I have used them in the past and have never been disappointed. I tried my luck without an appointment for a smog on my personal vehicle. Went in they accommodated me in a timely fashion. The office lady was very kind and kept me aware of the time it would take. I was in and out of there with my certificate in under 45 minutes. Quick and efficient - no trying to upsell which was nice. Parking is a little hard to come by some days as they are a small shop out of many businesses at this location. read more

I have been smogging here for 6 years. We have a 1981 Buick Riviera. Car has a 4.1 v6 and it is a Federal car. Shop / Test guy has no personality at all. Ever. Which is fine, because I'm there for a governmental test. The car has passed every time it tested here. This year, it was a NO / FAIL. The office staff, called me up, and said, that the car failed. I asked can you tell me why? She pointed to the test and said because of these two items. I asked "can you tell me what those two items are?" She said "you need to go to a shop - today, this will be $91.75. And if after the work is done, if you come back, we'll take $20.00 off the next test." While I'm not (that) upset it failed, it would have been nice if the dude (with no personality) would have at least advised what caused the fail. No loss to them, I will not return. read more

I've taken my car here for a safety check, back when I had my Forester. Apparently, whoever worked on my car prior to me getting the smog, had changed something on my exhaust. I did pass, but he made sure that I had the correct paperwork to keep in my car if something were to happen. It tells the changes that were done. And it was all legal. Brian Gilbert is professional all the way around. His shop is organized and the cleanest I have ever seen. I recommend going to him, he's a really nice guy. But don't go to fast while driving or you'll miss the entrance. Not very often you find an honest mechanic. read more

Came here thinking it was all legit and good he'll no this guy failed me for an old gas cap and he said I had an exhaust leak. Took my truck to my mechanic right away and he said my truck was perfectly fine it was an older truck. Then changed gas cap a day later took to another smog shop and it passed with flying colors don't bring you car here if it's and older car he will take your cash and expect you to come back for another smog. read more

I had my brakes done and the master cylinder replaced on my 1997 Honda Odyssey at Auto Phoenix a couple months ago. I was impressed by Brian, the owner & mechanic's, professionalism, communication, courteous service and reasonable prices, so I went back to him for additional general maintenance. Recently, Brian went above and beyond for me and my family. It's easy to appreciate your mechanic when everything goes well with your vehicle, but knowing you can trust them when things go wrong is priceless. Over time, my brake pedal began getting soft intermittently, so much so that I was concerned about driving at all. When I told Brian what was going on, he took the time to really listen to me and inspected my brake system at no charge. It turned out that the master cylinder that he recently installed was defective. He was able to get a new one under warranty, and knowing that my van is our family's ONLY vehicle, he offered to do the repair on his only day off to accommodate my crazy schedule! We went to this station surprised to see the place was sold to someone new. DO NOT GO THERE!! While we were waiting not only did he fail 50% of the people that went, every single car he was recommending things that needed to be fixed. If you have an older car CAUTION do not go. read more

I showed up at 4 pm, on a Friday, with a 1976 pickup. Having been here before, but not for awhile, I realized that the guy that I've been using for years sold the place. I felt a little uneasy. However, the fella (I see from the receipt that his name is Supervisor) that was there said he would do the smog. I gave him an out, as I'd meant to get there earlier, and I know that these older vehicles can be some extra trouble, but he said he'd do it (with his best "poker" face). He proceeded to go get the truck. It wouldn't start. I'm thinking, "aghhh! He closes at 5. Now, he's gonna turn me loose for sure." But no. Supervisor went in and and wheeled out the battery booster, and a super long extension cord. The truck started. After putting everything back, he drove her in and did the smog. Again, this year, the truck passed. (whew!) Thank you, Supervisor, for sticking around and helping me check off something on my list. I bet you wondered if old Bessie was going to fail, and I'd blame you and leave in a huff. I wouldn't have; I know that it's not really up to you, if a vehicle passes or not. I'll be back. I have to smog, most years, and I'm grateful. I'll try and make it in earlier, next time! Oh! PS: the price was reasonable. I got the smog, 2 wipers installed, and a gas cap (plus some candy and tv in the waiting room), great courtesy and assistance (free), plus tax (on parts) for $130. read more

I've been to this shop 2x now. The advertise for smog checks but they are so much more. I had my 60,000 miles check there and some minor repairs to a side mirror. Brian is knowledgeable and super nice. This is a family owned business and it shows. You will often see his wife Cheryl there as well, and they both treat you with respect and kindness. I highly recommend going to auto Phoenix for a professional and thorough job of any kind. read more

Headed over to my usual place to get my smog done and was surprised that it had changed owners. Happy to say they were just as fast and friendly as the previous person. I showed up around lunchtime on Monday, no appointment and they were able to get me right in. They even helped me with an answer to an ongoing issue that others have been unable to figure out. The only complaint I have, as I have with many auto shops, is that they didn't put my seat back after moving it (one of my pet peeves). All in all, great job! read more

Don't go here if you think your car might fail a smog because he will find a way to fail it. could be anything from a low tire to a chip in the paint and you have to break out your wallet only to get $20 off the next smog. Take it somewhere else. read more

If I could give no stars I would! Worst experience ever. I am warning you. If you have a older car this guy will nitpick it to death so it will not pass smog. Sat in waiting room every time he finishes a vehicle he tries to sell you a service. This guy will crawl in your motor with a flashlight and fail you for the smallest thing.
