, the darkest they'll do for windshield is 45%. For no ceramic I believe it's $180 for five windows, addition $100 for the windshield which is always going to be ceramic regardless of if the rest of the car is ceramic. Not hard to find, wasn't too sure on where to park when I got there. If you knock, I don't believe anyone will answer lol so just walk right in. Okay this is not the place you'll receive the friendliest customer service. They're not mean or rude. Just not the most welcoming. But it's cool I'm here for tints not to make BFFs. I was told three hours but they actually got it done in half the time because an additional associate came in to help at the end of the day so that was great. No one wore mask and there's no waiting area so just keep that in mind. I knew I would be in and out and didn't plan on staying to wait so I was cool. Overall nice job. Tints are still "drying" which they said takes 2-3 weeks. There's a small bubble at the top of my front windshield but it's gradually gone down. They said they'd fix anything if it didn't completely go away at the end of the drying period. They also offer $20 lifetime warranty if you do anything to mess up your tints like scratch it or if your ring hits it.

I appreciated his advice just not his tone. So instead of spending $220, I saved $100. That in person encounter totally contrasted with the phone call I made to set my appointment. The lady who set my appointment didn't mention anything about the windshield and even suggested different shades I could get (as low as 40% but she recommended 70% tint). She was so nice!! She made me feel at ease and honestly I felt very good about making my appointment with them because of her phone manner. So I get there and knock on the door. No one answered so I let myself in. A couple folks (I'm guessing they were part of the family who owns the business) were there, no one wearing masks but hey, I'm not judging, I kept mine on so no biggie. They looked at me for a few beats until the guy who ended up doing my tint acknowledged me. Didn't exactly make me feel welcomed but the lady who ended up taking my keys was decent. She told me some places I could wait in the area. No waiting inside due to COVID-19 so I had to hang around the area. They initially estimated it would take an hour. It took 4 hours. There was only one other car when I got there and I had an 11am appointment, but I arrived at 11:02am. When I called after 2 hrs to check, they said they had gotten busy. How??? I would think anyone else would get done AFTER me. So that didn't add up. Made me wonder how long I waited unnecessarily before they even got started on my car. I wasn't impressed by the customer service, when they finally called me, they said I was done, they let me know what time they normally close but mentioned they wanted to close early. Kind of awkward again but luckily for them, I was only steps away and got there 2 minutes after they called. Once inside, the guy who did my tint made a point to tell me how difficult it was to apply tint to the small triangle windows within my front window. He said it was a pain in the butt actually. He couldn't resist telling me they normally charge for that but they weren't charging. I did thank him but 2 things came to mind: 1. Why when I let them know my vehicle details over the phone did they not know about those windows or when I dropped my car off did they not look it over and call to tell me about the extra charge? I felt the decision not to make me pay was because they took 4 hours to tint 2 front windows. 2. What was the point of mentioning that? It lead me to once again feel awkward and struck me as unprofessional that he felt the need to bring it up. I'd almost rather have paid than to be spoken to like that. When I left, I was so ready to go but as the lady was detailing what I should expect of my windows over the next 2 weeks, I noticed something dark on the passenger window. I mentioned it and she came over and it was on the exterior. It was tape of some sort that she brushed away, casually mentioning the guy who did the job must not have cleaned up after himself. Not the end of the world but just one more thing. I really wanted to love this place. It's a small business, in my community and they had stellar reviews. I am not criticizing their work, they did a fine job and I'm sure my tint will be great when it "smooths" out in the next few days or so. I'm just asking them to try to deliver a consistent, PROFESSIONAL customer experience. The experience that so many other reviews raved about and influenced me to try Baltimore Tint in the first place.

I want to thank Ethan, the service manager, for taking the time out of his busy day to personally call me and explain the company's position regarding my review. I appreciate the effort to clarify the misunderstanding. According to Ethan, the business does not require payment upfront. Instead, the text we received was a pre-approval link meant to inform us of the potential cost following a diagnostic. Unfortunately, this wasn't clearly communicated during my original call with Lou. If he had mentioned that we'd receive a text requiring approval before any work could be done--and that payment would only be due after the diagnostic--I would not have left a one-star review. From a customer's perspective, receiving a $200+ link without prior explanation understandably creates the impression that payment is required in advance. This was a clear miscommunication, and I'm willing to chalk it up as such. That said, I strongly recommend the business makes this process more transparent in future calls. Customers should be clearly told: 1. They will receive a text with a pre-approval link. 2. No payment is due until after the diagnostic is complete. In today's climate, transparency is critical, and many customers--like myself--may feel uneasy approving charges before their vehicle has even been seen. While I still haven't had any work done here, I want to be fair. Ethan's call helped clarify the process, and for that reason, I'm updating my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. My intention has never been to tarnish this business--only to share my honest experience. I hope this feedback helps them improve communication with future customers and avoid similar misunderstandings. Thank you again.

When I challenged that and said I would happily pay for a repeat inspection *IF* my vehicle needs repairs, Tony repeatedly doubled down on nonsensical policies. Recommend using Columba Auto Care or Dobbin Auto Repair. Both seem more respectful of customers' time. Neither have such "policies" for state inspections. UPDATE to correct the inaccuracies by the business owner: I booked the night before and received confirmation of such. Also, when I called Tony in response to his text, I told him I'd pay for a repeat inspection IF NECESSARY (unlikely on a newer model with low miles) and would not want their shop to do the repairs. He still doubled down on nonsensical policies. If my vehicle needed repairs, I'd take it to Tesla -- not a random shop without the expertise necessary to take care of my vehicle. I've talked with multiple shops in the area. This is the ONLY one I've spoken to that refuses to do state inspections on Teslas. They should reevaluate their policies AND state this clearly on their website so they do not waste customers' time.
